(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2024-08) Mera Zúñiga, Javier Alejandro; Núñez Núñez, Diego Fernando
The objective of this work is to capture a detailed procedure that allows the approximate CFD simulation of the behavior of wind flow in complex terrain, as well as the evaluation of different wind variables in a given area. For this process, the data acquired in the previous research called “Study of wind flow in complex terrain using CFD computational fluid dynamics for the location of a wind turbine in the Chimborazo National Park” was taken as a starting point, in addition to the Wind Atlas of the Ecuador generated by the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, which allowed the identification of the areas with the greatest wind potential in the country. Once the work area was established, the contour lines were generated for the creation of a closed solid surface where a meshing process was established, in addition to assigning the necessary boundary conditions to proceed with the setup configuration where they were assigned. variables such as: the state of the simulation, the fluid viscosity model, the program calculation method, among others. Finally, it was possible to visualize the results obtained on the variables assigned by the user within the processing section, from the simulation of the program. At the conclusion of the CFD simulation of the computer program, each of the activities carried out in the course of this project, were placed in a general and detailed manner within a procedure format that consists in addition to the tasks, the responsible, resources, evidence and verification of the activity, as well as were generated records of activities to maintain the control of the same.

The technical project presented below is the continuation of a study and information collection, conducted by a group of colleagues, in which he began with topographical studies, using modern equipment such as: RTK and Drone, in order to obtain the relief of the surface of the terrain to compare with the regulations and apply the methods in the determination of the layout. The project studied the volume of vehicle traffic, with the manual counting method during the seven days of the week starting on September 16-22, 2019, lasting 12 hours a day. The Annual Daily Average Traffic was obtained based on data obtained throughout this week in the traffic study, applying the thirty-hour method. Once all the data had been obtained both in the field and in the office, the methods and techniques based on the current Ecuadorian standard MTOP 2003 were applied to determine the different elements of the road based on design criteria, which were horizontal alignment, vertical and cross section of the road. The reference budget for the section under study was US$556,036.89 without I.V.A., was determined by volumes based on the different design parameters previously applied. All of these processes mentioned are tabulated to help your understanding and interpretation, as well as the design are on properly georeferenced planes.
