    The purpose of this thesis was to analyze the current state of information literacy (IL) in the university community of the National University of Chimborazo (UNACH) with the goal of designing a training proposal that strengthens the development of information skills. Information literacy is an essential element in the academic field, as it allows students to identify, locate, evaluate, and use information effectively, contributing to their educational and professional performance. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach and employed techniques such as interviews with academic authorities and observation in study and learning environments. This analysis identified that the universit y community faces difficulties in using technological tools and digital resources, as well as significant information gaps in key competencies, such as critical evaluation of sources and ethical management of information. Based on these findings, a training proposal was designed, structured into thematic modules that address fundamental aspects such as advanced searching in academic databases, source quality assessment, correct citation and ethical information management, as well as strategies for the efficient use of digital libraries. This study contributes to strengthening the role of university libraries as agents of change in the knowledge society, promoting comprehensive training that meets the demands of today's academic and professional environment.

    Estrategias de alfabetización informacional para la optimización del uso de recursos electrónicos y bases de datos en la educación superior

    The purpose of this study is to evaluate information literacy strategies (ALFIN) in order to optimize and improve the use of electronic resources and databases in the library of the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana at the Cuenca branch. on the other hand, the study seeks to identify the skills, training needs and areas for improvement of current users in order to improve them; through a quantitative analytical level, a structured questionnaire with a Likeirt scale was applied to 200 active users. where basic knowledge, access to electronic resources and the impact of training provided by the library area on learning were explored, revealing that a significant percentage of users have basic skills, however, there are gaps in areas such as techniques for evaluating information and advanced search tools, despite this, the training was valued positively, and students expressed their interest in receiving more of these. Finally, it is concluded that information literacy strategies have a significant impact on learning because through the use of electronic resources and databases, learning and research are optimized. For this reason, the implementation of user training programs in a personalized or group manner is very well received, promoting improved performance and reaffirming the role that libraries have in the educational environment.

    Mejora continua de los medios de pagos digitales en la Cooperativa Chibuleo Ltda

    The convergence of technology and digital platforms has impacted the financial sector, requiring financial institutions to improve their payment methods and maintain a competitive advantage while ensuring customer security. Therefore, the general objective of this research is to explain the continuous improvement in the digital payment methods of the Chibuleo Savings and Credit Cooperative Ltda., a financial institution that contributes to the financial inclusion of its members and society in general. The methodology was characterized by a descriptive-correlational, non-experimental research, with a mixed approach, using a survey directed to 383 members and clients of the institution and an interview with 10 people who work in the area of electronic channels and payment methods. As a result, it was found that there were several areas that needed improvement, such as better integration of new technologies, better security measures in digital transactions and the need for training for both users and staff. Furthermore, the importance of designing a successful communication plan was recognized as a means of encouraging cooperative members to adopt digital means, as they still rely on traditional payment methods. For this reason, a continuous improvement plan was developed, which was based on the findings and focused on three key pillars: technological updating, training and security. The strategy covers the establishment of new digital payment systems, the reinforcement of the current technological infrastructure and the implementation of a continuous training program for employees and partners. As conclusions, it is noted that the continuous improvement in the digital payment methods of the Chibuleo Savings and Credit Cooperative Ltda. focuses on constantly optimizing the experience of its users, responding to their changing needs and the technological demands of the market. This process involves regularly evaluating and updating the security, speed and ease of use of the payment platforms, in addition to improving communication and customer support to ensure a reliable and satisfactory experience.

    Proyecto de factibilidad para la creación de un área de Responsabilidad Social en el Centro Integral de Atención Geriátrica Vida Feliz del Patronato de Amparo Social del Cantón Salcedo.

    The revitalization of the environment and the improvement of the quality of life for vulnerable people has become a priority in public administration. In this context, the research on the topic of the Feasibility Project for the creation of a Social Responsibility area in the public Geriatric Care Centers of Salcedo, aims to generate the creation of care services for the elderly from a social service approach so that their development allows them better integration into the environment. Under the above, the Municipal Board of Salcedo generates its management based on the provision of innovative services that satisfy the needs of the elderly, thus promoting high social responsibility and territorial development. The methodological design used the mixed approach because it involved the collection, analysis and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data necessary for the study, the scope of this exploratory study, allowed to gather information on the characteristics of the non-existence of a feasibility project, likewise from the descriptive research it is intended to describe the characteristics that have caused the problem, while the collection of information was carried out through the survey directed to the population of Salcedo generating relevant results on the need for a Geriatric Center in the town to promote an environment with social empowerment. Finally, the proposal allowed to outline a feasibility project in which innovative services are generated through competitive strategies that make a difference using the integration of social responsibility to improve the institutional profile through a service to these vulnerable people, therefore the financial management focuses on obtaining capital and work to place the service in demand and position the institutional geriatric center as a transversal axis of comprehensive care for the elderly.

    Estrategias de promoción y los servicios bibliotecarios de la Biblioteca UTPL de la ciudad de Loja

    This research analyzes the promotional strategies used by the UTPL Library in the city of Loja to encourage the use of its library services. The general objective of the study is to determine which promotional strategies can optimize the visibility and accessibility of library services for the university community. The applied methodology follows a quantitative approach, with a correlational scope, a non-experimental design, and a cross-sectional framework. The study population consisted of students from the Architecture program of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture during the academic period from October 2024 to February 2025. A sample of 215 students was selected, who completed an online survey with Likert-type questions. The results revealed divided opinions on library services. While 69% of respondents expressed a positive perception of cultural events and 77% approved new services such as reprography, a significant percentage of students reported disagreement (38-39%) and indecision (20-28%) regarding the clarity of information and the library’s communication channels. Furthermore, the diversity in age groups and academic needs indicated that services should be more inclusive and adaptable. In conclusion, to enhance user satisfaction and engagement, it is recommended to strengthen institutional communication, provide clearer formats for information dissemination, and diversify the activities offered by the library. Implementing more effective promotional strategies will foster greater student interaction with library services and maximize their utilization within the academic environment.

    "Propuesta metodológica para la implementación de un sistema de gestión documental para el GAD de San José de Chimbo"

    The purpose of this study is to develop a methodological proposal for implementing a document management system for the GAD in San José de Chimbo. Based on a mixed approach with qualitative - descriptive character, the present research analyses document management as a real challenge for many organizations. In fact, it is understood as the set of technologies and techniques used to manage the documents of an institution or organization. The results show that most administrative staff rarely receive documents when they enter the GAD of San José de Chimbo, which shows that the document management is inadequate in terms of the dimension mentioned. In addition, most administrative staff rarely consider guaranteeing the user the control and follow-up of the documentation that enters this institution, which shows that document management is inadequate in terms of the dimension mentioned. The conclusion is that most organizations need frequent access to and consultation of archived information. In others, it is the importance of documents or the volume of information that encourages the search for new innovative solutions offering advantages and added value over traditional archiving and storage systems

    Innovación empresarial y productividad de las PYMES textileras de la provincia de Tungurahua

    The study analyzed the low productivity of textile SMEs in Tungurahua, affected by operational inefficiency, unfair competition, lack of innovation and technological limitations. Its objective is to identify how business innovation strategies impact productivity and propose solutions that improve their competitiveness and sustainability. The methodology combines a mixed, exploratory and descriptive approach, evaluating 39 companies using tools such as SWOT and PESTEL, and analyzing financial data with the support of statistical programs. The results show significant disparities in operational performance between microenterprises, small companies and large companies, with the latter standing out in productivity and efficiency due to their access to advanced technologies and economies of scale. Business innovation strategies are essential to improve the productivity and competitiveness of the sector. Their implementation promotes more efficient processes, optimizes resources and fosters a culture of continuous improvement. However, external factors such as unfair competition, lack of tax incentives and technological limitations restrict the development of the sector. The proposal focuses on designing strategies based on modern leadership, digitalization and sustainability. It is recommended to integrate ICT into business management, offer training programs in textile production and promote sustainable production. It is also suggested to strengthen strategic alliances between companies and facilitate access to international markets through digital platforms. These measures seek to reduce competitiveness gaps and position the textile sector of Tungurahua in an increasingly demanding global environment.     Valoración de los residuos de caucho y plástico de los desechos provenientes del mantenimiento de motocicletas

    En la actualidad el mundo exige implementar en las labores cotidianas el concepto de economía circular. Es por ello, que valorizar los residuos se ha convertido en una tendencia global. En Ecuador, según el informe del (INEC, 2024) el parque automotor y así también de motos, ha crecido exponencialmente desde el año 2021 hasta el 2023, pasando de 2.880.910 a 3.065967 unidades por tanto la venta de repuestos ha crecido de la misma forma. El objetivo del presente trabajo fue elaborar una propuesta para el aprovechamiento de los desechos plásticos y cauchos de las motocicletas. Para ello se realizó una investigación bibliográfica en base de datos Scopus y Latin Index, para identificar técnicas y características apropiadas para su valorización. Se estableció que las mejores opciones para la utilización de los residuos provenientes de los mantenimientos preventivos y correctivos de motos son la fabricación de rodapiés, bloques y ladrillos. Mediante un panel de expertos del cual tuvo participación la empresa auspiciante, se establecieron criterios para decidir la mejor forma de reutilizar los residuos provenientes de los mantenimientos de motocicletas, los cuales fueron costos, producción, inversión y ganancia con un porcentaje del 25%, 30%, 30%, 15% respectivamente. Posteriormente se aplicó una matriz de decisión, y se determinó que la elaboración de rodapiés es la opción que guarda el mejor equilibrio entre los criterios analizados y se presenta como el camino para que Moto Bikers gestione y aproveche los residuos. Se concluyó que la fabricación de rodapiés es una opción viable y sostenible para ser ejecutada por las empresas dedicadas a la reparación y venta de partes de motocicletas teniendo con esta práctica una fuente económica adicional, así como una alternativa de dar valor a las partes usadas de la moto evitando con ello que se conviertan las mismas en un foco de contaminación.

    Bibliotecas Universitarias accesibles y usuarios con discapacidad visual

    El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como finalidad analizar los servicios de información accesibles para personas con discapacidad visual en las Bibliotecas Universitarias tomando como caso de estudio el área de tiflobiblioteca de la Biblioteca General Carlos Toro Navas de la Universidad Técnica de Ambato para proponer acciones inclusivas que permitan mejorar la experiencia de los usuarios con esta condición. Se fundamentó teóricamente los conceptos relacionados con la discapacidad visual y los servicios accesibles estableciendo las bases necesarias para comprender las barreras que existen en los servicios para personas con discapacidad visual y las buenas prácticas en la atención que prestan las bibliotecas universitarias. Este proceso incluyó una revisión de literatura científica enmarcada en la accesibilidad, el diseño universal y las tecnologías de apoyo que permitió conceptualizar los desafíos que enfrentan las bibliotecas universitarias en su misión de ofrecer a sus usuarios servicios universales y accesibles. Al realizar el diagnóstico del estado actual de los servicios a través de instrumentos como la encuesta y la entrevista donde se evidenció la necesidad de fortalecer las herramientas tecnológicas, material bibliográfico adaptado y los servicios inclusivos. La investigación consideró no solo las experiencias y percepciones de los usuarios y los bibliotecarios, sino que también contempló los requerimientos considerados en el Modelo de Evaluación y Acreditación del Consejo de Aseguramiento de la Calidad de la Educación Superior (CACES).

    Estimación teórica de la capacidad de captura de carbono de especies arbóreas predominantes en las riberas localizadas en la avenida Orillas del Zamora de la ciudad de Loja, Ecuador.

    El cambio climático, resultado del aumento de emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero (GEI) relacionado principalmente a actividades humanas, representa una significante amenaza global. La presente investigación estima y propone la captura, utilización y almacenamiento de carbono, como una estrategia importante para mitigar el impacto del cambio climático. En este contexto, se evalúa la capacidad de captura de carbono de 4 familias arbóreas localizadas en las riberas del río Orillas del Zamora en la ciudad de Loja. En la investigación se aplicaron ecuaciones alométricas, mediante las cuales se pudo estimar teóricamente la capacidad de captura de carbono en cuatro familias arbóreas: la familia Salicaceae con 202 individuos arbóreos captura 235.71 ton/ha., la Fabaceae con 35 individuos arbóreos, captura 13.70 ton/ha., por otra parte, las familias Betulaceae con 64 individuos arbóreos captura 21.68 ton/ha. y la familia Bignoniaceae con 29 individuos captura 9.75 ton/ha. En promedio las 4 familias arbóreas capturan 280.79 ton/ha. La ciudad de Loja se caracteriza por no ser industrializada, por lo tanto, se ha determinado que la fuente principal de CO2 es el parque automotor, que a su vez, va en aumento exponencial año tras año. De esta problemática, se puede fijar la importancia de las áreas verdes como sumideros naturales de carbono y la concientización por parte de los ciudadanos. La investigación busca generar datos relevantes sobre las áreas verdes y su capacidad de captura de carbono. Se espera que los hallazgos no solo informen sobre el potencial local, sino que también sirvan como guía para futuras investigaciones y para la creación de programas de cuidado y reforestación de estas áreas, así como políticas ambientales en la ciudad y a nivel nacional, Ecuador al ser un país megadiverso debe enfocarse en alternativas modernas, amigables con el medio ambiente, y que beneficien a sus pobladores de manera sostenible.
