In the Ecuadorian context, this is a transition period characterized by significant changes, frequently generating uncertainty and difficulties in adapting to social demands; therefore, the objective of this study was to determine the influence of social skills on the self-concept of first, second and third semester students of the Psychopedagogy program at the Technical University of Ambato. A mixed method approach was used with a non-experimental, cross-sectional, exploratory, descriptive and correlational design, using the Social Skills Scale (EHS) and the Form 5 SelfConcept Questionnaire (AF5) as instruments. 104 university students between the ages of 17 and 23 participated in the study. The results showed that 36% of the students presented a low level of social skills, with deficits in self-expression, defense and making demands, while 32% showed a low self-concept, mainly in the emotional and physical dimensions. Statistical analysis using the chi-square test (X²=16.558; p=0.002) confirmed the existence of a significant correlation between the two variables. Therefore, it was concluded that the development of social skills positively influences the formation of the self-concept of those evaluated, which is of fundamental importance for integral learning and psychological well-being.Item Matronatación en la motricidad gruesa de niños del centro de desarrollo infantil UTA(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Pedagogía de la Actividad Física y Deporte, 2025-07-04) Muyulema Sailema Alex Daniel; Maldonado Chochos Mariano Rafael; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Pedagogía de la Actividad Física y DeporteIn early childhood, the development of gross motor skills is an essential skill for physical growth and active interaction with the environment. However, it has been identified that many children have delays or difficulties in strengthening fundamental motor skills with coordination, balance and postural control. In view of this, this research aimed to determine the incidence of children's in gross motor skills in children of the UTA Child Development Center (CDI) during the period March and July 2025. The research methodology, on the other hand, consisted of a quantitative approach with pretest-postest experimental design in a single group. The sample consisted of 22 children aged 2 years and 3 years, to whom the Peabody Motor Scale of Development, Second Edition (PDMS-2) was applied, before and after the completion of the activity. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used for the analysis, applying the t-test for related samples. The results show significant differences, which implies that the application of midwifery significantly influences the gross motor skills of children. The strategy used emphasizes the development of static and dynamic motors together as the postural control of coordination and balance, reinforcing the consideration of an effective pedagogical resource for early stimulation in the classroom.Item Las prácticas laborales y el desempeño académico de los estudiantes de séptimo nivel de la carrera de educación básica de la Universidad Técnica de Ambato(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación Básica, 2025-07-04) Sigcha Azogue Erika Michelle; Miranda López Ximena Cumandá; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación BásicaThe purpose of this research was to determine the impact of work placements on the academic performance of seventh-level students in the Basic Education program at the Technical University of Ambato. To this end, a mixed-method approach was applied, combining quantitative and qualitative methods, with a descriptive scope, under a field approach and a non-experimental, cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 29 students and two teachers, who were administered a structured survey with a Likert scale and structured and semi-structured interviews with both students and teachers. The results obtained showed that work placements have a significant influence on strengthening students' professional, pedagogical, and academic competencies, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom, develop technical skills, improve their self-confidence, and adapt to real-life educational contexts. It was also found that most students perceive that the lessons learned in class serve as a foundation for adequate performance during their internships, although the need to improve some pedagogical processes and teacher support is recognized. Likewise, teachers positively valued these experiences, noting that they contribute to consolidating teacher identity and the ability of future professionals to face diverse educational challenges. Finally, it is concluded that internships have a positive impact on academic performance, so it is recommended to strengthen the integration of theory and practice, diversify practice spaces, and improve feedback processes.Item La educación cultural y artística en el desarrollo de habilidades en artes visuales con los estudiantes de educación general básica superior de la Unidad Educativa “Bautista” de la ciudad de Ambato(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación Básica, 2025-07-04) Quisingo Núñez Ronald Kevin; Yungán Lema Jorge Vinicio; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación BásicaThe present study, entitled “The Influence of Cultural and Artistic Education on the Development of Skills in Visual Arts among Upper Basic Education Students at the ‘Bautista’ Educational Unit in Ambato,” aimed to determine this impact. A mixed qualitative–quantitative approach was employed, at a descriptive level, with a non‑experimental, cross‑sectional design and a bibliographic‑documentary modality. The sample comprised 56 students who underwent observation and a questionnaire; the instruments (an observation sheet and a survey) were validated by two experts. The main findings reveal that only 10.7 % of students are always invited to observe their environment, whereas 48.2 % receive such invitations “rarely” or “very rarely.” Although 78.6 % accurately reproduce facial features, 82.1 % fail to harmonize colors or contrasts. Furthermore, 96.4 % do not employ layers, textures, gradients, or blending, and 89.3 % exhibit deficiencies in stroke and pressure control, despite 58.9 % claiming familiarity with these techniques. It is concluded that, as currently implemented, Cultural and Artistic Education does not optimally influence the development of visual arts skills. Students demonstrate a low level of technical proficiency. Even though they report frequently practicing colored‑pencil drawing and figure studies, this does not translate into effective mastery of the technique.Item Los saberes femeninos y el turismo vivencial en la parroquia Salasaka(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Turismo, 2025-07-04) Luna Pinto Dayana Michelle; Viteri Toro Maria Fernanda; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de TurismoThe growing demand for sustainable and culturally respectful tourism models prompted this research, which focused on analyzing how women's ancestral knowledge in the indigenous parish of Salasaka can be incorporated into the development of experiential tourism. Using a qualitative approach, a thematic observation guide was applied to identify, analyze, and triangulate fifteen ancestral practices led by women and fifteen manifestations of experiential tourism present in the community. The findings reveal a vibrant cultural heritage reflected in practices such as traditional gastronomy, weaving, natural medicine, collective child-rearing, and community leadership. The study demonstrates that women's knowledge not only fosters cultural identity and resilience but also represents a viable opportunity to boost the local economy through authentic tourism experiences. Additionally, it highlights the crucial role of women as knowledge keepers, community leaders, and intercultural educators. The final proposal outlines guidelines for a gender-sensitive experiential tourism model that honors the symbolic meanings of each practice while promoting inclusive and participatory processes. In conclusion, a strong relationship exists between women's ancestral knowledge and experiential tourism, provided that these initiatives are managed under principles of equity, sustainability, and cultural recognitionItem La educación ambiental y el senderismo en el cerro Teligote, cantón Pelileo(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Turismo, 2025-07-04) Guamanquispe Guaillaguaman Jennifer Alexandra; González Sánchez Angélica María; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de TurismoThe Teligote hill is considered a protective forest located in the community of the same name, belonging to the Pelileo cantón in the province of Tungurahua. However, its narrative has not shown inclusive perspectives. Therefore, the objective of this research was to determine memory tourism and historical reinterpretation through a case study on the Independence of Ambato in order to make historically marginalized groups visible. Its importance lies in the fact that history was analyzed from a broader perspective, in which the participation of social groups excluded from traditional narratives was made visible. The research employed a qualitative approach methodology. For the independent variable, interviews were conducted with tourism professionals and historians. For the dependent variable, a bibliographic review was carried out. The results obtained show that memory tourism is an important activity for the transmission of memory, however, it must be properly managed. It also became evident that, generally, traditional narratives omit the voices of minority social groups in terms of gender, ethnicity and class. In other words, the role of upper class historical actors is mainly highlighted, minimizing the contributions of women, indigenous peoples, Afrodescendants and soldiers. It was concluded that memory tourism is an important tool for re-signifying historical events and for a more complex and inclusive historical reinterpretation. Finally, a script was proposed for a dance and narration performance with the purpose of reinterpreting the history of the Independence of Ambato from an inclusive approach that makes visible the diverse social groups that were part of the independence process.Item Los servicios turísticos y el turismo laboral en Baños de Agua Santa(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Turismo, 2025-07-04) Carrasco Sánchez María Andrea; Abril Flores, Oscar Alberto; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de TurismoDigital nomads currently represent a market segment that promises the development of tourist destinations, but require that tourism services are adapted to specific needs to ensure a good permanence. Thus, the present research had as a reason to analyze the adaptation of tourism services to labor tourism with emphasis on digital nomads to distinguish areas for improvement in terms of service through research in Baños de Agua Santa. For this, a methodology with a qualitative approach was used, where data were collected for the independent variable through observation sheets applied to six tourist establishments to analyze the service response to the demand and for the dependent variable through interview guides for the characterization of labor tourism and identification of the expectations and specific demands of digital nomads as practitioners of labor tourism focused on members of GADBAS and tourist servers. Thus, the results were mainly that the tourism services of accommodation and food and beverage in the canton are adapting to the needs of digital nomads, although there are areas for improvement, such as the inclusion of workspaces and wellness. Work tourism can be developed in the area thanks to the existing connectivity, infrastructure and diverse offer of services. With the aforementioned, it was concluded that Baños has potential for labor tourism, but needs to improve service, infrastructure and strengthen promotion to ensure competitive growth of this segment.
