This research addresses the problem of incorrect waste classification through the development of "MiniEco", an Android mobile application integrated with artificial intelligence for primary school students at the Juan León Mera La Salle Educational Unit. The Mobile-D methodology was used for software development and CRISP-DM for artificial intelligence. After initially training a ResNet50 architecture with TrashNet, it failed in real-time due to unvaried backgrounds and camera frame processing issues. Therefore, the system was optimized using a more diverse, real world dataset and selecting the EfficientNetV2S model. This model was converted to TensorFlow Lite to ensure 100 percent offline operation, achieving a laboratory accuracy of 94.50 percent with a final application size of 36 MB, which maintained a CPU consumption of 16 percent on low-end hardware. In the validation phase with 32 students, a significant increase in ecological knowledge was recorded, moving from 18.75 percent correct answers in the initial diagnosis to an effectiveness of up to 93 percent in tests with the tool. The usability evaluation using the SUS metric showed a satisfaction rate of 96 percent among the students. It is concluded that the integration of local computer vision and mobile gamification strengthens environmental learning at an early age, overcoming institutional connectivity limitations and providing an autonomous, scalable, and highly efficient pedagogical tool.

Animal abandonment and overpopulation place sustained pressure on rescue organizations that still rely on manual procedures. At the Fundacion Huellitas, information about available animals was scattered across social media, paper records reached occupancy near ninety percent, search filters were absent, and adopter evaluation depended on manual judgment without digital validation. This fragmentation limited adoption campaigns and weakened the adopter experience. The study aimed to develop a mobile application that facilitates the adoption of stray animals and improves user experience within the foundation. A field and applied research approach combined surveys with potential adopters and interviews with foundation staff to define functional and non-functional requirements. The application was developed under the Rapid Application Development methodology across its four phases, using React Native with Expo, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Authentication, Storage, Cloud Messaging, and Cloud Functions as an intermediary layer toward the Gemini image-generation model. The system integrated four independent modules: adoption, lost pets, generative artificial intelligence, and administration. Acceptance testing across four iterations on a physical Android device verified twenty-six functional and non-functional criterio with full compliance. Usability was measured through the System Usability Scale applied to twelve potential adopters who first completed five representative tasks, yielding a mean of 80.21 and a standard deviation of 4.05. Every participant exceded the industry benchmark of sixty-eight points, and 66.7 % reached the good-usability threshold. The findings confirm that the application improved the adopter experience over the previous manual process and offer a scalable basis for future animal-welfare features.

In the competitive world of intralogistics, characterized by increasingly rigorous operational demands, efficiency in storage and distribution processes has become a strategic factor for organizations. This research work addresses a critical problem present in numerous Ecuadorian companies: deficiencies in the product collection or picking process, derived from the use of manual methods, paper-based records, and connectivity limitations in warehouse environments. These conditions generate operational delays, increase the probability of human errors, and directly affect business productivity and profitability. In response to this reality, the research proposes the development and implementation of a technological solution based on a mobile application designed under a hybrid offline/online architecture. Through the use of the .NET MAUI ecosystem, the tool allows operators to perform scanning, validation, and inventory activities even in areas with limited or nonexistent network access. Subsequently, once connectivity is restored, the information is automatically synchronized with the central ERP system, guaranteeing the integrity, traceability, and real-time updating of data. The evaluation of the technological tool demonstrates that the proposed solution optimizes logistics processes, reduces economic losses caused by returns and unproductive times, and strengthens organizational competitiveness through the digital transformation of warehouse operations.

Tisaleo canton faces fragmentation in the dissemination of tourist and cultural information, where 68.75% of community representatives acknowledge that content does not come from official sources and 37.50% consider that cultural events occasionally achieve sufficient dissemination. This dispersion limits the recognition of cantonal heritage and reduces the impact of local tourism. The research focuses on developing a mobile application that centralizes and promotes the canton's cultural and tourist information. The research employed a mixed approach with field and bibliographic-documentary modality. Surveys were applied to 32 representatives from tourism sectors, interviews to 3 officials from the Municipal GAD, and direct observation of dissemination mechanisms. The findings reveal that 65.63% of visitors use mobile devices to search for tourist information and 62.50% prefer to receive notifications from applications. For development, the Kanban methodology was selected, implementing Clean Architecture in Flutter, backend in Laravel, MySQL database, and integration with Firebase for authentication and notifications. The application integrates two sections: the first for tourists with category navigation, an interactive map, reviews, and real-time notifications, while the second constitutes the administrative part, protected with two-factor authentication to manage content. The mobile application centralizes tourist and cultural information on a single platform, automatically synchronizing content between administrative management and the section for tourist users. This provides the Municipal GAD with an official tool that resolves information fragmentation, improving organized access to cantonal heritage

The digitization of administrative processes in Latin American small and medium-sized enterprises represents a fundamental shift toward optimizing operations through technological tools. This evolution seeks to increase accuracy in information management, reduce human error, and strengthen organizational oversight capabilities. In Ecuador, particularly in commercial enterprises, traditional methods are still in use, hindering administrative efficiency. Autorepuestos W.M.C.C., an automotive parts distributor in Ambato, exemplifies this problem by maintaining a manual attendance record system that generates multiple issues with staff tardiness, constant information loss, and unauthorized modifications to recorded schedules. This situation complicates customer service during the first hour of operation and limits informed management decision-making. For this reason, this research aims to develop and implement a mobile application capable of automating attendance records, validating the geographical location of personnel using GPS with an accuracy of 5 meters, and generating real-time reports that facilitate administrative control. The technological development followed Kanban principles, implementing Flutter for mobile devices, ASP.NET Core as a service server, and SQL Server for storage, integrating Google Maps API for verification. The results reveal 93% acceptance among employees and total confidence in the effectiveness of the system, demonstrating that the solution eliminates deficiencies in the manual method, guarantees the integrity of records, and provides verifiable information for administrative decisions.

Nowadays, technology has become an essential part of many processes in human life. In fact, for sectors such as commerce, industry, and healthcare, it is a fundamental component that allows them to function properly and continue growing and evolving. The transportation sector is no exception, as technology also plays a role by offering improvements in various aspects. The Santiago de Quero Transport Cooperative, a company dedicated to public transportation, currently manages a manual time control system along its route, which causes delays in the buses' journeys. This research project proposes the implementation of a mobile application focused on the automated control of time records through the geolocation (GPS) of the mobile device. This system introduces new digital control points distributed along the route. With the help of the XP methodology, the project was developed iteratively using the Dart programming language and the Flutter framework. For the backend, the Node.js framework was used, and MongoDB was chosen as the database. This non-relational database adapts well to the proposed solution. The system replaces the various manual control points along the route with digital ones, resulting in better time management and greater ease in performing the tasks involved.
