Item Violencia obstétrica y la protección legal en mujeres indígenas(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Derecho, 2026-07-10) Jaya Sasig, Karina Nicol; Acosta Morales, María GabrielaObstetric violence is a form of gender-based violence involving actions by medical personnel that violate the rights of pregnant women. It is currently recognized as a growing problem within the public health system, and despite numerous legislative and governmental efforts to eradicate it, it remains a daily reality. This research, entitled “Obstetric Violence and Legal Protection for Indigenous Women,” aims to analyze the incidence of obstetric violence and the rights of indigenous women. To this end, a qualitative approach was employed, utilizing interviews with a population sample intentionally selected based on the relevance and experience each participant could contribute. The research findings revealed that Ecuadorian indigenous women suffer racism and discrimination from public health system personnel, which has significantly diminished their trust in healthcare professionals. It is important to note that the investigation concluded that legal professionals tend to treat cases of obstetric violence as medical malpractice because this conduct is not specifically defined in the Comprehensive Organic Criminal Code. The investigation allowed for an analysis from a legal perspective but also highlights the social deficiencies that perpetuate this practice today. The research concludes that there is indeed a direct violation of the human rights of Indigenous women and that the lack of recognition of interculturality prevents the full exercise of their rights and hinders their access to justiceItem La cadena perpetua y las nuevas formas de criminalidad(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Derecho, 2026-07-10) Fuentes Pruna, Genesis Fernanda; Tite, Segundo RamiroThis study analyzes the possible implementation of life imprisonment within the Ecuadorian criminal justice system in response to the increase in violence, crime, and new modern forms of criminality related to organized crime, drug trafficking, contract killings, extortion, and other highly dangerous offenses. The main purpose of this research is to examine the legal implications that this criminal sanction would have, identify the possible constitutional and legal limitations for its application within the Ecuadorian criminal system, and evaluate the mechanisms currently used to confront the growing and persistent wave of criminality in the country. Through a qualitative approach, supported by doctrinal and legal analysis, as well as interviews conducted with judges, prosecutors, and practicing attorneys, it was possible to obtain specialized and personalized results regarding the efficiency and effectiveness of the different criminal sanctions that currently exist in the country, along with the urgent need to strengthen and toughen the criminal justice system in the face of the imminent growth of violence. Likewise, the study revealed the weakness and lack of control within both the penitentiary and criminal justice systems. Consequently, the research concludes that the problem of organized crime in Ecuador requires the implementation of severe and drastic measures, including harsher penalties according to the seriousness of each offense in a fair and proportional manner. However, it also requires internal and external reforms within the criminal and penitentiary systems, such as effective control over persons deprived of liberty and the fight against corruption within all public institutions. Furthermore, it is necessary to implement maximum-security prison segmentation for high-severity crimes, while ensuring that correctional centers for lesser offenses truly fulfill a rehabilitative purpose.Item La responsabilidad social y desarrollo comunitario de las cooperativas de ahorro y crédito(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-07-10) Caguasango Chanatasig, Dayana Abigail; Ortiz Díaz, Marcelo IvánThe present research was developed in the field of cooperativism of the Ambato canton where the importance of social responsibility in community development was taken into account. The understanding of economic violence was analyzed through three central categories: its manifestation, the context in which it occurs, and its consequences for female students. The overall objective of this research was to analyze economic violence among female students at the "Mis Guaytambos" Pre-University School in the city of Ambato. The target population consisted of 25 women between the ages of 17 and 22. A semi-structured interview was conducted using a qualitative methodology, with a 12- question instrument developed and subsequently validated by expert review. Through content analysis and the use of word cloud tools, patterns and similarities were identified in the experiences of the interviewees, facilitating an understanding of how these violent situations manifest in family settings and intimate relationships. The results showed that this type of violence generates insecurity, forced dependence, and enables the coexistence of other forms of abuse. Finally, a social work intervention proposal was developed, divided into four key phases: diagnosis and case detection, prevention and awareness-raising regarding economic violence, intervention and psychosocial support, and inter-institutional coordination.Item El sentido de pertenencia y desempeño académico en estudiantes universitarios(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-07-10) López Aguilar, Milton Fabian; Naranjo Ruiz, Viviana FidenciaA sense of belonging in higher education is a key factor in the holistic development of young people, influencing their retention, well-being, and institutional adjustment. Its importance today stems from the need to understand how affective bonds and identification with the university reduce the risk of demotivation and dropout. In Ecuador, strengthening these bonds is fundamental to improving student success indicators in public universities. The objective of this study was to analyze the influence of a sense of belonging on the academic performance of university students at the Universidad Técnica de Ambato (UTA). A quantitative approach with descriptive, correlational, and explanatory scope was used. The sample consisted of 128 students from the Basic Education and Psychopedagogy programs in the Faculty of Humanities and Education at UTA, who completed a structured survey to assess the Sense of Belonging Index (SBI) and the Academic Performance Index (API), which are behavioral in nature. The analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, Spearman's rho correlation, and simple linear regression. The results reveal a moderate positive relationship between the two variables (rho = 0.413), and that a sense of belonging explains 21.0% of the variability in academic performance. Variables such as institutional empowerment and environmental safety showed the strongest relationships with student success. As a final contribution, institutional management recommendations are proposed, aimed at strengthening physical security, optimizing the classroom climate, and implementing support programs and early warning systems to prevent academic underachievement.Item Relaciones Humanas y Bienestar Social en estudiantes de bachillerato(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-07-10) Landa Gonzales, Heidy Monserrat; Altamirano Altamirano, Silvia JovannaThis research addressed human relations and social well-being among high school students at the “Pedro Fermin Cevallos” Educational Unit, with the purpose of understanding how the quality of coexistence, communication, empathy, and mutual support influenced their school integration and perception of well-being. De Pink Floyd(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Comunicación, 2026-07-10) Espinoza Guerrero, Diego Salomon; Naranjo Gamboa, Byron OrlandoThe persistence of authoritarian structures within the educational system has generated processes of control, discipline, and homogenization that limit critical thinking and individual autonomy. In this context, cultural products emerge as spaces for the representation and questioning of these power dynamics. This study analyzes how the song Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2 by Pink Floyd constructs a narrative of resistance against such structures, from the perspective of critical discourse analysis. A qualitative descriptiveinterpretative methodology was employed, based on discourse and semiotic analysis, as well as a review of the socio-historical context of the work. The results show that the educational system is represented as a space of control and homogenization, where both students and teachers reproduce relations of domination. The music video reinforces this critique through symbols of dehumanization, mechanization, and loss of identity. The discussion suggests that the work not only reproduces these relations but also challenges them, promoting a critical reading and possibilities for symbolic resistance. It is concluded that the song constitutes a cultural product with strong ideological content that makes visible structures of social control.Item Estereotipos y tabúes frente a la vinculación de la mujer en el periodismo deportivo en la ciudad de Ambato(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Comunicación, 2026-07-10) Mata Samaniego, Edwin Alexander; Ortega Arcos, Wagner EnriqueIn recent years, the presence of women in sports journalism has increased, but there are still stereotypes, job barriers and social perceptions that condition their professional recognition in sports media. From there, the objective of the work was to examine the stereotypes and taboos that affect the participation of women in sports journalism in the Discriminación city of Ambato, contextualizing the various gender dynamics that manifests itself in this medium. A mixed approach design was carried out, quantitative and qualitative techniques were used, in the quantitative part a survey was applied to 183 participants from the area of communication and sports, and semi-structured interviews were conducted with women sports journalists, in order to know their experiences and perceptions in the professional field. The results allowed to verify the existence of stereotypes in relation to the professional capacity of women and perceptions related to discrimination, inequality of opportunities and difficulties of access to both sports spaces and positions of greater responsibility. It has also been seen that, although the participation of women has been increasing, there are still obstacles regarding credibility and professional recognition in the world of sports media. It is concluded that sports journalism continues to see its participation and professional evaluation conditioned by traditionally masculinized structures. But there are also advances in the greater presence of women and in the empowerment of new dynamics of participation in the communication and sports sphere.
