Item Elaboración de un plan de mantenimiento de la vía comprendida entre los barrios Danzapamba y San José de Barba la Y desde la abscisa 0+000 hasta 5+000, cantón Pujilí.(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2025-02) Guzmán Bayas, Rubén Alejandro; Bayas Altamirano, Myriam MarisolGiven the advanced deterioration of the Danzapamba and San José de Barba la Y neighborhood roads, the current safety and road infrastructure standards do not meet the technical requirements necessary to guarantee their optimal serviceability, for which a comprehensive and sustainable maintenance plan is proposed. This responds directly to the urgent need for adequate, modern and efficient road infrastructure for the continued progress of the inhabitants to ensure their safety and that of road users in general. To establish an effective road maintenance plan, we began with a thorough assessment of the road's current condition. This critical stage involved techniques such as topographic surveying with the aid of a high-precision RTK instrument, as well as detailed traffic studies and laboratory soil analysis. The evaluation of the Pavement Index (PCI) complemented this information, allowing the existing deterioration to be quantified. With this data, an optimal structural package for flexible pavements was designed and a reference budget was prepared, thus ensuring an efficient and long-lasting road intervention. After a thorough analysis, it was established that the evaluated road has an extension of 5 km, which is paved in its entirety, and it is expected that in the next 20 years an average of 6792 vehicles/day will circulate on it. Considering these characteristics, the road was classified as a class I road. The soil studies indicated an average CBR index of 16.50 percent, classifying the soil as fair to good for subgrade use. Based on this data, the flexible pavement was designed with a thickness of 5 cm of asphalt layer, 20 cm of base and 20 cm of subbase, thus obtaining a value of 45 cm of structural package. Finally, an economic analysis was performed, resulting in an estimated total project cost of $685.945,65.Item Evaluación estructural del pavimento ubicado en la red vial estatal E45, entre las abscisas 10+480 y 10+520 del sector de Santa Clara, cantón de Santa Clara perteneciente a la provincia de Pastaza(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2025-02) Brabo Valencia, Hugo Israel; Bayas Altamirano, Myriam MarisolThe eastern region, due to its geographic location in particular, has characteristics that make the road infrastructure susceptible to natural risks such as landslides, settlements, collapses and ground instabilities. These conditions directly affect mobility, generating incidences in the economic and social activities that depend on these road systems; therefore, in this experimental research project, a structural evaluation of the pavement is carried out, through studies of: soils, hydrography and the identification of geological faults, in order to mitigate the risk of accidents caused by the high rainfall characteristic of the eastern area under study. The investigation began with a visual recognition of the study point, observing the geography and topography of the analysis area. During this stage, the presence of a settlement on the roadway could be seen, so the georeferenced topographic survey was carried out, allowing a specific assessment of the relief and shape of the terrain. Likewise, samples were taken for the study of soils by means of test pits, finding a greater presence of coarse material. These samples were later transported to the laboratory where the corresponding tests were carried out to determine the physical and mechanical properties of the collected soil. The presence of geological faults in the road network was also identified. Likewise, the hydrography of the study area was analyzed. As a result of the evaluation, it was concluded that the settlement detected in the roadway is mainly caused by the infiltration of water into the road network between the aforementioned abscissas. For this reason, a channeling system for surface and infiltrated water was designed as part of the solution to the problem, which includes the use of alternative solutions such as the French drain.Item Evaluación de las vías urbanas en el cantón Ambato del sector comprendido entre la av. Julio Jaramillo Laurido, calle Carlos Rubira Infante, av. Luis Aníbal Granja, carretera panamericana (Troncal de la Sierra E 35)(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2023-03) Pilaguano Umaginga, Ángel Miguel; Cañizares Proaño, Byron GenaroThis project presents the need to evaluate the condition of the urban roads in the canton of Ambato, since the road infrastructure is affected over the years, being exposed to climate changes and traffic flow, which affects economic, commercial, agricultural and tourism development. First, a visual evaluation of the roads was made in order to determine the faults in the pavements. In order to identify the existing faults, a survey was carried out to record their location, type of fault, degree of severity and magnitude; the PCI methodology was also used to determine the condition of the roads that make up the perimeter. Within the study area, it was identified that there are failures in the flexible pavement and articulated pavement, where the most common ones in the flexible pavement are longitudinal and transverse cracks and patches, while in the articulated pavement the most common failures are vegetation on the roadway. With the faults found in the study area, a database was created in the ArcGIS program, in order to know the location and characteristics of one of the detected faultsItem Evaluación de las vías urbanas en el cantón Ambato del sector comprendido entre la calle Quis Quis, Av. Manuela Sáenz (Rompe Corazones), calle Floreana, calle Fernando de Magallanes, calle La Pinta, Av. Atahualpa(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2023-03) Bayas Araujo, Mauro Gustavo; Aldás Sánchez, Milton RodrigoThis project presents the need to know the constant deterioration of the urban roads under study, so information is collected on the current state of the wearing course to locate the faults in roads, sidewalks and curbs, and consequently, to manage actions that will facilitate maintenance, optimizing resources and materials that would be used for a subsequent repair. For the development of this project began with the study of the different types of existing faults in the pavements located in the area, after this, the survey of information of the faults in the road infrastructure was performed for which each of the streets established within the study area was visited through the use of measuring instruments such as: GPS, and Topographic Odometer, which comprises the collection of the type of fault that is presented, and the characteristics such as: severity and area of affectation, each of them located by geographical coordinates and photographic record. At the end of the evaluation, an information matrix was obtained detailing each of the important aspects of the failures in the road structure within the study area, as well as a budget of UDS 123,536.30 so that in the future it can be executed with the road maintenance of the selected area and also obtained a dynamic aid that facilitates the visualization of each of the failures carried out with the help of a digital tool.
