    Optimización del proceso y tiempos en la elaboración de bancas en la empresa Siderúrgica Tungurahua

    For this project, a time and process optimization’s proposal was made for a company called Siderúrgica Tungurahua S.A in Ambato city, In order to achieve this, a new metodology’s approach has been made and for starting, it has been stablished a current diagnosis of the situation and after analyzing it, the improvement proposal has been presented. First, an evaluation of all the activities that are made in the current process was needed so all the actions generated in the production area and their duration were registered, this helped to start the time’s study in which the real duration is known and later, a time standar could be determinated and it will be stablished as a referential duration for each process, by doing this the employees’ permormance will be assessed. After this, the new strategies which main goals are to change and remove the needless functions are stablished and these strategies looks for coding the equipment,machinary and raw materials that the company has in order to make it easier when they have to make an inventory. Finally, an activies’ standardization was stablished in which all employees will know their functions from the beginning to end and in this way delays will be prevented. This will be reached by showing the employees schematics, diagrams and flowcharts, which will help to modify the previous time registered and with all of this, all the goals stablished in this investigation will be achieved.

    Optimización de tiempos de producción en la fabricación de asientos de pasajeros y conductor para buses de servicio interprovincial, en la empresa IMEISA de la ciudad de Ambato

    This technical project was developed, obtaining production times in the manufacture of seats for buses, by taking times and movements in each of the processes and activities that intervene in the production chain, the report of each of these was made, According to what the company requested, thus managing to identify where there were problems and thus, reduce times in the manufacture of the product, through the redistribution of workspaces, a distribution plan was made in the metalworking sector of the company also implemented the relocation of the machinery, with a continuous flow of the product. Records and specification sheets were made to generate a better production flow, reducing times and movements that did not add value to the process. According to the reengineering of the processes that was implemented, the results of production times that were being managed in the company were compared, and the production times after the relocation of jobs and machinery, represented in graphs times vs. processes, achieving: reduce manufacturing times, a better distribution in the execution of each process in the metalworking area and order in the handling of tools and machinery. Which generate profitability for the manufacture of this product especially when they are lots of considerable quantities.

    The optimization of production times was developed in the manufacture of metal boxes for electric meters, by taking time and movements of the processes and activities that intervene in the production chain, for its subsequent reengineering, thus achieving the identification of improvement aspects that allowed to reduce manufacturing times of the product through the redistribution of workspaces, unification of processes, records and specification sheets to generate a better production flow, reducing times and movements or routes that did not add value to the process. The results of the implementation of the reengineering of the processes was the expected since it was possible to reduce manufacturing times, with a saving of 7% of the total manufacturing time and in unnecessary displacements it was possible to reduce the 5%, which generates profitability to the manufacture of this product especially when they are lots of considerable quantities.

    El proyecto de Investigación “Estudio de Sistemas de Lavado de Botellas para la optimización de tiempos de producción en el Proceso de Embotellado en el Laboratorio de Automatización y Control de la Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica de la Universidad Técnica de Ambato", se realizó debido a la importancia de implementar un sistema de lavado automático para mejorar la producción en el prototipo de embotelladora y a su vez de implementar con elementos prácticos el Laboratorio de automatización. Inicialmente se recopila información básica acerca del proceso de lavado de botellas, de los tipos de máquinas lavadoras existentes y la teoría que nos ayude a entender el funcionamiento y comportamiento de los distintos elementos constitutivos de dicha máquina. Para seleccionar la mejor opción que permita mejorar el lavado y a su vez la producción dentro del prototipo de embotellado se consideraron dos alternativas en los cuales se realizó un análisis orientado a la funcionalidad, mantenimiento, operación y costo de fabricación. Luego de haber considerado la mejor opción se procede a diseñar y seleccionar cada uno de los elementos que conforman la Máquina Lavadora de Botellas. Después del diseño de cada uno de los elementos de la máquina se realiza un análisis económico para saber el costo aproximado de la construcción de la Máquina Lavadora de botellas.
