Msc.Shoulder injuries are the type of injury most frequently seen in the emergency department, suffered by the working population as well as athletes. From the medical area, patients are referred to the physiotherapy department for proper evaluation and intervention, in order to improve their quality of life. The purpose of this research project was to analyze the intervention protocol applied in shoulder injuries by physical therapists in the city of Ambato. 50 active professionals from public and private centers participated in this study. This was a quantitative-qualitative field study with a descriptive research design. Data collection was carried out by applying a cross-sectional survey composed of three questionnaires previously validated by experts in the field, that identified evaluation elements, methods and rehabilitation techniques, as well as physical therapists’ basic knowledge on this topic. Statistical processes were carried out in programs such as IBM SPSS and Microsoft Excel. The results showed that, in terms of shoulder assessment, physical therapists mostly use the correct elements for evaluation, despite this there were inconsistencies, since a high percentage responded to the distractor. However, the professionals did not use scientific evidence, clinical practice guidelines and did not apply evidence-based practice. Though they use methods and techniques backed by high quality scientific evidence for adhesive capsulitis, they did not apply them in the correct xvi rehabilitation phases, whereas for shoulder tendinopathies they used low scientific quality protocols. In relation to basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology and biomechanics, they obtained an average of 5.6/10 points, which shows a deficit in knowledge.Item Análisis de la biomecánica del ordeño mecánico en ganaderos(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Fisioterapia, 2022-09-01) Yanchatipan Toapanta, Stalin Alejandro; Espín Pastor, Victoria Estefanía, Lic. MSc.The present research work aims to analyze the biomechanics of farmers who use mechanical milking through ergonomic evaluations in order to relate it to the risk of suffering musculoskeletal injuries. The research has a quantitative approach where the kinematics and muscle strength involved in the work activity of 15 cattlemen were evaluated. The kinematics were evaluated through recordings of the Pre-Milking and Post-Milking sub-activities, choosing the most uncomfortable and repetitive postures, which were scored according to the classification of the REBA method, for their degrees of mobility, loads, repetitive movements and static postures, thus identifying a low or very high risk presented by the farmers in the activity of mechanical milking. The evaluation of muscle strength was evaluated with greater emphasis on the musculature that represents a greater activity in the mechanical milking work, such as: external and internal rotators of the shoulder, anterior deltoid, elbow flexor, finger flexor and finally the deep craniocervical muscles and those that maintain the neutral lumbopelvic position. Obtaining an average ergonomic risk rating of 8-10 that represents a high risk in their activities and in the muscle strength does not present a synergy between the agonist and antagonist muscles that could damage their health that can produce musculoskeletal symptoms in the long term, limiting them to develop their activities normally in livestock farmers. Mg.There are several factors such as age, childbirth in the case of women, constipation, obesity, among others, that increase the risk of urinary incontinence, triggering different problems in the development of activities in daily life. Therefore, the present research had the aim of demonstrating the effect of pelvic floor training with progressive load in patients attending “CIDELM Centro Integral del Movimiento”. It is a retrospective study that presents a quali-quantitative approach, of descriptive type, due to the methodology used in the data collection and the respective analysis, in which two evaluation instruments were used, the Oxford test using the PERFECT method and the Sandvik Severity Index, which, with a good validity allows us to know the state of the pelvic floor musculature and the severity of the symptoms of urinary incontinence respectively. The training consisted of 8 weeks of exercises, with a frequency of 5 times per week, divided into one guided session at the center and four autonomous sessions. The effects found in this study with respect to the main factors related to urinary incontinence such as the type of delivery and constipation, it was noted that 75% the patients who gave birth through vaginal delivery had better results than those who had a cesarean delivery. As for constipation, 55% the participants who did not suffer from this condition obtained great improvement as opposed to those who did suffer from constipation. xiv A positive effect of the training with progressive load applied in the participants was proved, where an increase of the muscular function of the pelvic floor was obtained, generating a great improvement of the symptoms and in most of the patients reaching total continence. MSc.The objective of this research project is to analyze the biomechanics of the movements in the activities carried out by the workers of the cutting and sewing supplier company of Plasticaucho industrial Ambato.
