    The present investigation refers to homework in the area of Mathematics with seventh grade students of General Basic Education of the Providencia Educational Unit, in the city of Ambato. Its importance not only responds to current challenges but also promotes a transformation in the way of planning and applying homework, proposing it as a key strategy to revolutionize pedagogical practices and respond effectively to the demands of learning in the 21st century. The scientific contribution focuses on the integral analysis of homework quality, its influence on the development of teachinglearning and student perception. The general objective was to evaluate school homework in the area of Mathematics in students. The research is framed in the line of Social and Educational Behavior, with a mixed approach methodology, nonexperimental design and cross-sectional, applying bibliographic, documentary and field modalities. The sample was composed of 22 students of parallel “A”. The instruments used were the checklist, surveys and grades, processed with SPSS software. The results showed that most of the tasks met the curricular criteria, and that the students reached or exceeded the expected learning levels. In addition, they expressed a positive perception of the tasks, recognizing them as a useful reinforcement strategy to better understand the contents addressed in class. It is concluded that proper planning has a positive impact on performance and attitude towards the subject.

    This research project addresses the characteristics of laboratory practices and meaningful learning among tenth-grade students of General Basic Education in the subject of Natural Sciences at the Juan León Mera “La Salle” Educational Unit, located in the city of Ambato. The study responds to the need to strengthen pedagogical strategies that foster active participation in order to promote a deeper understanding of scientific content. A quantitativequalitative methodological approach was applied, under a non-experimental, cross-sectional descriptive design, using techniques such as surveys, interviews, observation, and descriptive statistical analysis. The findings reveal that although laboratory practices are adequately planned and students show interest, their implementation is sporadic and lacks sufficient opportunities for reflection and autonomous inquiry. Based on the analysis carried out, it is concluded that there is a solid theoretical foundation regarding the pedagogical value of experimental practices in the meaningful construction of knowledge. Furthermore, while students achieve the expected learning outcomes, very few attain a deep mastery of the content. Therefore, the need to implement laboratory practices in a systematic way is emphasized in order to enhance the quality of learning in Natural Sciences.

    The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between gamification and academic performance in the area of Social Studies in fifth grade students. It was developed under a mixed approach, combining a bibliographic-documentary and field modality. The study was framed within the line of research on social and educational behavior. The population consisted of 30 students and 1 teacher of General Basic Education (EGB). For data collection, a survey was administered to the students and an interview to the teacher, both instruments validated by two experts in the field. The results were analyzed, interpreted and discussed by means of tables. From the data obtained, it was evidenced that the implementation of playful activities generates a greater interest in students for learning, which in turn facilitates the improvement in their academic performance. It is concluded that gamification has a positive influence on the teaching-learning process, promoting meaningful learning in the area of Social Studies.

    The present research, entitled "Syllabic Reading and Meaningful Learning," had the general objective of determining the relationship between syllabic reading level and meaningful learning in the academic process of third- and fourth-year students of Basic General Education at the "Fe y Alegría" Educational Unit. The study was conducted using a mixed approach, integrating quantitative and qualitative methods to achieve a more complete view of the phenomenon under study. The quantitative approach allowed for the collection and analysis of numerical data in order to establish statistical relationships and generalize results, while the qualitative approach offered a deeper and more subjective perspective through the analysis of meanings, experiences, and contexts experienced by the students. The methodological design was cross-sectional, as data were collected at a single time point and worked at exploratory, descriptive, and correlational levels. This allowed for an in-depth understanding of the characteristics of the problem, a description of the variables studied, and an analysis of the relationships between them. The BANETA battery was used to collect data, specifically the word segmentation and text comprehension sections. Word segmentation allowed for the assessment of syllabic reading proficiency, while text comprehension facilitated the assessment of meaningful learning, focusing on inferential and analytical skills. This comprehensive methodological approach contributed to a better understanding of the impact that syllabic reading development has on the consolidation of meaningful learning in the early school years.

    The present research, titled "Sensory Preferences and Meaningful Learning", was developed with students from third to tenth year of Basic General Education at the "Los Sauces" Educational Unit. The main objective was to determine how sensory preferences affect meaningful learning in students. The study followed a mixed approach, with a descriptive, exploratory, and correlational methodological design. Both bibliographic research and field research were used to theoretically support the variables and collect empirical data directly from the studied population. The theoretical review included key concepts, theories, models, and styles related to sensory preferences and meaningful learning, gathered from reliable academic sources such as scientific articles and theses. For data collection, two instruments were applied: the VARK test, used to identify sensory preference types (visual, auditory, reading/writing, and kinesthetic), and a semi-structured questionnaire on meaningful learning, adapted to the students' characteristics. These instruments allowed analyzing the relationship between both variables. Finally, the data were subjected to statistical analysis using the Chisquare test, which verified the hypothesis. The results showed a significant relationship between sensory preferences and meaningful learning, confirming that these preferences directly influence the processes of knowledge acquisition and understanding in students.

    This research is based on the study of adaptive behaviours in the students of the Technical University of Ambato, specifically in the Faculty of Human Sciences and Education (FCHE). The research focuses on how these behaviours act in the solution of mathematical problems through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education. The main objective is to analyse the adaptive behaviours and the resolution of mathematical problems by means of Educational Artificial Intelligences of the students of leveling period September 2024 - February 2025, the methodology used was of quasi-experimental design with correlational level, documentary and field bibliographic modality, it was chosen to apply the survey to the group of students of all the careers of the Faculty of Human Sciences and of the Education, with a correlational approach, to value the efficiency of the educational intervention. The results obtained determine that the use of artificial intelligence not only improves mathematical resolution and calculations, but also contributes to the development of adaptive behaviours that simplify meaningful learning. The theoretical framework reviews preliminary research on Artificial Intelligences in the field of education, research on teaching, adaptive strategies and mathematical problem solving. The importance of incorporating new technologies in the university classroom to strengthen the teaching-learning process is noted. The results achieved from the data collection support the hypothesis that adaptive behaviours help positively in the development of students' skills in their logical, mathematical and computational reasoning for the resolution of problems not only mathematical but also of everyday life. Finally, conclusions are drawn that highlight the correlation between artificial intelligence and the evolution of academic skills in the exact sciences, specifically in mathematics, thus invigorating the need to apply these innovative strategies in higher education. It also presents an educational proposal that serves as a guide to promote the development of adaptive behaviours with new technologies, specifically with artificial intelligence in the resolution of mathematical problems, in order to raise the academic performance and understanding of students in the analytical field of students.

    This work proposes the implementation of the free software GeoGebra as a pedagogical tool for the solution of systems of linear equations in high school students of the “Manuel Álvarez Méndez” Educational Unit. Its main objective is to improve the understanding and academic performance of students in the field of linear algebra, through the use of technological tools that combine graphical and algebraic methods for solving equations. GeoGebra is a dynamic and interactive software that presents abstract concepts in a concrete way. The methodology applied had a pre-experimental design working with a single group of 38 students, with a qualitative-quantitative approach. The data collected in the research were obtained through the survey technique, using a structured questionnaire as an instrument. This was applied before (pre-test) and after (post-test) the didactic sessions, in order to identify changes and compare the results related to the level of knowledge about linear equations. Statistical analysis was performed with SPSS software and the Wilcoxon test was used to validate the hypotheses. The analysis of the pre-test data reveals that 61% are in the category “Is close to achieving (PA)” which indicates that they have not yet reached a complete mastery of the learning and 34% reached the category “Achieves the learning (AA)” reflecting satisfactory performance. After the implementation of GeoGebra, the post-test analysis shows a significant improvement in performance levels, 42% of the students reached the category “Mastered the learning (DA)” indicating a complete mastery of the learning, reflecting satisfactory performance. These results demonstrate the effectiveness of GeoGebra as a pedagogical tool to improve students' academic performance and understanding of linear algebra.

    This research work is developed within the research line of social and educational behavior. The main objective is to analyze the implementation of the global method in the process of literacy of second-grade students in Basic General Education at the educational institution "Pablo Arturo Suárez" in Baños de Agua Santa. This research employs a pre-experimental design with a mixed approach, combining bibliographic and field analysis to assess the impact of this method. Additionally, exploratory, descriptive, and correlational levels of research were used. The population included 28 second-grade students who participated in activities designed under the global method approach. Techniques such as pretests and posttests, validated by experts and analyzed through statistical tools, including the Wilcoxon Z test, were used to measure progress in literacy skills. The results revealed that the educational intervention increased the average performance of the group, placing 96% of the students in the higher learning categories according to the LOEI, demonstrating a significant improvement in the reading and writing abilities of the students, and showing that the global method promotes more meaningful learning connected to the students' reality. The implementation of the global method represents an innovative and effective strategy, ideal for integration into educational curricula aimed at strengthening basic literacy skills in diverse contexts and in the pursuit of inclusive and quality education.

    La atención selectiva y el aprendizaje significativo de las matemáticas

    The following research project called: "Selective attention and meaningful learning of mathematics in students of basic general education of the Teresa Flor Educational Unit" is located in the province of Tungurahua in the city of Ambato. Its objective is to determine the correlation of selective attention and meaningful learning of mathematics in a sample of 81 students corresponding to secondary school. In Chapter I, the theoretical framework was carried out, for the respective research process, relevant information was selected through various reliable sources such as scientific journals, articles, books, papers and psychopedagogical journals. In Chapter II, the research was developed through a mixed approach, since this helped the correlation of data, in this way correlational, explanatory, descriptive and field research methods were put into practice respectively. In Chapter III, data collection instruments such as the d2 Test for selective attention and concentration were used, in addition to the B.E.R.D.E battery in order to relate attention with the learning of mathematics of 6th and 7th grade students. Finally, in Chapter IV, the hypothesis was verified using the Chi-square statistic. In this way, the null hypothesis could be rejected and the alternative hypothesis accepted.
