Item Violencia Patrimonial en Mujeres(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-07-10) López Rodríguez, Solange Génesis; Balseca Basantes, Jeanneth ElizabethEconomic violence against women is a form of gender-based violence that involves the deprivation, theft, denial, and limitation of assets and economic resources, which can negatively impact the personal development of young women during the crucial academic transition from secondary to higher education. The understanding of economic violence was analyzed through three central categories: its manifestation, the context in which it occurs, and its consequences for female students. The overall objective of this research was to analyze economic violence among female students at the "Mis Guaytambos" Pre-University School in the city of Ambato. The target population consisted of 25 women between the ages of 17 and 22. A semi-structured interview was conducted using a qualitative methodology, with a 12- question instrument developed and subsequently validated by expert review. Through content analysis and the use of word cloud tools, patterns and similarities were identified in the experiences of the interviewees, facilitating an understanding of how these violent situations manifest in family settings and intimate relationships. The results showed that this type of violence generates insecurity, forced dependence, and enables the coexistence of other forms of abuse. Finally, a social work intervention proposal was developed, divided into four key phases: diagnosis and case detection, prevention and awareness-raising regarding economic violence, intervention and psychosocial support, and inter-institutional coordination.Item Interseccionalidad y permanencia en Carreras de Ingeniería(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-07-09) Oñate Villalba, Dayana Madelein; Chiliquinga Vejar, Lorena Del CarmenThe permanence of women in engineering careers constitutes a relevant challenge in higher education, due to structural, social and cultural inequalities in STEM areas. The present research analyzes the relationship between intersectionality and the permanence of women in engineering careers at the Technical University of Ambato, considering factors such as gender, socioeconomic situation and social context that influence their academic career. The study was developed from an intersectional perspective taking into account the impact of economic, educational, cultural and social factors on the continuity of students within higher education. To achieve this, a mixed methodological approach was used that integrated quantitative and qualitative tools with the purpose of obtaining a broad understanding of the phenomenon. In the quantitative phase, a questionnaire was applied to engineering students, focused on analyzing variables such as family environment, academic motivation, social support, vocational guidance and the perception of gender inequality. Additionally, in the qualitative phase, an interview guide was carried out that was validated by experts, which allowed us to know the experiences and perceptions of the participants about their academic permanence. The results show that the permanence of women in engineering does not depend only on academic performance, but also on structural and sociocultural factors, gender stereotypes, economic limitations, social barriers and the level of institutional support. In this sense, research provides evidence to strengthen policies and strategies aimed at promoting gender equity, inclusion and continuity of women in higher education.Item Obstáculos normativos y acceso a la justicia de mujeres víctimas de violencia física en la Parroquia de Santa Rosa(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Derecho, 2026-01-22) Flores Vargas, Emilia Anahí; Ramiro Tite, SegundoThis research examines the normative, institutional, and sociocultural obstacles that hinder access to justice for women victims of physical violence in the Parish of Santa Rosa. Although national legislation recognizes violence against women as a serious human rights violation and establishes mechanisms for protection, its practical implementation at the local level remains limited. These shortcomings manifest in delays in reporting procedures, inconsistent criteria for risk assessment, and insufficient issuance of protection measures. The study employs a qualitative approach, supported by documentary analysis, legal review, and interviews with institutional and community actors involved in the local response system. This methodological framework enabled a comprehensive understanding of how legal and institutional shortcomings affect victims” ability to seek and obtain justice. Findings show a significant gap between the legal framework and its effective application, aggravated by limited institutional resources, inadequate infrastructure, and the absence of specialized personnel. The research also identifies persistent institutional revictimization, characterized by repeated recounting of traumatic events, insensitive treatment, and procedural delays. Additionally, sociocultural barriers —including fear of retaliation, economic dependence, normalization of violence, and social stigma—continue to discourage women from reporting or pursuing legal action. Weak inter-institutional coordination further undermines the effectiveness of the justice system in Santa Rosa, resulting in duplicated efforts, fragmented information, and insufficient follow-up in high-risk cases. Based on these findings, the study proposes several recommendations, including strengthening the local application of national legislation through unified protocols, improving training in gendersensitive and trauma-informed approaches, expanding institutional resources, preventing revictimization, promoting community awareness, enhancing inter-agency coordination, and establishing accessible reporting mechanisms and monitoring systems. The research concludes that ensuring effective access to justice for women victims of physical violence in Santa Rosa requires a comprehensive and integrated approach that addresses legal, institutional, and cultural dimensions. Such efforts are essential to reducing impunity, guaranteeing protection, and advancing the right of women to live free from violence.Item Interacción Social y Redes Comunitarias(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-01-19) Ortega Roldán, Karyme Nayelly; Torres Carrillo, Silvia SusanaThis research is conducted in Chile and addresses the importance of social interaction and community networks in the urban context of Francke, a community in Osorno, Chile, where the community structure and population aging processes are accelerated. The objective is to understand how networks and interaction dynamics are managed in an urban context. The objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between social interaction and community networks in adults over the age of 60 in the Francke sector. The study group consisted of 18 older adults, all women. For the execution of the methodology, a qualitative approach was used, and semi-structured interviews were applied to investigate the interactions and networks of the older adults in the Francke sector. To address the objective of systematizing experiences, the life history technique was incorporated, which will allow us to understand how changes in family, work, and social life have influenced their forms of interaction and participation. The contraption held six sorts, fourteen signs, and fourteen small queries, letting us peek at the things that tickle the social chats of folks getting on in years, and also spot their helping webs and happenings. The findings from this look suggest that the aged folks in Francke mostly weave their friendly ties through kin and the folks nearby, which feel like big wells of feeling good and having someone around daily. The gathered tales spill out mixed-up happenings spotted with times of having company, sticking together, and being alone. It was seen that joining in planned group doings is small because of legs not working well, not enough right spots, and life sagas showed shifts in their local friendship circles, brought on by family and location shifts that shaped how they felt about fitting in socially. On top of that, a big wish for linking up popped up when easy-to-reach spots and bonds built on trust were aroundItem La violencia de género en el acceso y permanencia de mujeres en cargos políticos en Ecuador(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Juriprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Derecho, 2025-08-01) Izurieta Cevallos, Angie Micaela; Saca Balladares, Melinton FernandoThis research work, titled "“LA VIOLENCIA DE GÉNERO EN EL ACCESO Y PERMANENCIA DE MUJERES EN CARGOS POLÍTICOS EN ECUADOR”," has the general objective of evaluating the impact of gender-based violence on the access and permanence of women in political positions in Ecuador. This study is framed in a context where structural inequalities persist despite normative advances toward gender equality. The research is justified by the need to shed light on how various forms of political, psychological, symbolic, and verbal violence limit women's access to positions of power, as well as their permanence and full leadership within those spaces.A qualitative methodology with a legal-social approach was employed, using historical-legal, analytical-synthetic, hermeneutic, narrative, correlational, bibliographic, and field methods. This included normative and documentary analysis, along with interviews conducted with women leaders, who identified patterns of normalized violence and a deficient institutional framework. The findings reveal that, although the legal framework recognizes political gender-based violence, its implementation remains ineffective. Protection measures lack promptness, follow-up, and a gender-sensitive approach. This is further exacerbated by conflicts of interest, legal loopholes in the Código de la Democracia (Democracy Code), and a lack of institutional autonomy. As a result, many women are faced with the dilemma of resisting or stepping down. The study concludes that, while legal progress has been made in terms of formal representation, structural barriers in society continue to hinder full and equitable participation. Gender-based violence remains a strategy of exclusion that violates rights, undermines leadership, and obstructs the consolidation of an inclusive democracy in Ecuador.Item Experiencias de vida de mujeres con discapacidad(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2025-07-30) Yanzapanta Salán, Katherin Lissette; Torres Carillo, Silvia SusanaThe discrimination against women with disabilities is a reality in society, and it includes gender discrimination, making them vulnerable in the educational and judicial systems and limiting their opportunities for economic independence. Social inequalities shape the environment of women with disabilities, in a society that, it requires them to perform traditional domestic activities and, on the other, it discriminates against them based on their condition and gender. Although the state has created norms that guarantee equality for people with disabilities and for women, but in practice, processes and staff members in public institutions discriminate against women with disabilities are still evident. Non-profit institutions, such as foundations, have provided support in health, education, social work, and psychological support services. The research determines the life experiences of women with disabilities in the Huambaló Parish. The study is exploratory and descriptive. A qualitative methodology was used to conduct the research, based on the development of a self-authored questionnaire comprised of seven dimensions: educational system, judicial system, social inequalities, cultural ideas, discrimination, professional assistance, and disability. Data collection was carried out through fieldwork, in which 15 women with disabilities from the Huambaló Parish were interviewed. Recommendations presented based on the research include: a comprehensive support program, priority care, the implementation of indicators to reduce discrimination, and integration activities between women with disabilities and their close family members.Item Estudio Analítico del Acoso Laboral y su Incidencia de Género en el Ecuador(Universidad Tècnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Derecho, 2024-08) Tapia Tinizaray, Joselyn Fernanda; Masabanda Analuiza, Galo IvanThe dynamics of labor relations under an employment relationship are always marked by the employer-worker relationship, and their work environment in each of the work centers in the Republic of Ecuador; In such a way that the different ways of treating workers for their jobs are always latent in the work dynamics. Thus, the objective of this research is to carry out an analytical study about workplace harassment and especially how these actions affect the issue related to gender. For this, a research with a descriptive approach is applied to be able to carry out a study of the real situation in the workplace, with the application of the qualitative method since a bibliographic review is carried out first, to later apply a quantitative method that allows extracting data. statistics that allow us to meet the objective. Which leads to determining that as a main result, denigrating, discriminatory, humiliating actions, etc., are more likely to be generated against women. Concluding that, women are the most likely to be subject to these crimes of discrimination, therefore, immersed in workplace harassment, also preventing them from holding hierarchical positions, so it is necessary to improve policies and laws that promote gender equality in the workplace and that protect people against any form of harassmentItem Pobreza menstrual y Salud Pública(Universidad Tècnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2024-02) Verdezoto Aguilar, Johana Nathalye; Haro Lara, Aida PatriciaMenstrual poverty is a term that refers to the lack of access to menstrual hygiene products, adequate infrastructure, basic services such as drinking water, sewage, and privacy itself. By not being clear about the origin of menstruation, society has been creating its own concepts around it, which translates into the perpetuation of beliefs and, with this, the attribution of negative characteristics to menstruation. Thus, menstruation begins to be analyzed from the perspective of public health, demonstrating the gender gaps in the care of problems related to menstruation and generating negative consequences for the physical and psychological health of women. From the perspective of social work, the line of research is social exclusion and integration, with the objective of determining the influence of menstrual poverty on public health. In a population of 337 female students of the Chillanes Educational Unit, through the application of the finite formula, a sample of 181 women was reached. Using a quantitative approach, an instrument consisting of 44 questions with a Likert-type scale was designed and subjected to an analysis of validity by expert judgment and reliability by means of Cronbach's alpha. In this way, it was determined that menstrual poverty influences public health. In addition, after studying the dimensions studied, the lack of knowledge, the physical and psychological affections of menstruation, and the problems in accessing adequate menstrual management were evidentItem Normalización de la violencia de género en las trabajadoras de un mercado de la provincia de Tungurahua(Universidad Tècnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2023-09) Azanza Pérez, Amanda Gabriela; Aguilar Rodríguez, William FredyGender violence is an alarming phenomenon that affects women all over the world. In Ecuador, and according to Fundación Aldea, a femicide occurs every 26 hours. In this context, the main aim of this research was to analyze the practices of normalization of gender violence in workers of a market in the province of Tungurahua. This research is made up of four chapters which are the following: Chapter 1 addresses the theoretical aspects of gender violence. Chapter 2 describes the methodology that was used and the methods used for the construction of data and analysis of information with a qualitative design. It was based on real stories and life stories and experiences of the studied cases. Chapter 3 presents the results obtained in the investigation. Finally, the conclusions of the study are presented, where the stories show a succession of violent events, all of them related to gender, others of a racial and institutional nature, where symbolic violence is the main protagonist. The contributions of this research are of vital importance, since the phenomenon of violence is addressed from a gender perspective and delves into the interpretive paradigm and in-depth analysis of the stories and life stories of the participants. This approach has permitted us to understand the processes that lead to the normalization of gender violenceItem Los mitos de la menstruación y condiciones de vida de las mujeres(Universidad Técnica de Ambato,Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2022-03) Segura Amaluisa, Cristina del Rocío; Pino Loza, Eulalia DoloresMenstruation, as we know, is a natural event, made up of changes in the woman's reproductive system preparing her for a possible pregnancy, over time as human beings we have been creating different attitudes regarding this issue, the same ones that have been triggered as myths, thus seeing menstruation as something shameful, this is caused by today's society as it is impregnated with myths that stigmatize the subject. Therefore, for this research it is important to work with a mixed methodology, that is, to focus on two types of approaches, quantitative and qualitative, in order to obtain more accurate results, while the line of research worked on will be exclusion and social integration. , from the perspective of Social Work, we will learn more about what the myths of menstruation are and what they cause. It is known that this happens due to lack of knowledge, low levels of assertiveness, among other reasons. Menstruation related to women's living conditions shows us a side of the issue that is hardly talked about, as the scarce access to menstrual supplies shows us how difficult it is to go through a decent menstruation, for this reason it is important that talk about it openly both in schools and within the family, in order to put aside taboos, silence and shame.
