Item Las prácticas laborales y el desempeño académico de los estudiantes de séptimo nivel de la carrera de educación básica de la Universidad Técnica de Ambato(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación Básica, 2025-07-04) Sigcha Azogue Erika Michelle; Miranda López Ximena Cumandá; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación BásicaThe purpose of this research was to determine the impact of work placements on the academic performance of seventh-level students in the Basic Education program at the Technical University of Ambato. To this end, a mixed-method approach was applied, combining quantitative and qualitative methods, with a descriptive scope, under a field approach and a non-experimental, cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 29 students and two teachers, who were administered a structured survey with a Likert scale and structured and semi-structured interviews with both students and teachers. The results obtained showed that work placements have a significant influence on strengthening students' professional, pedagogical, and academic competencies, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom, develop technical skills, improve their self-confidence, and adapt to real-life educational contexts. It was also found that most students perceive that the lessons learned in class serve as a foundation for adequate performance during their internships, although the need to improve some pedagogical processes and teacher support is recognized. Likewise, teachers positively valued these experiences, noting that they contribute to consolidating teacher identity and the ability of future professionals to face diverse educational challenges. Finally, it is concluded that internships have a positive impact on academic performance, so it is recommended to strengthen the integration of theory and practice, diversify practice spaces, and improve feedback processes.Item El aprendizaje cooperativo en el desempeño académico de la asignatura de Matemáticas de los estudiantes de sexto grado paralelo “A” de Educación General Básica de la Unidad Educativa “San Pío X”, ciudad Baños de Agua Santa(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación Básica, 2025-07-04) Oñate Castro Shakira Liliana; Miranda López Ximena Cumandá; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación BásicaThe objective of this research work is to analyze the impact of cooperative learning on academic performance in the Mathematics subject of sixth grade students, section “A”, at “San Pío X” Educational Unit, Baños de Agua Santa. This study falls under the line ofsocial and educational behavior research. It is highly relevant in the current educational context as it allows teachers to implement cooperative learning as an effective methodological strategy to improve academic performance. The methodology was based on a non-experimental, descriptive cross-sectional design with a mixed approach (quantitative-qualitative). Its modality was bibliographic, documentary, and field-based. The research reached a descriptive level. Techniques used included non-participant observation and structured surveys, with instruments such as a checklist and a questionnaire measured using a Likert scale. The results show that a high percentage of students believe that cooperative learning helps them understand and solve problems. Moreover, working in teamsis not only useful but also more motivating, encouraging active participation in class. It was developed under a mixed approach, combining a bibliographic-documentary and field modality. The study was framed within the line of research on social and educational behavior. The population consisted of 30 students and 1 teacher of General Basic Education (EGB). For data collection, a survey was administered to the students and an interview to the teacher, both instruments validated by two experts in the field. The results were analyzed, interpreted and discussed by means of tables. From the data obtained, it was evidenced that the implementation of playful activities generates a greater interest in students for learning, which in turn facilitates the improvement in their academic performance. It is concluded that gamification has a positive influence on the teaching-learning process, promoting meaningful learning in the area of Social Studies.Item El aprendizaje colaborativo en el desempeño académico de los estudiantes de sexto y séptimo grado “A” de Educación General Básica de la Unidad Educativa “El sembrador intercultural bilingüe”, de la ciudad de Latacunga(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación Básica, 2025-02-19) Chancusig Casa Genesis Karina; Chávez Fuentes Carmen Dolores; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación BásicaThe objective of this research was to investigate collaborative learning and academic performance among sixth and seventh grade "A" students of Basic General Education at the "El Sembrador Intercultural Bilingual" Educational Unit in the city of Latacunga. A mixed approach was employed, with a bibliographicdocumentary and field modality, an exploratory and descriptive level, and a non-experimental design. The line of research focused on social and educational behavior. The population consisted of 26 students and 2 teachers from the intermediate sublevel.The survey technique was applied using the corresponding instrument, a "questionnaire," directed at the students. An interview was also conducted using its instrument, another "questionnaire," both of which were reviewed and evaluated by two experts in the field. The study concludes that collaborative learning positively influences the teaching-learning process, consequently enhancing academic performance. It promotes the development of students' social and communication skills and contributes to a more constructivist and dynamic education. Although teachers implement this strategy across various subjects, it is crucial for them to receive the necessary training and resources to further support the development of skills among students. It can be evidenced through the obtained resultsthat the students demonstrate greater preparation when being evaluated, which results in an improvement in their grades.Item El estilo de aprendizaje kinestésico en el desempeño académico en el área de Ciencias Naturales de los estudiantes de séptimo grado de Educación General Básica en la Unidad Educativa José Ignacio Ordóñez de la ciudad de Pelileo(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación Básica, 2025-01-22) Llerena Tintín Álvaro Andrés; Yungán Yungán Raúl; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación BásicaThis research refers to the kinesthetic learning style in academic performance in the area of Natural Sciences of seventh grade students, this focuses on activities that involve movement, manipulation of objects and practical learning for the academic performance of students. The objective of the research is to analyze the kinesthetic learning style in the academic performance in the area of Natural Sciences of seventh grade students of Basic General Education in the Educational Unit "José Ignacio Ordóñez" of the city of Pelileo. A mixed approach is used, with a bibliographic-documentary and field modality, in addition to an exploratory and descriptive level. The population is made up of 23 parallel seventh grade students "A" and 3 teachers from the area. The techniques that were used are observation and survey, the instruments applied are the rubric and the questionnaire. The questionnaire is aimed at teachers, it contains 10 questions in order to collect information about the academic performance of their students in the Natural Sciences subject. The rubric contains 10 criteria to determine the skills and development of students with kinesthetic activities. The results obtained reflect that 82.6% of students achieve the required learning while 17.4% master the required learning, therefore, it is concluded that the kinesthetic learning style improves the academic performance of students.Item El rol de los padres de familia en el desempeño académico de los estudiantes de quinto grado de educación general básica de la Unidad Educativa “Planeta Azul” de la ciudad de Ambato(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación Básica, 2025-01-20) Arévalo Lliguin Anthony Jason; Sánchez Vaca Edgar Bladimir; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación BásicaThe present investigation refers to the impact of parents' roles on the academic performance of fifth-grade students in Basic General Education at "Unidad Educativa Planeta Azul," located in the city of Ambato. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining bibliographic analysis to establish the theoretical framework (qualitative) and the collection of numerical data through surveys (quantitative) to interpret the findings. The methodology applied included bibliographic and field research. An exhaustive review of academic sources on the variables studied was conducted, alongside on-site investigation with direct interaction with participants. The research is descriptive in nature, allowing for an in-depth characterization of the main variables. Surveys were used as the primary data collection technique, targeting both students and teachers, with instruments validated by experts. The results show that most parents regularly review students' homework, attend school meetings, and consistently motivate their children to study and improve their grades. However, certain aspects, such as participation in extracurricular activities and frequent communication with teachers, revealed areas for improvement. Despite these limitations, it is concluded that active parental involvement has a significant impact on students' academic performance.Item La comunicación docente-alumno en el desempeño académico de los estudiantes de la carrera de educación básica de la “Universidad Técnica de Ambato”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación Básica, 2025-01-20) Lescano Barreros Edison Alexis; Chávez Fuentes Carmen Dolores; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación BásicaThe present research aims to analyze the relationship between teacher-student communication and the academic performance of students in the Basic Education program at the "Universidad Técnica de Ambato." The methodology employed was descriptive with a mixed qualitative-quantitative approach, utilizing techniques for collecting bibliographic, documentary, and field data. A structured questionnaire was administered to evaluate types of teacher communication (verbal and non-verbal) and its influence on academic performance, considering aspects such as clarity, empathy, and adaptability in teacher-student interactions. The research line used was social and educational behavior. The study population consisted of 275 students enrolled in the Basic Education program for the 2023-2024 academic cycle. From this population, a representative sample of 161 students was selected, distributed across different levels of the program to obtain representative results from various learning groups. The results demonstrated that effective communication, based on clarity of explanations, the use of gestures and coherent expressions, as well as emotional and academic support, significantly contributes to motivation and understanding of content, thereby strengthening academic performance. In conclusion, the research shows that effective teacher-student communication has a certain impact on academic performance.Item La realidad aumentada y el desempeño académico en la asignatura de ciencias naturales con estudiantes de séptimo grado de educación general básica de la unidad educativa “Francisco Flor” de la ciudad de Ambato(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación Básica, 2025-01-20) Vargas Cevallos Stefanny Lisbeth; Morales Jaramillo María Belén; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación BásicaThe present research analyzes how the use of augmented reality influences academic performance in the subject of Natural Sciences with seventh grade students of Basic General Education of the “Francisco Flor” Educational Unit in the city of Ambato. A pre-experimental design with a mixed approach was used, using as instruments, surveys and pre- and post-tests to the implementation of AR in a population of 69 students and their respective teachers. Obtained as a result that reality significantly increased motivation, understanding, retention of information, concentration in class, in addition to promoting teamwork. The research highlights that, despite the limited experience of students and teachers under the RA, its implementation had a positive impact on the perception of the teaching-learning process, evidencing improvements in student grades. However, several challenges were identified such as the lack of teacher training and technological resources. It is thus concluded that the augmented reality tool is effective and innovative since it enriches education and improves academic performance, which is why its incorporation is recommended as a strategy to motivate and capture the attention of students.Item Comportamiento social y desempeño académico(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Psicopedagogía, 2025-01-17) Cayo Muso Cristina Yajaira; Rivera Flores Danny Gonzalo; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de PsicopedagogíaThe present research, entitled “social behavior and academic performance”, aimed to analyze the influence of social behavior and academic performance that exists in the 10th year of EGB students of the Juan León Mera “La Salle” Educational Unit, we worked with a population of 150 students of the institution. To achieve this objective, an exhaustive search was carried out in various bibliographic sources in order to provide answers to the questions posed. As for the methodology, a mixed approach was used, which facilitated data collection, the modality of bibliographic and field research was used, with a descriptive, explanatory and correlational scope, which allowed analyzing how social behavior influences the academic performance of the population. For data collection, the A. Goldstein Social Skills Scale and the Comprehensive Evaluation of School Performance Questionnaire were applied in person. A total of 140 students belonging to the 10th year of Basic General Education participated, being a significant sample for the research. The statistical análisis was carried out using Kendall's Tau-b correlational coefficient, in order to corroborate the findings. Therefore, te validityof the same alternative proposed in the study is confirmed, suggesting that social behavior does have an impact students' academic performance.
