Item La identidad y salud mental en niños, niñas y adolescentes(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-07-09) Lema Lema, Mayuri Nicole; Pino Loza, Eulalia DoloresThis research focused on analyzing identity and its impact on the mental health of children and adolescents at the "General Rumiñahui" Educational Unit. The study arose from the identification of problems evidenced in the data obtained, which revealed manifestations of insecurity, difficulties in self-perception, doubts about personal abilities, emotional vulnerability, and the presence of emotions associated with anxiety and sadness that influence the students' holistic development. Methodologically, a quantitative, descriptive, and correlational study was conducted, applying a survey to 63 students using validated instruments such as the Identity Development Scale for Young University Students and the Positive Mental Health Scale. The main results showed that parenting styles, emotional support, communication, and family support significantly influenced personal security, self-esteem, and emotional stability. Furthermore, insecurity, difficulties with self-concept, and emotional vulnerability were identified as limiting identity consolidation. Furthermore, the research revealed manifestations of anxiety, sadness, and difficulties in emotional regulation; however, students with greater socio-emotional skills, coping abilities, and family support showed higher levels of self-esteem, decision-making capacity, and healthy interpersonal relationships. The study concluded that identity and mental health are closely linked and interdependent processes, where strengthening a solid identity fosters the development of emotional, social, and personal skills, highlighting the need to implement preventive strategies and interventions from a social work perspective aimed at strengthening students' emotional well-being and holistic developmentItem Objetividad laboral(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-07-08) Yanzapanta Salán, Jahaira Pierina; Altamirano Altamirano, Silvia JovannaWorkplace objectivity at the Empresa Pública Mancomunada de Tránsito Tungurahua de Pelileo is an essential element for strengthening institutional transparency, equity, and trust among employees. Drawing on the ideas of Pierre Bourdieu, it is understood that this type of violence operates silently through everyday gestures and practices that often go unnoticed but reinforce the subordination of women and maintain entrenched inequalities in areas such as family, school, and work. Within the context analyzed, these dynamics are more profound due to geographical isolation, the persistence of cultural traditions, educational limitations, the burden of care within the home, and the lack of public policies adapted to this territory. Methodologically, the research was conducted using a qualitative approach, with semi-structured interviews to gather as much relevant information as possible from their life stories. An observation guide was also used during field visits, and direct observation was carried out on site to identify women who met the study criteria. The results show that women tend to internalize inequality as part of their “natural order,” accepting different forms of devaluation and exclusion as normal. The influence of family, religion, school dynamics, and the amito was identified in the reproduction of discourses that justify male authority and diminish the female voice. Challenges for Social Work were also identified, including the urgent need for interventions with an ethnic focus, community support, strengthening of formal networks within the sector, and management of viable public policies designed for this vulnerable group. The study concludes that symbolic violence in rural areas is a structural phenomenon that requires contextualized public policies, sustained prevention strategies, and an interdisciplinary approach that allows for the transformation of the cultural foundations that sustain inequalityItem Pertenencia intergeneracional en la comunidad Salasaka(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-01-20) Llerena Vallejo, Kevin Alexander; Balseca Basantes, Jeanneth ElizabethIntergenerational belonging in the Salasaka community is essential for preserving cultural continuity and strengthening collective identity. Relationships between young people and older adults have undergone significant transformations due to modernization and changing youth interests, leading to a decline in cultural participation and the transmission of ancestral knowledge. The objective of this research was to analyze intergenerational belonging in the Salasaka community. The study employed a qualitative approach, with a population of 20 older adults and 15 young people from the Salasaka Parish Council. The data collection technique was a semi-structured interview consisting of 10 pre-designed questions. Based on a pre-established matrix, patterns and categories related to rituals and traditions, transmission of ancestral practices, daily life, participation, and shared identity were identified. Data analysis and coding were performed using ATLAS.ti software, which facilitated processing. The results reveal a progressive distancing of young people from older adults. In addition, a proposal was put forward to develop an “Intergenerational Seedbed” with the aim of reinforcing these bonds of coexistence that would help to reactivate meeting spaces with the elderly and strengthen intergenerational tiesItem Uso de la Inteligencia Artificial en estudiantes de Trabajo Social(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-01-20) Chasipanta Pila, Melida Janeth; Chiliquinga Véjar, Lorena Del CarmenThe incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) tools has significantly transformed academic and professional practices in higher education. In the field of Social Work, a discipline committed to vulnerable populations and grounded in ethical principles of social justice, human rights, and self-determination, it is essential to understand how future professionals are adopting these emerging technologies during their academic training. The objective of this study was to analyze the use of artificial intelligence among Social Work students at the Faculty of Jurisprudence and Social Sciences of the Technical University of Ambato. The research adopted a quantitative approach through the application of a self-designed questionnaire, subjected to content validation and reliability processes. The questionnaire was designed to measure four dimensions and was administered to 224 Social Work students aged between 21 and 23 years. The results revealed that the use of AI has been universally and practically integrated into the students' academic and professional activities, optimizing their learning processes. Furthermore, three levels of use of these tools were identified: high, medium, and low, with a predominance of the medium level. This suggests that the group has moved beyond the initial discovery phase but has not yet reached a level of expertise. It was also determined that these tools are primarily used for idea generation, writing, study case simulation, and creative and content production tasks, as opposed to methodological and analytical tasks. Finally, the findings allowed for the identification of professional Social Work practice activities where AI is most frequently used, such as searching for information on public policies, developing educational materials, and resolving complex situations. However, its integration faces resistance in core professional activities, likely because these require trustbased relationships, human sensitivity, ethical judgment, and a deep understanding of the sociocultural contextItem Redes de apoyo y factores psicosociales en los adultos mayores(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2025-07-30) Gómez Peralta, Samantha Sheresade; Haro Lara, Aida PatriciaThe support networks that older adults have determine their quality of life at the stage they are in, a place where they converge with psychosocial factors from their own internal vision and the support they perceive from institutions, family or friends, making it clear how this relationship not only leads to healthier lifestyles, but comprehensively affects routines, nutrition, sustenance, emotions and senses, in the complexity of creating a healthy lifestyle in the physical and psychological aspect, in turn showing from Social Work a descriptive analysis of these structures in the group of older adults from the Ambato Health Center No. 1, which under the technical and methodological bases of the profession, data and lifestyles of this population are qualitatively and quantitatively explored, visualizing challenges in the emotional structures of older adults, from their visions that show a lack of resilience there is a field that must be addressed comprehensively, at the same time as the role taken by public health institutions of the State as entities that preserve and promote the health of the elderly in programs and projects that do not They are isolated from healthcare and medication, but their approach has allowed the creation of a valuable support network for older adults, where most find a space conducive to their development and vital to maintaining their lifestyle. Work in the organizational environment as a fundamental science in the constitution of a culture of accountability focused on the delivery of transparent information on the decisions made by public servants of the Ministry of Transport and Public Works District of Tungurahua (MTOP). Corporate Social Work emerges as a strategic discipline to promote effective accountability practices that improve organizational dynamics, promoting cohesion and social justice. Likewise, empowerment and a sense of belonging are key elements in achieving a culture of accountability, since the collaborators of an organization must feel committed to the institution to which they belong and be aware of the impact their decisions have on society and the business community. The line of research is focused on the social and democratic establishment, analyzing the social worker as a bridge between society and the State, especially in the promotion of a culture based on transparency, proactivity, responsibility and commitment. Therefore, a quantitative methodology was applied by means of a survey that allowed the collection of objective data. Finally, this research approach not only collaborates with institutional improvement and labor welfare, but also in the development of more sustainable, fair and equitable public policies. In short, the research shows that the role of the social worker has a positive impact on the search for democracy in public management.Item Inserción laboral del trabajador social en el ámbito educativo(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2025-07-30) Huiracocha Toapanta, Emily Aracely; Torres Carrillo, Silvia SusanaThe purpose of this research work is to determine the importance of the labor insertion of the social worker in the educational field, to identify the functions he performs, to analyze the main challenges he faces and to describe the experiences lived by the professionals who are incorporated in this context. The research is developed within a qualitative approach, under an exploratory and descriptive level, which facilitated a detailed understanding of the complex reality from the voice of the professionals. The analytical-synthetic method was applied, complemented by the inductive one, which favored a comprehensive reflection on the role of Social Work in education. The research modality was bibliographic and field. The bibliographic part allowed to theoretically substantiate the central categories of analysis, while the fieldwork was carried out through structured interviews which were applied to fifteen social workers who currently work in educational institutions. The data collection made it possible to identify a series of fundamental functions that these professionals fulfill, including psychosocial accompaniment to students and families, inter-institutional articulation, and the promotion of school coexistence. Likewise, structural challenges such as the lack of institutional recognition, job insecurity and scarce presence in the education system are evident. The findings allow us to conclude that the presence of the social worker in the educational field is essential to comprehensively address the social problems that affect the teaching-learning processes, and provide key elements to consider their formal incorporation into educational policies.
