(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-01-20) Ramos Mosquera, Micaela Alejandra; Chiliguinga Vejar, Lorena del Carmen
Nomophobia, defined as the irrational fear of not being able to use or losing access to one's mobile phone, has become a problem in modern society, which can have repercussions on various aspects of personal and family life. The objective of the research is to evaluate the influence of nomophobia on parents in family communication. To this end, a quantitative, descriptive and correlational methodology was used, which was developed with 209 parents and 209 students from the Pedro Vicente Maldonado Unified General Baccalaureate Educational Unit. To study the variable of nomophobia, the Nomophobia Questionnaire (NMPQ) by Yildirim and Correia was used, consisting of 20 items divided into four dimensions. the Family Communication Scale created by Barnes and Olson was applied to the family communication variable. This scale consists of two subscales that measure the degree of openness and the magnitude of family communication problems and comprises 20 items for parents and 20 items for children. Among the main results, it is noteworthy that the level of nomophobia in parents indicates the existence of an initial and moderate dependence on mobile devices, since mild and moderate levels of nomophobia are established as the most prevalent in the parents in the study. With regard to the quality of family communication between parents and children, it is considered moderate, since both parties maintain acceptable communication, with both parents and children considering themselves to be good listeners. However, there are certain barriers to communication, which is why the influence of nomophobia in parents does not constitute a factor that interferes with family communication, since despite the fact that parents show minimal dependence, there is adequate communication between parents and children.

In the digital age, phubbing has emerged as a growing concern, describing the trend of prioritizing the phone over social interactions. This behavior, although it may seem harmless, significantly impacts personal relationships and emotional well-being, especially in educational settings such as high school. Social skills, essential for personal and academic development, are affected by the excessive use of technological devices such as mobile phones, which can hinder the ability to interact effectively with others. This study focused on investigating the relationship between first- and second-year high school students. The objective of this study is to investigate the relationship of Phubbing and social skills in firstand second-year high school students of the La Merced-Ambato Educational Unit. The study was carried out with a quantitative approach, using a descriptive and correlational design. We worked with a sample of 60 first and second high school students. For the analysis of variables, Cumpa's Phubbing Scale (2017) and Goldstein's Social Skills Evaluation Scale (1980) were applied through a survey in Google Forms. The results revealed high levels of Phubbing in dimensions such as anxiety-insomnia (58.3%), dependency (60.0%) and interpersonal relationships (53.3%). In contrast, a normal level of social skills was found in the sample studied. A strong negative correlation (-0.678) was identified between phubbing and social skills, indicating that excessive mobile phone use is associated with a significant reduction in students' ability to interact effectively unsocial situations, manage emotions, plan appropriately. and resolve conflicts without resorting to aggression. This study highlights the importance of addressing Phubbing as a problem that can affect the social and emotional development of first and second high school students, underlining the need to promote a balanced and conscious use of technology to promote healthy social skills in this population through strategic programs to address the latent problem

The present degree project was proposed by means of two variables that are of general knowledge and represent a social problem in the lives of workers, such as Telework and Psychosocial Risks that can occur in teachers of the educational unit "Seeds of Life" from the city of Latacunga, province of Cotopaxi. Therefore, a general objective has been proposed and three specific objectives to be developed, the main one is the detection of psychosocial risks and the influence they cause on the psychological well-being of teachers, the diagnosis of the level of workload of each teacher, analysis of risk factors and finally actions that can be executed to minimize or eliminate this problem through workshops and professional intervention who will promote knowledge in new technologies and digital platforms to reduce the discomforts developed by the new modality. Due to this new modality, there have been several inconveniences in the teachers' routine, for which it has been decided to carry out this work through a correlational analysis of the surveys applied to the teachers, showing several results that were analyzed and interpreted in order to obtain values and make decisions about the possible actions to face these risks. Once the research is completed, with data established under standardized parameters, it can be confirmed that the new telework model recurs as a direct condition in the appearance of psychosocial risks in the teachers of the Educational Unit. Through this, a proposal will be used on the activities that will be applied to teachers to minimize the impact of the use of new technologies, thus eliminating risks until they can resume face-to-face educational activities. To conclude, one of the main recommendations is to train teaching staff with friendly techniques and methods on the use of new technologies, digital platforms, electronic connection equipment and social networks, through which they can obtain adequate knowledge, thus turning weaknesses into strengths. and thus achieving the elimination of psychosocial risks.
