    At both regional and national levels, the lack of comprehensive technological solutions within public sector infrastructure affects staff performance and generates labor-related discrepancies. In this context, the Human Resources Department of SIS ECU 911 Zonal 3 faced limitations in attendance and leave management due to manual processes and spreadsheet-based records, which led to operational delays, loss of traceability, and risks in data handling. To contribute to the improvement of these processes, this project proposes the implementation of a web application based on the Single Page Application (SPA) architecture for attendance and leave management. To achieve this, an analysis of the existing administrative processes and a study of the technical foundations of the SPA model were conducted, enabling the definition of a decoupled architecture focused on the centralization and automation of institutional information. The developed system integrated functionalities for biometric record synchronization, automated attendance processing, vacation and balance inquiries, as well as digital leave management through approval and electronic signature workflows. As a result, the application reduced manual activities related to attendance processing and leave management, improving consultation times, traceability, and access to information for institutional personnel. Furthermore, data centralization facilitated administrative control within the Human Resources Department. This work represents a technological alternative aimed at strengthening the institution’s administrative management by providing a centralized, secure, and adaptable web-based solution tailored to its operational needs.

    This work evaluates the performance degradation and resource efficiency of FastAPI and Express.js under emulated network conditions. The study addresses the impact of telecommunications congestion on service reliability, a factor often overlooked. The work is aligned with the research line of Software, Information Technologies, and Data Science. To this end, a quantitative experimental design is employed in a hardware-isolated container environment. First, the baseline of both frameworks is determined under ideal conditions. Then, they are analyzed under latency and packet loss scenarios by injecting symmetric network chaos using statistical profiles from M-Lab Ecuador. Through transactional stress tests, efficiency is compared by measuring extreme latency, resource consumption, and garbage collection activity. The results show that a degraded network reduces the transactional throughput of both frameworks to equivalent levels, eliminating the advantage in terms of latency and responsiveness that FastAPI exhibits under stable conditions, even though the latter retains a significantly higher processing efficiency. Faced with connection retention, Express.js saturates the CPU due to the execution of garbage collection routines, whereas FastAPI demonstrates progressive memory retention. Neither framework alone is suitable for services deployed on degraded infrastructures; therefore, the implementation of fault tolerance patterns is required.

    Document management is an essential component in public institutions, as it ensures timely, secure, and organized access to information. In the case of the Empresa Pública Municipal Mercado Mayorista Ambato (EP-EMA), deficiencies were identified in the handling and control of documents, limiting administrative efficiency and compliance with regulations. This situation motivated the search for a technological solution to modernize the institution’s document management processes. The project proposed the implementation of an Integrated Document Management and Tracking System (SIGD) based on open-source tools and web technologies. The solution is designed to integrate the various document flows of the organization, allowing for a structured administration of information from its creation to its archiving or elimination, following principles such as authenticity, integrity, and availability. The project development was based on technical, organizational, and regulatory analysis, ensuring that the proposed system would be scalable, sustainable, and aligned with current regulatory frameworks, including ISO 15489, ISO 30301, and the Technical Regulation for the Organization and Maintenance of Public Archives. As a result, a web application was implemented to meet the institution’s requirements. The project was managed using the Xtreme Programming (XP) methodology, which allowed flexible execution adapted to the available resources. The implemented solution improved the organization, accessibility, and traceability of information. Additionally, it is expected to strengthen administrative processes and promote a more efficient, transparent, and results-oriented organizational culture.

    This research focused on the design and implementation of a responsive web application based on open-source frameworks for inventory and sales management at Don Llambo, a meat processing and distribution company located in the rural parish of Pilahuín. The study emerged from the need to modernize the company's operational processes, which were previously performed manually, leading to delays, frequent errors, and limited traceability in inventory control and sales record management. Data collection was carried out through a structured interview with the manager and Likertscale surveys administered to operational staff. The development process followed the Extreme Programming (XP) methodology through three iterations, enabling incremental progress and prioritizing key functionalities such as digital producto registration, JWT-based authentication, role-based access control, and automatic PDF receipt generation. The solution was developed using Angular 17 for the frontend, .NET 9 for the backend, and SQL Server on Azure as the database management system. This architecture allows users to access the system from any device equipped with a web browser without requiring local software installation. The results obtained from seventeen acceptance tests conducted with company personnel demonstrated a reduction in inventory reconciliation discrepancies compared to the previous manual process, as well as improvements in sales registration times. These findings validate the effectiveness of the proposed technological solution in addressing the operational challenges initially identified and contribute to improving the efficiency, reliability, and traceability of inventory and sales management processes.

    Digital transformation has changed the way companies manage their products and interact with their customers. Small and medium-sized enterprises have found in web applications a key tool for modernizing their business processes and improving the user experience through digital catalogs accessible from any device. The main objective of this project was to develop a web application for Ecology Muebles, a company dedicated to the commercialization of home furniture in the province of Tungurahua. The company managed its processes manually through spreadsheets and informal channels such as WhatsApp and Marketplace, which resulted in disorganized information, delays in customer service, and a lack of reports for decision-making. The research was conducted under the bibliographic documentary modality, using structured interviews with the manager and the sales department, as well as a survey of fourteen clients, which made it possible to identify 21 functional requirements and 8 non-functional requirements. The implemented architecture follows the MVC pattern, using ASP.NET Core Web API in the backend, Vite React in the frontend, and SQL Server Developer as the database management system, following the five phases of the Waterfall methodology. The result was a web application featuring a digital catalog filtered by categories, a purchase process with WhatsApp notification, inventory management with automatic stock updates, sales records, statistical reports, and role-based access control.

    This research addresses the challenges faced by the company Fabricación de Calzado GOB, which experiences difficulties in determining its production costs due to the use of traditional methods based on spreadsheets and physical records. These practices generate errors, delays, and negatively affect competitiveness in a sector characterized by high demand and the presence of imported products. The main objective is to implement an information system using .NET technology to accurately analyze production costs in the footwear line. The proposal is supported by a systematic review of national and international literature on costing methodologies and the impact of information technologies on industrial processes. The developed system integrates modules for information recording, relies on a SQL Server 2019 Express database, and is built in Visual Studio Community 2022. The agile methodology Kanban is applied, facilitating work organization and adaptation to changes during development. Functional, integration, performance, and usability tests confirm the reliability of the solution. The results show that the system optimizes unit cost calculation and improves information traceability. It is concluded that the proposal constitutes a technological contribution that increases efficiency and profitability, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of the company within the Ecuadorian footwear sector.

    This project arises from the need for a system that preserves the fluidity of the communication channels preferred by clients while centralizing the collected information to enable traceability and auditing. To achieve this, the project leverages modern technologies based on artificial intelligence. The project included an assessment of the company’s needs and the resources available to address them. Based on this analysis, it was determined that the solution would be implemented as an Odoo module integrated into the system currently in operation, incorporating technologies such as LangChain and pgvector to enable artificial intelligence capabilities. Additionally, a literature review was conducted on technologies, software architectures, and best practices related to the use of natural language models. The resulting system is capable of maintaining a conversational interaction with the user and, based on the user’s needs and the given context, can make decisions such as registering a new support ticket, responding to user inquiries, or retrieving information about tickets related to a specific issue.

    This work shows the design and the building of an operational Business Intelligence subsystem. Its goal is to monitor and control non-technical energy losses at EEASA. This control is an important task for the power distribution companies of the National Interconnected System of Ecuador. These companies follow the rules of the Agency for Regulation and Control of Electricity (ARCONEL). The Empresa Eléctrica Ambato Regional Centro Norte S.A. (EEASA) does this task with spreadsheets and manual work. Each cycle takes five to ten days, and it covers only a part of more than 300,000 contract accounts. The research uses the Kimball DW/BI Lifecycle together with Hefesto for the dimensional modeling of the Data Warehouse. The data was collected with one structured interview and direct observation of the current process. The subsystem has an ETL pipeline that reads the BIL038 files from SAP CIS/CRM. It also detects anomalies by statistical deviation, assigns geographic zones to field inspectors, and shows a dashboard with key indicators. The new system makes each cycle shorter than one hour. In each load it processes all the accounts in the BIL038 file, that is, 341,270 accounts with a reading. The old manual process covered only a part of them. The main technical contribution is the automated change of the horizontal billing format into a vertical dimensional model. This model is needed to compare the consumption of past months. The system makes this change with stored procedures on an Oracle database.

    This project arose from the need for a system to centrally manage IT assets at Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito Kullki Wasi Ltda., since the IT Support Area carried out its processes manually using Excel spreadsheets, without automated validations or traceability, generating operational times of up to 30 minutes per assignment, poor information control, and difficulties in meeting the regulatory standards required by the SEPS. The process began with a diagnosis of the current state through semi-structured interviews and observation sheets applied to the IT Chief and two support technicians, identifying eight critical problems grouped into four dimensions. Subsequently, six components of the ITIL 4 best practices framework applicable to the solution design were identified, and development was carried out using the Scrumban methodology across five sprints, integrating modules for asset management, configuration, maintenance, evidence, and traceability. Results showed reductions of 92 percent in asset query time, 80 percent in maintenance documentation generation, and 100 percent in inventory report construction. The system was evaluated using the SUS questionnaire, obtaining an average score of 80.8 points, placing it in the good usability range, and recorded 339 audit events across 142 assets managed in production. It is concluded that the developed web application constitutes a viable system that centralizes the traceability of the technological asset lifecycle, strengthens regulatory compliance with the SEPS, and raises the IT management maturity level of the Cooperative.

    Helpdesk usando herramientas Open Source para la gestión de incidencias de soporte técnico en el Gad Municipal de Pelileo

    This thesis presents the development of a web-based HelpDesk system using Open Source tools for the management of technical support incidents at the Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado Municipal de Pelileo. The initial diagnosis, conducted through surveys, interviews, and direct observation on a census population of 75 municipal employees, identified two major bottlenecks: the lack of a formal incident registration system and the absence of control over response times and Service Level Agreements (SLA), which were managed through informal channels such as phone calls and WhatsApp messages. The proposed solution was aligned with IT service management best practices, implementing a digital Single Point of Contact (SPOC) that enables the structured registration, categorization, prioritization, and resolution of incidents. The system includes key modules such as ticket management, automatic SLA calculation, institutional knowledge base, and real-time analytical reports. The technological stack consisted of Next.js 14, Node.js with Express.js, NextAuth.js with JWT, Tailwind CSS, and Oracle Database 19c, selected according to the institution’s requirements. The development followed the Extreme Programming (XP) methodology, organized in 5 iterations with 18 user stories, achieving user acceptance testing approval.
