Item La búsqueda de la belleza, aproximación discursiva en Tiktok(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Comunicación, 2026-07-10) Garcés Freire, Camila Estefania; Viteri Torres, Walter FranciscoThe expansion of TikTok has altered the ways in which digital content is produced and distributed, transforming the platform into a space where meanings about beauty, appearance, and personal care are constructed. In this context, this research aimed to analyze the discursive construction of the pursuit of beauty on TikTok, based on the communication resources and forms of representation present in the content created by female creators on the platform. The qualitative approach of the study was carried out with a descriptive and interpretive perspective. The posts of Nan Jiménez and Bárbara Ramírez were chosen due to their connection with hair care, beauty routines, makeup, and skincare, and were subjected to a semiotic-based digital discourse analysis. The analysis considered the verbal, visual, symbolic, and performative elements of the videos, as well as the audience's perceptions as reflected in their comments. The findings revealed two distinct forms of discourse. In Bárbara Ramírez's work, beauty is built upon a natural, staged image, everyday beauty treatments, and a connection with viewers through hair care, recipes, and makeup. Conversely, in Nan Jiménez's work, beauty is associated with skin health and the demystification of standards like "perfect skin." Furthermore, the comments showed that the audience does not act passively, but rather validates, questions, challenges, and reinterprets the content. It is concluded that TikTok not only reproduces dominant aesthetic models but also allows for their discussion and reformulation. On this platform, beauty is configured as a relational discourse between creators, communication resources, and audiencesItem Educación intercultural y participación comunitaria(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-07-09) Tubón Guamán, Erick Stalin; Espín Miniguano, Anita DalilaIntercultural education is essential in the Salasaka community; it helps us keep our cultural identity alive and promote community participation. Currently, globalization and modernization, along with shifting interests among young people, have led to a decline in the transmission of ancestral knowledge and participation in community activities. The objective was to determine the influence of intercultural education on community participation among young people. The study was conducted using a qualitative approach and involved 15 young people from the Salasaka parish. The technique used was a semi-structured interview consisting of 9 prepared questions. Based on the creation of a predefined matrix, categories related to interculturality, ancestral knowledge, cultural identity, mingas, youth leadership, social participation, and community strengthening were identified. The analysis and coding of the data were performed using ATLAS.ti software. It was evident that community participation strengthened leadership, shared responsibility, and a sense of belonging among the youth. Additionally, challenges related to generational changes, sociocultural transformations, and the use of technological resources were identified. Among the factors contributing to intercultural education, the transmission of knowledge, the use of the Quichua language, local customs, and community life were identified as elements that strengthened and promoted cultural identity among young people.Item Revitalización Cultural y Transmisión Intergeneracional de Saberes en familias shuar(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-07-09) Chimbo Sichique, Juan David; Pino Loza, Eulalia DoloresThe present research aimed to analyze cultural revitalization and the intergenerational transmission of knowledge within Shuar families, considering the social and cultural factors that influence the preservation of cultural identity and ancestral knowledge. The study arose from the need to understand how language, oral tradition, collective memory, community practices, and family relationships contribute to keeping traditional customs and knowledge alive among new generations. Likewise, the effects of colonization, Western schooling, globalization, and social changes were addressed, as these processes have caused a progressive weakening in the use of the Shuar language and cultural transmission within indigenous communities. The research was developed under a qualitative approach through bibliographic review and analysis of studies related to cultural revitalization, cultural resistance, intercultural education, and ethnic identity. Among the main findings, it was evidenced that cultural revitalization strengthens the identity of the Shuar people by allowing the recovery of ancestral practices and traditional knowledge. In addition, intergenerational transmission was identified as an essential mechanism for preserving language, collective memory, and ancestral knowledge through family and community participation, strengthening the cultural continuity of the Shuar people. However, limitations related to the lack of interest among some young people, the influence of external cultural models, and the reduction of spaces for the use of the indigenous language in community environments were also identified. Furthermore, the importance of strengthening education to preserve culture was highlighted.Item La educación bilingüe y la ley orgánica de educación intercultural en la unidad educativa comunitaria intercultural bilingüe pueblo kisapincha(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Derecho, 2026-07-08) Cangui Yugsi, Juan Carlos; Vargas Villacrés, Borman RenánThis research analyzes the implementation of bilingual education at the Unidad Educativa Comunitaria Intercultural Bilingüe Pueblo Kisapincha, based on the guidelines established by the Organic Law of Intercultural Education (LOEI, by its Spanish acronym). The study adopts a qualitative approach of documentary and field research type, with descriptive and explanatory levels, using semi-structured interviews and bibliographic observation as data collection techniques. The sample consisted of 10 participants community leaders, former students, and parents directly linked to the educational institution. The results show that, although progress has been made in strengthening cultural identity and community participation, structural limitations remain that prevent full compliance with current regulations. The main findings include insufficient intercultural bilingual training among teachers, limited availability of didactic materials in the Kichwa language, the progressive displacement of the indigenous language among new generations, and the gap between what the LOEI establishes and its effective application in daily pedagogical practice. It is concluded that the Unidad Educativa Comunitaria Intercultural Bilingüe Pueblo Kisapincha has a solid regulatory framework, however, this has not been sufficient to guarantee quality intercultural bilingual education. It is recommended to strengthen teacher training, ensure the availability of educational materials in Kichwa, and consolidate the active participation of the community as a central axis of the educational process.Item La mediación audiovisual en la cobertura de la fiesta de las flores y frutas, y su incidencia en la construcción de la identidad local en Ambato(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Comunicación, 2026-07-07) Benavides Freire, Katherine Nicole; Tamayo Maldonado, Alex Rodrigo Tamayo MaldonadoThis research analyzes audiovisual mediation in the media coverage of the Fiesta de las Flores y Frutas and its influence on the construction of local cultural identity in the city ofAmbato. It is here that the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador in its Article 171 supports indigenous justice in solutions to internal conflicts guaranteeing the decisions of the indigenous jurisdiction are respected by institutions and authorities. Taking into account the importance of the Magna Carta, the present research aims to determine how the crime of cattle rustling impacts the economic subsistence, cultural identity and fundamental rights of the community, as well as the effectiveness of the ordinary and indigenous justice systems. For this, a type of descriptive research is used that determines the causes of the phenomenon addressed. A mixed method is used that starts from a theoretical-bibliographic-documentary review and the statistical processing of the problem through the application of a questionnaire to the population of Salasaka. The interview guide as a selected instrument is applied to three indigenous leaders. The results reveal that cattle rustling not only affects the family economy based on sheep and cattle farming, but also constitutes symbolic violence against the Salasaka worldview, where cattle have ritual and reciprocal value.
