Item ESTRÉS ACADÉMICO Y ESTADO DE ÁNIMO EN ESTUDIANTES UNIVERSITARIOS(2025-03-05) Aimara Diaz, Angie Sarahi; Flores Hernández, Verónica Fernanda; Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología ClínicaAcademic stress is a common phenomenon present in students when faced with school demands. On the other hand, mood is a prolonged, stable, and less reactive psychological state than emotions. The present study aimed to determine the relationship between academic stress and mood in university students through a non-experimental investigation, with a quantitative approach, descriptive-correlational scope, and cross-sectional design. For this purpose, the Systemic Cognitivist Inventory for the Study of Academic Stress, Second Version of 21 items (SISCO SV-21), and the Mood Assessment Scale (EVEA) were administered to 150 university students aged 18 to 64. The results showed that there is a slight positive correlation between academic stress and certain mood dimensions such as anxiety, hostility, and depression, while academic stress had no correlation with joy; the predominant level of academic stress was moderate; moreover, the prevailing mood in the population was joy. On the other hand, significant differences were observed according to gender, as it was evident that women exhibit higher levels of academic stress compared to men.Item APOYO SOCIAL PERCIBIDO Y ESTRÉS ACADÉMICO EN ESTUDIANTES UNIVERSITARIOS(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2024-09-09) Rocha Toapanta, Gladys Lisset; Gavilanes Manzano, Fanny RocíoPerceived social support is about the perception that the subject has about the support they receive from their social network, while academic stress is conceptualized as a series of processes of systemic origin, whether adaptive and psychological. The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between perceived social support and academic stress in university students . The sample was made up of 140 students with an age range between 18 and 32 years old from the Faculty of Systems, Electronics and Industrial Engineering of a University in Ambato. The research had a quantitative approach, nonexperimental design, with cross-sectional and descriptive -correlational scope. To measure these variables, the MOS social support questionnaire developed by Sherbourne and Stewart (1991) and the SISCO academic stress inventory SV - 21 created by Arturo Barraza in 2018 were used. The results showed that there is no correlation between the dimensions of social support. perceived and academic stress, likewise, no significant differences were found between academic stress levels and gender. In conclusion, the lack of relationship between these two variables may be due to multifactorial causes, so that perceived social support did not perform its buffering function against stress. Cl. The study had a quantitative approach of correlational scope, non-experimental cross-sectional design. A sociodemographic survey, the Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and the second version of the Systemic Cognitive Inventory for the Study of Academic Stress (SISCO SV-21) were applied to a sample of 190 students, 47 females and 153 males. It was obtained that the participants have poor sleep quality (65.3%), while in academic stress the predominant levels are severe (40.5%) and moderate (35.3%) which shows that the students have high levels of academic stress. Finally, it is observed that there is a slight positive correlation (Rho = 0.451, p<0.01) between sleep quality and academic stress in students who made up the present study.Item Autoeficacia y estrés académico en estudiantes universitarios(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2023-03-01) Moposita Manobanda, Edwin Fabricio; Vásquez de la Bandera Cabezas, Fabricio Alejandro Ps. Cl. The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between academic self-efficacy and academic stress in university students. The study was approached by means of a nonexperimental design, quantitative approach, descriptive-correlational and cross-sectional type. A total of 239 students between 18 and 26 years of age participated, distributed in eight semesters and selected by non-probabilistic convenience sampling. The Inventory of Academic Self-Efficacy Expectations (IEAA) and the Systemic Cognitive Inventory for the study of academic stress in its second version of 21 items were applied. The results established that there is no correlation between academic self-efficacy and academic stress (Rho=-0.011, p>0.05). A medium level of academic self-efficacy was determined to be present in 69.9% of the study population and a moderate level of academic stress corresponding to 76.6%. The mean academic stress score in students of initial semesters (64.4) was not significantly different in the final semesters (62.0).Item Estrés académico y su relación con la autoestima en estudiantes de secundaria superior(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2022-09-01) Paredes Bastidas, Angie Maythe; Céspedes Guachamboza, Danilo Alejandro Ps. Cl. Mg.The present study sought to identify the correlation between academic stress and selfesteem in high school students, using the SISCO Academic Stress Inventory and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, in a population of 107 high school students, 70 males and 37 females, with an age range of 14 to 16 years, selected by means of a sociodemographic form in which the inclusion and exclusion criteria were contemplated. The results showed that 77.6% of the students presented levels of moderate academic stress, being the predominant level, followed by levels of deep academic stress and in smaller proportion levels of mild academic stress, if there was a difference in gender, with females presenting deeper levels of academic stress. Regarding self-esteem, it was found that the highest level corresponds to high selfesteem with 37.4% of the population, followed by low self-esteem and finally medium self-esteem. It was found that there is a statistically significant correlation of p=.000 and inverse of R= -.357 between academic stress and self-esteem, that is to say, the higher the academic stress the lower the self-esteem and vice versa, being able to observe that while the students have a higher level of deep academic stress their selfesteem is at a low level. Mst.The present study identified the relationship between academic stress and aggressiveness in unified general high school students, constructs measured by means of the SISCO Inventory of Academic Stress and The Buss and Perry Aggressiveness Questionnaire (AQ) in a sample of 105 unified general high school students, with an age range between 16 and 18 years old, were selected under exclusion and inclusion criteria. The results showed that most of the adolescents present a moderate level of academic stress and a deep level of academic stress, a small amount of the sample obtained a mild level of academic stress, and statistically significant differences were found between male and female genders. More than half of the investigated population presented a low level of aggressiveness, followed by medium and high, the levels with the lowest predominance of aggressiveness were low and very high. For the verification of the hypothesis of correlation between academic stress and aggressiveness, in this case, given the fulfillment of the normality assumption, the Pearson Correlation Statistic was used. Once the data were analyzed, it was concluded that there is a statistically significant relationship between the study variables and a directly proportional correlation with a moderate degree of relationship. Cl. Mg.The present research was carried out with the objective of identifying the relationship between the level of anxiety and the level of academic stress in university students, variables that were measured through the SISCO Inventory of academic stress and the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) in a sample of 169 students belonging to the careers of Clinical Psychology and Nursing. The study was a quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional approach. The results showed that the majority of the students presented high levels of both anxiety and academic stress, in terms of stress a deep level was found in the whole sample. In addition, no significant differences were found in the means of the stress level in the two careers. With respect to the verification of hypothesis academic stress was significantly related to anxiety (p<0.01), therefore, it was concluded that there is direct moderate strong correlation between the variables, i.e. the higher the level of anxiety, the higher the level of academic stress in university students of psychology and nursing.Item Dependencia a los videojuegos y su relación con el estrés académico en adolescentes(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2022-09-01) Chiluisa Flores, Estefani Gabriela; Gaibor Gonzalez, Ismael Alvaro, Psi.Cl.Mg.Currently, the use of video games is a recreational practice most used by young people, however, excessive use is a concern for mental and physical health. In addition to this, academic stress has been taken into account, which has been increasing. That is why the objective of this study was to identify if there is a relationship between the dependence on video games and academic stress in adolescents. For which a quantitative and cross-sectional study was carried out, in 104 adolescents between (12-18 years old), the Video Game Dependence Test (TDV) and the Cognoscitivist Systemic Inventory for the study of academic stress were obtained second version of 21 items (SISCO SV-21 Inventory). In the results, it was found that academic stress is between moderate and severe, in addition there are no differences between gender, unlike the dependence on video games where there are low levels and men are more dependent than women. Finally, through a statistical analysis it is concluded that there is no relationship between the variables.Item El estrés académico y su relación con la autoestima en adolescentes(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2022-09-01) Bonilla Aldas, Angelly Paulina; Gaibor Gonzalez, Ismael Alvaro, Psc Mst.Stress is a growing health problem, the present study aimed to identify the relationship between the level of academic stress and the level of self-esteem in adolescents from the San José Tax Commission Educational Unit, in the province of Napo, city of Tena. An investigation of quantitative approach, cross-sectional, non- experimental and correlational design was proposed. We worked with 135 third-year high school students, 50 men and 85 women with an age range between 17 and 19 years. The Cognoscitivist Systemic Inventory for the study of Academic Stress Second version of 21 items (SISCO SV-21) and the Rosenberg Self-esteem scale were used. The results indicated that the majority of students, that is, 59.3%, present severe levels of academic stress and 48.9% high self-esteem. Likewise, it was determined that gender was associated with stress, but not with self-esteem. The proposed hypothesis was rejected, since no relationship was found between academic stress and self-esteem (Rho= -0.027 p>0.05).Item Estrés académico y su relación con el consumo de alcohol en estudiantes universitarios(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2022-02-01) Torres López, Enith Coralía; Gavilanes Manzano, Fanny RocíoPs. Cl. Mg.Academic stress and alcohol consumption are terms of interest in the current context of students. The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between academic stress and alcohol consumption in university students.
