Item "Material gráfico para la actividad extracurricular “Duelos de ilustración” como herramienta creativa en el proceso formativo de los estudiantes de Diseño y Arquitectura"(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE DISEÑO GRÁFICO, 2026-07-08) Rosero Villegas Alex Steven; Mena Freire Julia Andrea; UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE DISEÑO GRÁFICOThis thesis addresses the need to strengthen creative extracurricular activities within the School of Design and Architecture through the design of editorial materials for the “Illustration Duels” activity. The research stems from the limited systematization of this initiative, which hinders its planning, execution, evaluation, and continuity within the academic context. The main objective was to design gamified editorial material that would enable the organization of illustration duels as a complementary tool for students’ creative education. The methodology employed included a literature review, participant observation, surveys of participants and spectators, interviews with professionals, interviews with former participants, SWOT and PEST analyses, benchmarking, and triangulation of results. The findings revealed a positive perception of the activity, particularly due to its ability to motivate participation, stimulate rapid conceptualization, promote visual problem-solving under pressure, and strengthen interaction among students. Although statistical analysis did not confirm a significant relationship between the variables, the descriptive results, interviews, and specific case studies allowed for the recognition of its practical and educational utility. As a result, a proposal was developed for an “Illustration Duels” kit, consisting of an instruction manual, themed cards, an evaluation rubric, timers, drawing supplies, a card box, and a digital media plan. This proposal makes it possible to systematize the activity, enhance the experience for participants and spectators, and position it as a replicable, organized, and relevant extracurricular strategy for fostering creative development.Item Diseño editorial como recurso en el aprendizaje en niños con dificultades educativas en ABA Center Ambato(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE DISEÑO GRÁFICO, 2026-07-08) Robles Terán Valeria Anahí; Pilamunga Poveda Efraín Marcelo; UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE DISEÑO GRÁFICOThis project addresses the lack of structured material adapted to the cognitive profile of children with neurodevelopmental disorders diagnosed with ADHD at ABA Center Ambato. The objectives focused on diagnosing the cognitive, attentional, and pedagogical needs of the population under intervention, defining the editorial design criteria absent in the center's current materials in order to strengthen learning specifically for the ADHD profile, evaluating the existing didactic material and identifying its deficiencies, which led to the development of the kit as a therapeutic support resource during sessions. The research adopted a mixed-methods approach with concurrent triangulation, applying semi-structured interviews to the center's director and therapeutic staff, a direct non-participatory observation matrix, and a comparative analysis of both external and internal materials, grounded in Bruno Munari's projectual methodology as the backbone of the process. Based on the findings, a physical editorial didactic kit of four volumes was developed, organized by area of intervention: attentional, behavioral, emotional, and social, presented under the titles The Explorers of the River, Kira's Store, The Guardians of the Forest, and The Inventors' Station. The design incorporates the Nunito typeface in three weight variations, vibrant yet desaturated color palettes differentiated by volume, a modular grid system, and illustrations with simple strokes and minimal detail, balancing the child's attention with visual rest areas. The prototype evaluation carried out with professionals and children at ABA Center yielded favorable results, confirming the relevance and functionality of the material.Item Diseño editorial como apoyo a la conservación del patrimonio cultural inmaterial de la fiesta de la Mama Negra de la Ciudad de Latacunga.(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE DISEÑO GRÁFICO, 2026-07-08) Pichucho Páez Geovana Lizeth; Suárez Naranjo Carlos Sebastián; UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE DISEÑO GRÁFICOIntangible cultural heritage is one of the most important elements for the preservation of the identity and collective memory of communities, as it encompasses traditions, knowledge, and cultural expressions. In this context, the Mama Negra Festival is one of the most recognized celebrations in Ecuador and is also known internationally for its historical richness and symbolic significance. However, over time, this celebration has undergone changes influenced by new social and cultural trends. In addition, there is a limited availability of graphic resources that clearly explain the origin of the festival, the meaning of its characters, as well as the dates and reasons for its celebration. This research proposes the editorial design of an illustrated book aimed at children between 8 and 12 years old, as a resource to help transmit the meaning and importance of the Mama Negra Festival. Through various graphic elements and illustrations, the project seeks to develop an attractive and accessible book that strengthens knowledge about the festival, promotes cultural identity, and contributes to the appreciation of the cultural heritage of Latacunga. For the development of this project, interviews and surveys were conducted with editorial designers, graphic designers, and children in order to identify their interests, preferences, and expectations regarding the content and design of the material. Based on the information collected, an editorial proposal was developed to contribute to the preservation of intangible cultural heritage. This resource is intended not only for children in the city but also for the community as a whole. In conclusion, the editorial design developed constitutes a supporting tool for the preservation and strengthening of the intangible cultural heritage represented by the Mama Negra Festival.Item Diseño editorial para la difusión de la identidad cultural de la comuna de Maca Chico(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE DISEÑO GRÁFICO, 2026-07-08) Oña Yanqui Ginna Alexandra; García Analuisa Diego; UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE DISEÑO GRÁFICOThe commune of Maca Chico lacks official records documenting its history and traditions, which generates a lack of knowledge of its cultural identity, especially among those who visit it. Most of the existing information is preserved only in the memory of the elderly of the commune, so there is a real risk that it will be lost over time. Faced with this situation, editorial design is proposed as a means to disseminate the cultural identity of the commune of Maca Chico, aimed mainly at national tourists between 25 and 35 years old who do not have any accessible source of information about this place. To support the proposal, a mixed methodological approach was used, for which interviews were carried out with the Department of Culture and Heritage, graphic designers with experience in editorial design and older adults from the commune, who contributed with relevant information. On the other hand, surveys were carried out on national tourists between 25 and 35 years old, which made it possible to identify the most effective visual elements and understand the consumption habits of editorial material. In this context, the information collected helped to design editorial material on which a cultural and tourist guide was made as a basis with additional products that complement the purpose of publicizing the cultural identity of the commune of Maca Chico. In conclusion, it can be said that editorial design serves as a tool that not only allows information to be collected, but also helps to disseminate the necessary information in an organized manner. Therefore, it is recommended to continue documenting the collective memory of this commune and thus promote its dissemination.Item El Diseño editorial como recurso de registro y fortalecimiento de la identidad cultural de la parroquia Picaihua(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE DISEÑO GRÁFICO, 2026-07-07) Mejia Tisalema Carolina Lissette; Vargas Álvarez Álvaro Fernando; UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE DISEÑO GRÁFICOThe present project addresses the issue of limited awareness of cultural identity in the parish of Picaihua, stemming from the absence of editorial materials that document its cultural elements. This gap has resulted in knowledge being transmitted exclusively through oral tradition, leading to a gradual erosion of the sense of belonging among its inhabitants. The study's objectives focused on two key variables: editorial design parameters, treated as the independent variable, and elements of cultural identity, treated as the dependent variable. Data were gathered through bibliographic research, expert interviews, and direct observation, informing the development of editorial materials responsive to the findings obtained. For this research, the deductive method was applied with a qualitative approach, conducting bibliographic research and interviews with experts in graphic design, culture, and key stakeholders from Picaihua, gathering information to support the proposal. From these results, editorial products were developed taking into account editorial design parameters, while the most representative elements of Picaihua's cultural identity were identified for the cultural component. Likewise, once the results were obtained, the design of editorial products was proposed — such as foldable pieces (desplegables) that compile cultural information on the identified elements of cultural identity. Additionally, the guide was produced in digital format, for which supplementary deliverables were designed to promote the QR code for the digital guide, further complemented by value-added gifts. It is concluded that research methods are essential for gathering the information needed to develop the proposal. It is recommended that the contents continue to be updated, incorporating new topics and approaches.Item Diseño de material gráfico como aporte para la difusión del origen de la Fiesta de la Fruta y de la Flores en los adolescentes de la ciudad de Ambato(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE DISEÑO GRÁFICO, 2026-07-07) López Ases Daniela de los Angeles; Nájera Galeas Carlos Enrique; UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE DISEÑO GRÁFICOItem Diseño de material editorial informativo sobre el ciberacoso dirigido a adolescentes de 15 a 18 años, en colaboración con la Policía Nacional del Ecuador(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA; CARRERA DE DISEÑO GRÁFICO, 2026-01-20) Cuji Yanza Javier Alejandro; Mena Freire Julia Andrea; UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA; CARRERA DE DISEÑO GRÁFICOCyberbullying is a growing issue among adolescents in Ambato, exacerbated by postpandemic digitalization and the normalization of violence on social media. This research project aimed to design informative editorial material for the prevention of cyberbullying in youths aged 15 to 18, in collaboration with the National Police of Ecuador. A mixed methodology was employed using Bruce Archer's design method, triangulating data from surveys of 381 students and interviews with experts. The results revealed a preference for disruptive aesthetics, such as comic and collage styles, to generate an emotional connection. As a solution, the "Banderas en Línea" (Flags Online) proposal was developed, an editorial kit that includes a guide, an interactive book, and a board game. It is concluded that editorial design acts as a strategic agent to denormalize bullying and encourage a culture of reporting.Item El diseño editorial como herramienta de apoyo para la prevención del consumo de alcohol, en colaboración con la Fundación Salto de Fe, en la ciudad de Pelileo(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA; CARRERA DE DISEÑO GRÁFICO, 2026-01-20) Santana Panta Lesly Alejandra; Pilamunga Poveda Efraín Marcelo; UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA; CARRERA DE DISEÑO GRÁFICOExcessive alcohol consumption has become a significant problem in the city of Pelileo. Despite this, there are institutions dedicated to preventing this problem, although a lack of adequate materials persists, making it necessary to inform the public about this issue. Therefore, editorial design is proposed as a support tool for alcohol consumption prevention in collaboration with the Salto de Fe Foundation in the city of Pelileo, with the aim of informing the most vulnerable population about the consequences of this problem. The methodology is mixed, requiring interviews with professionals and experts in psychology, editorial design, and members of the Foundation; surveys were also conducted with the target audience in the city. The findings show a clear need to inform the public about the problems of alcohol consumption through graphic materials focused on the population and that support the Foundation, providing accurate information, clear language, and appropriate graphic resources. Based on this, an editorial proposal was developed, consisting of the design of editorial materials such as a preventative guide, brochure, and supplementary materials, providing clear information on the physical, emotional, and social consequences of alcoholism, as well as promoting responsible decision-making. In conclusion, editorial design is established as a key tool for prevention in community settings and for supporting the Foundation's preventative actions; furthermore, it is recommended to continue updating the content and strengthening the distribution of the materials.Item Material editorial ilustrado para fomentar la lectura en niños en colaboración con la Corporación de Asociaciones Comunitarias de Cotopaxi y Tungurahua (fundación CACTU)(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA; CARRERA DE DISEÑO GRÁFICO, 2026-01-20) Ramón Cáceres Katherine Michelle; García Analuisa Diego Patricio; UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA; CARRERA DE DISEÑO GRÁFICOThe low reading habit in children is a growing issue that affects their cognitive and emotional development, limiting their ability to comprehend, imagine, and critically reflect. This phenomenon has been exacerbated by various factors, such as the lack of access to suitable materials and the limited promotion of reading in homes and schools. Educational institutions play a key role in promoting reading habits, as they are spaces where children spend most of their time. This project focuses on the development of illustrated editorial material as an effective tool to encourage reading habits in children aged 8 to 11, using micro-stories and graphic resources that cater to their interests and cognitive needs, with the aim of fostering reading and an appreciation for books from an early age. The goal was to design illustrated editorial material that promotes reading, recognizing motivational factors and defining the most effective graphic resources for children. The methodology applied was mixed and included bibliographic research, surveys, interviews, and a focus group to assess the material's design. The collected information was used to generate micro-stories and other complementary materials, with the purpose of promoting reading habits and making a meaningful connection with children, facilitating comprehension and fostering reflection on the importance of reading. Through accessible graphic elements and narratives, the goal is to stimulate their interest in books, strengthening both their reading skills and their creativity and imagination.Item Diseño Editorial de Material Instruccional como aporte en las Capacitaciones de Primeros Auxilios en Cruz Roja Tungurahua 2025 - 2026(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO FACULTAD DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE DISEÑO GRÁFICO, 2025-07-28) Rojas Rodríguez Stefani Juliana; García Analuisa Diego Patricio; UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO FACULTAD DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE DISEÑO GRÁFICOFirst aid training is essential for preparing volunteers at the Red Cross Tungurahua. However, the current educational materials show design deficiencies that affect learning outcomes. This project aims to improve these resources by developing instructiona l editorial materials. The methodology involved research on educational practices and editorial design, along with interviews with graphic designers and educators to evaluate current tools. The proposed solution includes illustrated interactive slides, fla shcards, pocket cards, a guide notebook, and other tools. All with a focus on design. A test was conducted with two groups: Group A (control) using existing materials and Group B (experimental) using the new design. The results showed average scores of 4.5 and 8.9, respectively, demonstrating a significant improvement in learning with the new resources. The findings support that the new editorial design enhances training effectiveness and can be replicated in other Red Cross programs.
