Carrera de Ingeniería IndustrialThe purpose of this research project is to provide the company Lavandería Saritex with a proposal for controlling noise exposure during the jeans washing and dyeing process, with the objective of establishing measures to prevent and control the risk involved. It originates from the problem of a lack of established protocols and safety measures, which is why a qualitive and quantitative approach was used to analyze the perception and experience of the staff in order to accurately diagnose the current state of the company. During visits to the company, the first phase of the GTC-45 Matrix was applied, which allowed the identification and estimation of the risks existing within the process, finding noise as the main risk affecting workers which required an evaluation. The noise evaluation revealed that the levels to which the crafts manager is exposed are 84,98 dB (A), with an uncertainty of 3, the person in charge of centrifuging is exposed to 84,20 dB (A), with an uncertainty of 2,64, and finally, the person in charge of drying is exposed to 84,74 dB (A) with an uncertainty of 2,97, exceeding the permitted limits. It determined the need to establish a control proposal aimed at mitigating the identified risk is determined, with the objective of ensuring adequate health and safety conditions for workers. This document is sent to the general manager of the Saritex laundry, who must assess its feasibility and consider its implementation. Carrera de Ingeniería IndustrialThe present investigative work aims to provide the company Rectificadora Salcedo with the design of a Comprehensive Industrial Safety Plan for its production system, with the objective of establishing occupational risk prevention and control measures. This arises from the existing issues caused by the absence of protocols and safety measures. To address this, a qualitative and quantitative approach is applied, examining both the perception and experience of personnel to diagnose the company's current situation. Risk assessment was carried out using the General Risk Assessment Guide from INSHT. Thirteen activities were evaluated across twelve workstations within the production system, identifying sixteen risks, of which nine were deemed unacceptable. Manual load handling, analyzed using the GINSHT method, represents a non-tolerable risk, as the actual manipulated weight exceeds the recommended limit by 6.6 kg. Additionally, the analysis of safety conditions using the William T. Fine method determined that most occupational risks related to projected materials and burns were classified as low; however, the risk of falling objects was categorized as medium. Finally, the importance of implementing control strategies to mitigate biomechanical risks and identified safety conditions is emphasized. The designed proposals are presented to the company's general manager, who evaluates their feasibility and commits to their future implementation, promoting optimal conditions for a safe and healthy work environment. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial, 2025-02) ;Baño Tapuy Mishel SaraiJordán Hidalgo Edisson PatricioThe present research work aims to provide SOMEC Napo School with a technical management of occupational health and safety, for which a qualitative-quantitative approach is applied that addresses the perception and experience of workers to analyse the current situation of the institution; likewise, during the visits, the risks present are identified and their estimation is carried out using the INSHT general risk assessment guide. The risks classified as important and intolerant were measured following applicable internationally accepted standards: lighting with NOM-025-STPS-2008, noise with NTE INEN-ISO 9612 and the ISTAS 21 questionnaire for psychosocial risk. The results indicate that the instructors are exposed to non-ionising radiation (ultraviolet rays), noise that in some cases exceeds 85 dB, collisions with immobile objects and falls to different levels; on the other hand, the administrative staff are exposed to: stress, tension, mental fatigue and noise levels above 70 dB for offices; finally, teachers work under inadequate lighting, with values below the 300 lux required for classrooms, as well as facing stress, tension and mental fatigue in carrying out their activities. Finally, the importance of establishing control measures to mitigate the physical, psychological and mechanical risks identified is concluded. These proposals are socialised with the director of the institution who evaluates their feasibility and commits to their future implementation, guaranteeing a safe and healthy working environment.Item type:Ítem, Riesgos mecánicos en el departamento de obras públicas del GAD Latacunga(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial, 2024-02) ;Moreira Almache, Edy VladimirJordán Hidalgo, Edisson PatricioThe safety of workers is a matter of utmost relevance today, both for private and public companies. For this reason, the current research project aims to identify and assess the risks most prevalent in the activities carried out by workers in the metal-mechanical industrial workshop of the GAD Latacunga. The risk assessment focused specifically on mechanical risks. The absence of occupational risk management means that workshop workers are exposed to various risks that threaten their safety, health, and physical integrity. In order to detect risk factors in the activities conducted in the industrial workshop, various tools were utilized, including interviews, checklists, description sheets, and a triple-criteria matrix. These tools allowed for detailing the risks to which workers are exposed. By applying the PGV methodology (Probability, Severity, Vulnerability), it was possible to identify and evaluate risk factors, resulting in a total of 262 identified elements. Out of these, 35 correspond to physical factors, 143 to mechanical factors, 28 to chemical factors, 29 to biological factors, 12 to ergonomic factors, 15 to psychosocial factors, and no major explosion risks were identified. Once the risks with the highest prevalence in the workshop were identified, their assessment was carried out using the technical standard NTP 330. This standard allowed for evaluating each of the mechanical risks present in the activity, assigning them a level of action classified as acceptable, improvable, correctable, or critical situation. Finally, a prevention plan for mechanical risks was developed, consisting of three phases: an initial phase establishing policies and objectives, an operational phase covering identification, evaluation, and prevention, and lastly, a supervision phase involving monitoring and control. The goal of this plan is to minimize and prevent risks in the work areas
