This technical project highlights the importance of implementing the technical requirements established in the NTE INEN-ISO/IEC 17025 standard. It proposes conducting interlaboratory proficiency tests in accordance with the NTE INEN-ISO 11925-2 standard, ensuring the reliability of the tests as stipulated in the NTE INENISO/IEC 17043 standard. The interlaboratory proficiency test involved analyzing the performance of the Mechanical Research Laboratory (LIM-UTA) in conducting tests, in compliance with the technical requirements of the NTE INEN-ISO/IEC 17043 standard for interlaboratory testing. The main objective was to evaluate the competence and reliability of flammability tests for construction materials, following the guidelines of the NTE INEN-ISO 11925-2 standard. The performance evaluation of LIM-UTA was carried out in accordance with the normative specifications, and the expected results included the validation of the test methodologies. The laboratory selected polycarbonate as the reference material for conducting flammability tests. Upon completion of the study, the verification and validation of the method used were carried out. Specialized software was employed to analyze the total Gage R&R, as well as aspects of precision, uncertainty, p-value, and accuracy, meeting the established criteria and achieving satisfactory results. Finally, a report was prepared in accordance with the NTE INEN-ISO/IEC 17043 standard to compare the performance results of the flammability test for construction materials.

Construction materials are constantly innovating, with an integration of plastics into the material. The SPC vinyl floor is having a trend, since it offers other characteristics compared to the normal floating floor, based on a new wave of new construction materials, the market has not analyzed the behavior against an ignition source. From this, the investigation of the reaction to fire of the construction material was carried out according to the NTE INEN-ISO 11925-2 standard, in 4 tests with application of a direct flame to the surface, at a time of 15 and 30 seconds, as well as with the application of a direct flame to the edge at a time of 15 and 30 seconds, with the direction of longitudinal and transverse specimens. For each test, 3 longitudinal specimens and 3 transverse specimens were extracted, which were conditioned as specified in the standard, at a temperature of approximately 23 degrees Celsius with an acceptable variation of plus or minus 2 degrees, and at a relative humidity of 50 percent with a variation acceptable of plus minus 5 percent, in the reaction to fire test chamber of construction materials the requirement was met when igniting the flame which has to meet a flame height of 20 millimeters, subsequently the tests were carried out, with their respective specifications. The results show that the previous material behaves differently based on time; However, its behavior concludes that it is considered self-extinguishing.
