Los mitos de la menstruación y condiciones de vida de las mujeres

Abstract

Menstruation, as we know, is a natural event, made up of changes in the woman's reproductive system preparing her for a possible pregnancy, over time as human beings we have been creating different attitudes regarding this issue, the same ones that have been triggered as myths, thus seeing menstruation as something shameful, this is caused by today's society as it is impregnated with myths that stigmatize the subject. Therefore, for this research it is important to work with a mixed methodology, that is, to focus on two types of approaches, quantitative and qualitative, in order to obtain more accurate results, while the line of research worked on will be exclusion and social integration. , from the perspective of Social Work, we will learn more about what the myths of menstruation are and what they cause. It is known that this happens due to lack of knowledge, low levels of assertiveness, among other reasons. Menstruation related to women's living conditions shows us a side of the issue that is hardly talked about, as the scarce access to menstrual supplies shows us how difficult it is to go through a decent menstruation, for this reason it is important that talk about it openly both in schools and within the family, in order to put aside taboos, silence and shame.
