Item La comunicación terapéutica entre la enfermera y la familia del paciente en cuidados críticos. Un enfoque del cuidado humanizado(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-29) Sánchez Vega, Ketshy Dayana; Quenoran Almeida, Verónica SofíaTherapeutic communication is fundamental in the care provided by the nursing staff to the family. Therefore, the Objective of this study was to determine the therapeutic communication between the nurse and the family of the patient in critical care, based on Jean Watson's theory of humanized care. Method: Mixed, cross-sectional, exploratory study, the research population consisted of 13 nurses belonging to the intensive care unit (ICU) and 15 family members of critically ill patients in Puyo county. Results: it could be evidenced that there is a good predisposition on the part of the nursing staff to provide humanized care to the family; however, it is necessary to improve to some extent the quality of communication and emotional support, so that the staff and the family have a unified opinion, which allows raising the satisfaction standards of the users. Conclusions: It was evidenced that therapeutic communication is an important aspect. Since it allows maintaining calm in a complicated process, where the nursing professional should contribute to provide emotional support to the family while providing comprehensive nursing actions to the patient.Item Factores asociados a la violencia contra los estudiantes de enfermería del internado rotativo(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-29) Shingón De La Cruz, Lisbeth Maritza; Arráiz de Fernández, CarolinaIntroduction: violence is a public health problem, among which we find workplace violence, which is identified when a worker suffers abuse, threats, attacks that can be verbal and physical. Methods: the study presents a non-experimental research design with a quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional approach in a group of nursing students of the rotating internship, with a sample of 121 participants, to whom a questionnaire with a reliability of 0.717 of Alpha Cronbach was applied. Results: a low risk was reported in relation to violence by the patient's familia member with 88.43%, although a small group of students is at medium risk with 11.57%. As for the factors associated with violence, a medium and high risk is shown with 56.2%. Conclusions: nursing interns receive a considerable number of physical, verbal and psychological aggressions at work, which come from relatives of patients and colleagues with higher hierarchies. In the current study, it was possible to observe the presence of blows in physical violence, humiliation and rudeness in psychological violence and in the individual associated factors aggression by the immediate superior boss, by aggressors in altered mental state and aggressors by the state of health of the relatives.Item Conocimiento y percepción sobre medidas de bioseguridad en estudiantes de enfermería(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-29) Toapanta Llumiquinga, Yesenia Gabriela; Rivera Aguilar, Tatiana ElizabethIntroduction: Biosecurity is a set of norms and preventive measures that maintain control of occupational risk factors, such as chemical and physical biological risks. Objective: To analyze the level of knowledge and perception of biosafety measures in nursing students. Methods: the study used a non-experimental design with a quantitative crosssectional approach, with a population of 150 sixth and seventh semester students of the Technical University of Ambato, Ecuador; through a survey with a validity of 98% and a reliability of alpha. Cronbach's score of 0.737. Results: when analyzing the results, the level of knowledge of the students was positive since their knowledge is reliable with 64%. However, a lower reliability was evidenced in the types of isolates. Conclusions: the results obtained in the present investigation allow us to conclude that the sixth and seventh semester students have an adequate level of knowledge about biosafety measures, waste classification, use of gloves and masks, and hand washing, which indicates that these will be put into practice and accidents will be avoided.Item Perspectiva del personal de enfermería sobre los cuidados aplicados a neonatos que reciben fototerapia(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-29) Yumi Yanchapanta, Steven Gabriel; Analuisa Jiménez, Eulalia IsabelNursing care in neonates is essential to guarantee the first moments in the newborn, especially in developing countries where nursing care has been declining and has been associated with adverse outcomes for patients. Therefore, the objective of this research is to analyze the perspective of nursing care for neonates with jaundice who are receiving phototherapy. The study is qualitative with a phenomenological approach, which was carried out in the city of Ambato, Ecuador, with a population of 6 nurses to whom an interview was applied using a script of 13 previously established questions, recorded on audio. In this sense, the nurse plays a crucial role in the care of the newborn during phototherapy and must take measures to ensure its effectiveness, avoid cross infection and minimize complications. It is also important to consider the length required between the phototherapy lamp and the infant, as well as eye care and protection of nearby children from phototherapy light. Thus, it can be concluded that nursing care in neonates with jaundice receiving phototherapy is important to reduce blood bilirubin and prevent adverse effects. Nursing professionals must ensure the effectiveness of irradiation, control temperature, hydration and elimination, interpret results and evaluate the newborn to make decisions about phototherapy. They should also consider risk factors and need to provide emotional support to parents and redistribute the allocation of neonates with phototherapy to avoid additional workload.Item Factores que causan la automedicación en estudiantes de enfermería(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-29) Zambrano Barriga, Francis Paul; Cusme Torres, Nadihezka AmandaIntroduction: self-medication is the use of medications on one's own initiative to alleviate or cure some ailment, this practice may have positive points in favor of the economy and demand of health centers worldwide, however, the negative consequences are more relevant, such as future antibiotic resistance, misdiagnosis or treatment and combinations of drugs that can cause adverse reactions. Objective: To identify the factors that cause self-medication in nursing students of the Technical University of Ambato. Methods: A quantitative research with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design was carried out. A total of 183 nursing students from the fifth, sixth and seventh semesters of the Technical University of Ambato participated in the study. A 23-item questionnaire with a validity of 97,2% and reliability of 86,3% was applied. Results: 97,3% prevalence of low frequency self-medication (80,9%) was reported, where the main reason for self-medication was the consideration of mild symptoms with 82% and the most commonly used drugs were analgesics with 94,5%. Conclusions: There is a high prevalence of self-medication in nursing students, which leads to take informative measures to avoid or decrease this percentage in students and population in the future.Item Conocimientos nutricionales de los estudiantes de enfermería y los hábitos alimenticios(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-28) Ninasunta Toapanta, Daisy Tatiana; Chipantiza Córdova, Tannia ElizabethThe habit of eating is related to factors: cultural, social and educational, hence the knowledge about nutrition can influence how we eat and our nutritional status. In the statistical analysis of the knowledge survey, an average level was obtained in nutritional habits in 69.9%, on nutritional status in 52.78%, nutrient content of food in 61.4% and on related health alterations. to food considered 69.8% as medium level. In eating habits, only 25% eat three meals a day, 50% eat breakfast only once a week and 33% eat lunch once a week. 60% consume only 2 servings of fruits and vegetables 3 to 4 times a week.
