Carrera de Marketing y Gestión de Negocios., 2017-12) Acosta Rivera, Paulina Marisol; Castro Analuiza, Juan CarlosDiabetes has become a priority public health problem in Ecuador since it is affecting hundreds of people and according to the latest Health and Nutrition Survey 2011, the prevalence of this disease is 1.7% and the cases will be increasing. A poor nutrition, physical inactivity and excessive consumption of sugary products are risk factors related to diabetes. Currently the Ministry of Public Health generates strategies to prevent, control, and treat diabetes, which is why this project seeks to contribute with this cause and help promote healthy eating practices. Through a market research it was possible to determine the unsatisfied demand that needs to be cover through the new product, the study has allowed us to calculate the size and the optimal location of the project, the production process has been established to optimize the times and to take advantage of the production capacity and this project has been analyzed using economic indicators which have determined that this entrepreneurship is achievable and that the investment is safe. And that’s the reason we proposed to produce a frozen yogurt sweetened with Stevia as an alternative in the line of cold desserts that does not affect the health of people diagnosed with diabetes and also encourage the consumption of non-caloric products.
