Item Implementación de la metodología 5S para incrementar la eficiencia operativa en la empresa Preplast en la provincia de Tungurahua, cantón Ambato.(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica., 2025-02) Pérez Péres, Diego Alexander; Analuiza Maiza, Oscar IvánOne of the primary challenges affecting the operational process at PREPLAST is the lack of efficiency among production personnel due to the absence of the 5S methodology. This method, originating in Japan, focuses on principles of order, cleanliness, classification, standardization, and discipline within production processes, contributing to the improvement of working conditions. This research study evaluates the impact of implementing the 5S methodology in PREPLAST’s production area, analyzing order fulfillment rates, process optimization, and waste reduction. Prior to its implementation, 75 per cent of orders were completed on time. Through data collection and employee feedback, the study identified key areas for improvement, including reduced search times, minimized production waste, and enhanced workplace organization. The results demonstrate a significant improvement in work area organization, waste minimization, and employee engagement. The workforce reported increased satisfaction and confidence in workplace conditions, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Upon full implementation of the 5S methodology, order fulfillment rates increased to 94 per cent, and overall operational efficiency saw a marked improvement.Item Diseño de un sistema integrado de gestión de calidad, medio ambiente, seguridad y salud ocupacional en la empresa carrocerías Alme en la provincia de Tungurahua cantón Ambato(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2020-08) Solis Cáceres, Johanna Del Cisne; Castro Miniguano, Byron ChristianThe present technical project was developed in the company ALME located in the province of Tungurahua, canton Ambato, through a study of the current situation of the organization under the observation method, the same that was the guideline for the design of the integrated quality management system, Environment, Occupational safety and health. As a starting point, the requirements of the respective standards used as ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14500:2018 were investigated, in turn under the bibliographic research of the legislation of our country was identified in the legal framework of the respective agencies, so an internal health and hygiene regulation and a waste minimization programmed were developed. In addition, the manual of the integrated system guide was generated that will serve for the implementation of the system under the respective guidelines of the aforementioned standards, where the documented information necessary for this purpose is located and contributing to the development of the company. This project underscores the importance of customer satisfaction or stakeholders in the organization, as well as environmental care and occupational risk prevention.Item Análisis de recubrimientos utilizados sobre el material compuesto (fibra de carbono + resina epoxi) y su incidencia en la calidad de las aeronaves fabricadas en el centro de investigación y desarrollo de la Fuerza Aérea Ecuatoriana(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2017) Mayorga Chávez, Richard Gustavo; Paredes Salinas, Juan GilbertoAt present, the Ecuadorian Air Force has the capacity and the necessary technology for the creation and construction of unmanned airship called UAV, so the following study was focused on determining the Quality of Painted Surfaces, for which were analyzed different types of paint such as; SHERWIN WILLIAMS, VARNISH and GEL COATS. For the development of the investigation were made test pieces elaborated of composite material (carbon fiber + epoxy resin), analyzing factors of quality such as: Film Thickness, Weight, Adherence, Roughness and Accelerated Aging. The study was developed on the basis of international standards such as: ASTM D3359, ASTM G155 and SSPC-PA2. Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2016) Astudillo Bautista, Fausto Sebastian; Arroba Arroba, César HernánIn the seating industry passenger bus in the country the process of construction of the structure of the seats is done by hand because there are no studies on the strength of the structure is reflected, and most producers already have their model defined and shaped, that is where the implementation of the rules NTE INEN 2708 as it focuses not comply with those rules. In this study the mechanical properties of the materials were determined by uniaxial tensile test of materials constituting the structure of the two seat models which are manufactured in the company Seat System AMERICAN with the finite element method the resistance was found of the whole seat structure applying loads at different positions and heights as indicated by the standard INEN NTE 2708 in appendix 12. After simulating the seat strength it was found that the seat resists all the time of application of the load thus fulfilling the Ecuadorian NTE INEN 2708 standard.Item Estudio del proceso de pintura bajo la utilización de diferentes marcas de recubrimientos sobre material galvanizado y fibra de vidrio y su incidencia en la calidad del acabado superficial de los buses fabricados en la empresa Impedsa(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica. Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2015-04) Santos Cueva, Wellington Vinicio; Paredes Salinas, Juan GilbertoEn la actualidad el control de calidad en la Industria Carrocera resulta de gran importancia, por lo que el siguiente estudio estuvo enfocado a determinar la Calidad del Acabado de Superficies Pintadas para lo cual se realizaron estudios sobre los recubrimientos de Pintura PPG, GLASURIT Y SHERWIN WILLIAMS. Para el desarrollo de la investigación se realizaron distintas disposiciones de materiales, con un total de cuatro configuraciones: Galvanizado, Fibra de Vidrio, Galvanizado + Masilla y Fibra de Vidrio + Masilla, analizando factores de calidad como son: Espesores de Película, Adherencia, Rugosidad y Envejecimiento Acelerado, sometidas a estudio mediante equipos de ultrasonido, microscopio de barrido, cámara de envejecimiento acelerado y cortador de trama cruzada los cuales fueron necesarios para el desarrollo de la investigación. El estudio fue desarrollado bajo la fundamentación de normas internacionales como: ASTM D4414, ASTM D3359, ASTM G155 y SSPC - PA 2, las mismas que permitieron un proceso adecuado de obtención de datos y recapitulación de información que servirá como aporte experimental para futuras investigaciones. Concluido el proceso investigativo, se encontró que las probetas a las cuales se aplicó el recubrimiento PPG, presentan mejores características de calidad en acabado de superficies pintadas de Autobuses en comparación con los otros recubrimientos, respondiendo a las diversas necesidades con alta tecnología en recubrimientos.
