The understanding of economic violence was analyzed through three central categories: its manifestation, the context in which it occurs, and its consequences for female students. The overall objective of this research was to analyze economic violence among female students at the "Mis Guaytambos" Pre-University School in the city of Ambato. The target population consisted of 25 women between the ages of 17 and 22. A semi-structured interview was conducted using a qualitative methodology, with a 12- question instrument developed and subsequently validated by expert review. Through content analysis and the use of word cloud tools, patterns and similarities were identified in the experiences of the interviewees, facilitating an understanding of how these violent situations manifest in family settings and intimate relationships. The results showed that this type of violence generates insecurity, forced dependence, and enables the coexistence of other forms of abuse. Finally, a social work intervention proposal was developed, divided into four key phases: diagnosis and case detection, prevention and awareness-raising regarding economic violence, intervention and psychosocial support, and inter-institutional coordination.Item type:Ítem, El sentido de pertenencia y desempeño académico en estudiantes universitarios(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-07-10) ;López Aguilar, Milton FabianNaranjo Ruiz, Viviana FidenciaA sense of belonging in higher education is a key factor in the holistic development of young people, influencing their retention, well-being, and institutional adjustment. Its importance today stems from the need to understand how affective bonds and identification with the university reduce the risk of demotivation and dropout. In Ecuador, strengthening these bonds is fundamental to improving student success indicators in public universities. The objective of this study was to analyze the influence of a sense of belonging on the academic performance of university students at the Universidad Técnica de Ambato (UTA). A quantitative approach with descriptive, correlational, and explanatory scope was used. The sample consisted of 128 students from the Basic Education and Psychopedagogy programs in the Faculty of Humanities and Education at UTA, who completed a structured survey to assess the Sense of Belonging Index (SBI) and the Academic Performance Index (API), which are behavioral in nature. The analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, Spearman's rho correlation, and simple linear regression. The results reveal a moderate positive relationship between the two variables (rho = 0.413), and that a sense of belonging explains 21.0% of the variability in academic performance. Variables such as institutional empowerment and environmental safety showed the strongest relationships with student success. As a final contribution, institutional management recommendations are proposed, aimed at strengthening physical security, optimizing the classroom climate, and implementing support programs and early warning systems to prevent academic underachievement.Item type:Ítem, Relaciones Humanas y Bienestar Social en estudiantes de bachillerato(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-07-10) ;Landa Gonzales, Heidy MonserratAltamirano Altamirano, Silvia JovannaThis research addressed human relations and social well-being among high school students at the “Pedro Fermin Cevallos” Educational Unit, with the purpose of understanding how the quality of coexistence, communication, empathy, and mutual support influenced their school integration and perception of well-being. The presence of limited interpersonal bonds, communication difficulties, and varying levels of participation was identified, aspects that affected the sense of belonging, coexistence, and emotional stability of some students. The study aimed to analyze the influence of human relations on the social well-being of high school students. A quantitative approach was used, employing descriptive and correlational levels, each with its respective analytical-synthetic, deductive, and hypothetical-deductive methods. The population consisted of 180 first-, second-, and third-year high school students, to whom validated instruments for both variables were administered. The analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and Spearman's rho correlation. Among the main findings, it was evident that respect, assertive communication, and empathy strengthened school coexistence, while a lack of support and unhealthy relationships negatively impacted social integration, participation, and emotional security. It was also found that the principles of human relations, their effects, and factors of social well-being were significantly related. In conclusion, it was determined that human relations were an essential component for promoting a harmonious educational environment and fostering the social well-being of adolescents.Item type:Ítem, Intervención del Trabajo Social en el programa Cáritas de la Diócesis de Ambato(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-07-10) ;Jácome Santana, Jaime WladimirHaro Lara, Aída PatriciaThe objective of the research work was to analyze the effectiveness of the intervention of Social Work in the Caritas Program of the Diocese of Ambato to improve the quality of life of beneficiaries in vulnerable situations. A mixed approach was used, a descriptive, documentary and field research. A survey of 60 users of the program and an interview with six members of the Caritas team were used. The results obtained determined that the majority of users do not perceive an effective intervention with respect to specific needs. In addition, 73.3% disagree that the aid provided by Caritas has been purely focused on meeting their vital needs. At the same time, 50% of the users determine that the social promoters of the program do not have adequate information regarding the methodologies, techniques and strategies used by Social Work, which are important tools for the optimal development of activities, which is why the quality of the Intervention is limited. It is significant that the program considers integrating professionals in Social Work, who can develop in the field of action and present specific needs, in addition to providing strategies specific to the profession that allow the effectiveness of the intervention for the benefit of society.Item type:Ítem, Maternidades en jóvenes estudiantes universitarias(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-07-09) ;Chonata Luna, Vanessa TatianaPino Loza, Eulalia DoloresThis research analyzes the experience of motherhood among social work students at the Technical University of Ambato, aiming to identify and describe the factors that influence motherhood during their academic training. The study employed a mixed-methods, descriptiveexploratory approach, supported by a hypothetical-deductive method, which allowed for a comprehensive examination of the phenomenon. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews and a structured questionnaire administered to student mothers during the academic period of August 2025 to February 2026. The results show that motherhood in the university context is, in most cases, unplanned and primarily driven by economic and cultural factors, as well as insufficient family planning, thus confirming the proposed hypothesis. The study also found that students faced a variety of difficulties, including physical exhaustion, emotional consequences such as fear, uncertainty, and guilt, financial dependence, and challenges in balancing their professional and maternal responsibilities. Within the family sphere, although initial reactions are often surprise or concern, support remains a fundamental element for the continuation of their studies. On the other hand, in the academic context, an initial negative effect on performance is evident, followed by a gradual adaptation through time management strategies, although the limited existence of institutional support mechanisms is acknowledged. In conclusion, motherhood for university students is a complex phenomenon that affects various dimensions of their lives; however, family support and coping strategies can mitigate its effects. In this regard, the need to strengthen an inclusive institutional policy that guarantees the retention, equality, and holistic development of student mothers within the higher education system is emphasized.Item type:Ítem, Educación intercultural y participación comunitaria(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-07-09) ;Tubón Guamán, Erick StalinEspín Miniguano, Anita DalilaIntercultural education is essential in the Salasaka community; it helps us keep our cultural identity alive and promote community participation. Currently, globalization and modernization, along with shifting interests among young people, have led to a decline in the transmission of ancestral knowledge and participation in community activities. The objective was to determine the influence of intercultural education on community participation among young people. The study was conducted using a qualitative approach and involved 15 young people from the Salasaka parish. The technique used was a semi-structured interview consisting of 9 prepared questions. Based on the creation of a predefined matrix, categories related to interculturality, ancestral knowledge, cultural identity, mingas, youth leadership, social participation, and community strengthening were identified. The analysis and coding of the data were performed using ATLAS.ti software. It was evident that community participation strengthened leadership, shared responsibility, and a sense of belonging among the youth. Additionally, challenges related to generational changes, sociocultural transformations, and the use of technological resources were identified. Among the factors contributing to intercultural education, the transmission of knowledge, the use of the Quichua language, local customs, and community life were identified as elements that strengthened and promoted cultural identity among young people.Item type:Ítem, Cultura Organizacional y Derecho a la Desconexión Digital Laboral(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-07-09) ;Lizano Paredes, Jennifer PaulinaOrtiz Díaz, Marcelo IvánThis research aimed to determine the influence of organizational culture on the right to digital disconnection at work among employees of Corporación Impactex and Static Moda, located in Ambato, Ecuador. The study arose from the need to understand how organizational dynamics and the increasing use of digital technologies may affect employees' rest periods and overall wellbeing. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach with descriptive and correlational levels. The population consisted of 100 employees from both administrative and operational areas of the two companies; therefore, the entire population was included in the study. Data were collected through the Denison Organizational Culture Survey and an instrument adapted from the Digital Disconnection Survey developed by the National Institute for Safety and Health at Work (INSST). The results revealed favorable levels of organizational culture, particularly regarding employee commitment, organizational mission, adaptability, and consistency. However, limited knowledge about the right to digital disconnection and a moderate level of availability outside working hours were identified, especially among administrative staff. The Spearman correlation test yielded a correlation coefficient of ρ = -0.018 and a significance level of 0.856, indicating that there is no statistically significant relationship between organizational culture and the right to digital disconnection at work. Consequently, the null hypothesis was accepted. It was concluded that although the organizations studied exhibit a favorable organizational culture, this does not necessarily guarantee the effective exercise of the right to digital disconnection. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen institutional policies, employee training, and organizational strategies aimed at preventing workplace hyperconnectivity.Item type:Ítem, Interseccionalidad y permanencia en Carreras de Ingeniería(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-07-09) ;Oñate Villalba, Dayana MadeleinChiliquinga Vejar, Lorena Del CarmenThe permanence of women in engineering careers constitutes a relevant challenge in higher education, due to structural, social and cultural inequalities in STEM areas. The present research analyzes the relationship between intersectionality and the permanence of women in engineering careers at the Technical University of Ambato, considering factors such as gender, socioeconomic situation and social context that influence their academic career. The study was developed from an intersectional perspective taking into account the impact of economic, educational, cultural and social factors on the continuity of students within higher education. To achieve this, a mixed methodological approach was used that integrated quantitative and qualitative tools with the purpose of obtaining a broad understanding of the phenomenon. In the quantitative phase, a questionnaire was applied to engineering students, focused on analyzing variables such as family environment, academic motivation, social support, vocational guidance and the perception of gender inequality. Additionally, in the qualitative phase, an interview guide was carried out that was validated by experts, which allowed us to know the experiences and perceptions of the participants about their academic permanence. The results show that the permanence of women in engineering does not depend only on academic performance, but also on structural and sociocultural factors, gender stereotypes, economic limitations, social barriers and the level of institutional support. In this sense, research provides evidence to strengthen policies and strategies aimed at promoting gender equity, inclusion and continuity of women in higher education.Item type:Ítem, La Gestión del Talento Humano y el clima organizacional en la Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-07-09) ;Molina Loján, Arleth NoemíOrtiz Díaz, Marcelo IvánThe objective of this research was to analyze the impact of Human Talent Management on the Organizational Climate among administrative, managerial, and teaching staff at the Technical University of Cotopaxi – Pujilí Campus.
