    For the realization of this project, the geometric parameters requested by the sponsoring company were taken as a starting point, once they were delimited, the design was carried out considering the machinery and equipment available in the company. Once the design was approved by the company, calculations were made based on the PVC, which is the material to be injected, and the injection machine where the mold would be used, to ensure the correct operation and cooling of the mold. Resulting in estimated feed channel values and ensuring adequate heat dissipation in each injection cycle. Subsequently, the mold was manufactured with the machinery available in the company, performing machining tasks in CNC machines and manual operations according to the need, to finally assemble the mold and mount it in the injection machine for the operation tests, thus validating the calculations and parameters used in the sizing of the mold.

    The execution is carried out with the investigation of legal regulations that authorize the design and construction of eye protectors and that is legally permitted in Ecuador, this being the official registry RTE INEN 216, which cites the standard EN 166: 2001 as reference for the design and construction of eye protectors. In accordance with the beneficiary company, a design for "glasses with lateral protection" is established and focuses on optimizing conventional designs under the concept of less, moreover, providing greater protection of the eye area proposed by the standard mentioned with a product of three elements that are assembled by adjustment and without metallic pins. The final geometry was obtained after several designs that were captured in prototypes by means of molten deposition molding (3D printing) and served as a guide to visualize constructive details. Once the 3D geometry was established, the CAD design of the matrix for injection molding was carried out, where the parameters of the injection machines were used for the design of two injection molds, injection pressure parameters, closing force, and injection capacity define the geometry of the mold and number of cavities. Each element of the injection molds was built, with a manufacturing process by chip removal that allows obtaining each mechanized element. To then be assembled piece by piece and then mounted on the injection machine, where injection tests were carried out until the desired product was obtained.

    Injection molding is going through for a technological transformation with trends such as: intelligent machines that are solutions that can be optimized themselves, the automation can now control virtually any industrial process, the sensor that can detect a wide range of magnitudes and the additive manufacturing that allows small productions of pieces, the elaboration of pieces of high complexity at low costs, the construction of molds, among others. The national competition has forced the company Halley Corporation to supplement its safety kit with hearing protectors, the importance of this project is that a plastic injection mold was built, contributing to the exploitation of the industry. In the present work the piece was designed in a specialized software, injection mold components were designed, feed, ejection and refrigeration systems were designed using only written bibliographies, in addition the mold components were machined with calculations based on the tools of the company. The final product obtained ratifies that the design was correct , there were no disadvantages when trying the mold and to make the assembly with the rest of the elements that make up the safety kit.

    In the present project the design and construction of a plastic injection machine with the capacity to manufacture pieces of up to 50 grams of weight for the company “D & J SECOIN CIA. LTDA.” of the city of Quito. For the development of this work has been considered the cost and size of the machine, for that reason a study of the injection methods and the form of the injection machines was carried out. This was carried out an analysis of the alternatives and with this to establish the most suitable design option. The calculations of all the mechanical parts and the selection of the elements that integrated the machine were carried out, after which performance tests were carried out to determine the feed rate, plastification temperature, injection time and cooling. There has also been a manual of operation and maintenance of the machine to provide safety to the operator and proper operation. The corresponding plans for the construction of the injection machine were elaborated.

    This project was developed in the city of Ambato in the company "COVIPLAST", the interest of the company for the construction of this matrix lies in the need to produce a new product. For the design of the matrix should be considered different parameters such as: material to be injected, the injection machine to be used, the characteristics of the product to be developed, the materials to be used in the construction of the Matrix. The design starts with the calculation of number of cavities, then with the conFiguration of the matrix, calculation of the injection pressure and closing force, then the mould holder was selected. The sizing and resistance test of the plates is done by means of finite element analysis. The construction and assembly of the Matrix was carried out in the workshop where it was manufactured using the economic, material and human resources of the same. The Assembly of the Matrix was carried out in the company to ensure its correct operation by means of injection tests.
