Item INTERVENCION DE ENFERMERIA EN ADULTOS MAYORES CON INSOMNIO(2025-06-17) Muso Eugenio, Erick Rubén; Espín López, Valeria Isabel; Universidad Técnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Carrera de EnfermeríaIntroduction: aging is loosely related to the chronological age of the person and in turn to the loss of physical, functional, psychological and social capacities. Sleep is a physiological process of fascination and of vital importance for the comprehensive health of the human being, the aging process alters the stages of sleep, which in the long term has side effects and represents economic costs for those older adults who are prescribed with pharmacological treatments. The amount of sleep remains constant throughout adult life, which is why doctors recommend that older adults sleep 7 to 8 hours a day to meet their sleep needs. There are sleep problems in older adults and one of them is insomnia, which is reflected in their daily lives, which is why music therapy appears as a non-pharmacological treatment to help reduce insomnia. Objetive: to evaluate the effect of nursing intervention in older adults with insomnia. Method: this research is quantitative, quasi-experimental in design, longitudinal and descriptive in scope. It was carried out in a period between April 2024-June 2024, in the province of Tungurahua, Canton Ambato, Parroquia La Matriz, Neighborhood Ciudadela España. The sample was 21 older adults from the Hogar de Ancianos Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: the results obtained in this research demonstrate that music therapy as a nursing intervention has positive effects on older adults with insomnia. Conclusion: with the application of the Athens Test before and after the music therapy sessions, a significant improvement was shown in various aspects of sleep, such as difficulty falling asleep, nocturnal awakenings and total sleep duration.Item Plan terapéutico de fuerza muscular en miembro superior con musicoterapia en pacientes con diabetes mellitus tipo 2(2025-03-11) Cajas Vargas, Diego Andrés; Reales Chacón, Lisbeth Josefina; Universidad Técnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Centro de PosgradosThis study, conducted at Universidad Técnica de Ambato, examines the impact of an innovative therapeutic plan combining upper limb strength exercises with music therapy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). This multidimensional approach aims to enhance patients' quality of life and functionality through an accessible and tailored treatment. T2DM affects 10.5% of the global population and 1.7% in Ecuador, with a significant prevalence among older adults. Characterized by chronic hyperglycemia, this condition impacts not only metabolic health but also the musculoskeletal system, leading to muscle mass loss, insulin resistance, and functional limitations. The primary goal of this research was to implement and evaluate a therapeutic plan designed to improve upper limb strength in 28 older adults diagnosed with T2DM. The program consisted of specific exercises and music therapy sessions, totaling 48 sessions over 24 weeks. Music was selected based on participants' preferences to maximize physical and emotional benefits. The methodology included pre- and post-intervention assessments using manual dynamometry to measure muscle strength, and the results were analyzed statistically. Findings showed significant improvements in participants' muscle strength, with an average increase of 3–4 kg in key movements such as shoulder flexion, extension, abduction, and adduction, as well as elbow flexion and extension. This study validates the use of music therapy as a complementary element in physiotherapeutic programs. It also provides a replicable model for future interventions addressing chronic conditions like T2DM, emphasizing the importance of integrated approaches in managing chronic diseases.Item Plan terapéutico de fuerza muscular en miembros inferiores con musicoterapia en pacientes con Diabetes Mellitus Tipo 2(2025-03-11) Balladares López, Mishell Monserrat; Reales Chacón, Lisbeth Josefina; Universidad Técnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Centro de PosgradosDiabetes mellitus type 2 (DM2) is classified as a chronic condition characterized by pathophysiological mechanisms such as insulin resistance and progressive dysfunction of beta cells, leading to inefficient glucose absorption at the musculoskeletal level. This results in alterations in muscle fibers, pain, and weakness. In the lower limbs, there is evidence of a higher prevalence of problems related to locomotion, independence, and functionality in individuals suffering from this condition. Strength exercises combined with music therapy have been shown to improve the characteristics of muscle fibers, enhance internal cellular signaling through specific muscle contractions, and promote adherence to exercise protocols. The purpose of this article was to apply a therapeutic plan focused on muscular strength in the lower limbs combined with music therapy in patients with DM2. The methodology was developed using a quantitative, analytical, prospective, and longitudinal approach with an applicative and intervention-level framework. A sample of 30 individuals from the Centro Recreacional del Adulto Mayor del GAD de Atahualpa was divided into two groups: experimental and control. The sampling design was non-probabilistic and based on convenience. Data collection involved a demographic card, dynamometry tests for lower limbs, the Chair Stand Test, and the Height and Weight items from the Senior Fitness Test battery. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS software and Student's t-test. The primary findings indicated that at the level of ankle dorsiflexors (mean difference: 7.333) and hip abductors (mean difference: 4.667), the experimental group demonstrated significant improvements compared to the control group, which showed negative results. These findings affirm that strength exercises targeting the lower limbs, combined with music therapy, effectively benefit patients diagnosed with DM2.Item Musicoterapia y atención sostenida en niños(Universidad Técnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Centro de Posgrados, 2024-06-14) Chacón Molina, Adriana Belén; Vásquez de la Bandera Cabezas, Fabricio AlejandroItem Musicoterapia y ansiedad en docentes(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Centro de posgrados, 2024-04-01) Real Ocaña, Jenny Margoth Psic.; Vásquez de la Bandera Cabezas, Fabricio MSc.Item Estrategias de musicoterapia para disminuir el riesgo suicida en adultos mayores en situación vulnerabilidad(Universidad Técnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Centro de Posgrados, 2024-03-26) Paredes Guevara, Mónica Jacqueline; Escobar Parra, Norma DalindaItem Musicoterapia y estimulación sensorial enfocado en el síndrome west con alteración del desarrollo psicomotor, mediante el uso del método padovan(Universdidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Estimulación Temprana, 2021-10-01) Paucar Apupalo, Jimson Abraham; Tayo Pazmiño, Ana Cristina Lcda. Mg.West syndrome or childhood spasms is an epileptic encephalopathy or brain disorder of unknown origin, characterized by the triad of infantile spasms, hypsarrhythmia and developmental regression, affects global development, being the psychomotor area the most affected. It has an incidence of 1 per 4,000 live births and predominates in males. There is no specific factor on this anomaly, the World Health Organization through the CIE-10 assigns it as G409 (Epilepsies, unspecified type). The objective of this research is to determine the benefits of the Padovan Method for the advancement of head control in a patient with West Syndrome, the present case is a 5- year-old female patient, who presents alteration in all areas of development, being the psychomotor area the most affected, in which stereotyped movements typical of the syndrome can be observed. The Padovan Method or Neurofunctional reorganization, is a process that combines neuroevolutionary and neurovegetative movements to adapt them peripherally to the nervous system in the form of stimuli. This methodology will be accompanied by music therapy and sensory stimulation to have greater effectiveness in the Early Stimulation sessions. Cl. Mg.The present investigation entitled as the efficacy of the application of music therapy in the stereotyped behaviors of children with autism is carried out in a theoretical and practical wayafter a period of practice in the Center for Early Stimulation Plustherapy of the city of Ambato in order to demonstrate the changes obtained in a positive way through the interventions carried out. For the development of this process, a theoretical research on the pathology itself, its etiology and characteristics has been required, in order to obtain a greater understanding of it and thus through music therapy, achieve efficacy in the therapeutic process. A scale of abnormal movements is applied that allows to establish a starting line to the investigation to later apply a retest and observe the changes in the population through the use of methods and techniques that adapt the resource and transform it into a therapeutic intervention with the objective to improve the quality of life and favor coexistence with peersItem “Programa de ejercicios terapéuticos acompañados de musicoterapia para mejorar la calidad de la marcha en adultos mayores en el Cantón Cevallos”(Universidad Tecnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud /Carrera de Terapia Fisica, 2020-02-01) Jiménez Zúñiga, Carlos Manuel; Espín Pastor, Victoria Estefanía Lcda. MSc.In older adults the aging process modifies the center of gravity, reflexes, balance, flexibility. These conditions decrease the quality of gait and determine a potential risk of falls in the elderly. This research aims to improve the quality of walking in older adults through a program of therapeutic exercises accompanied by music therapy. This research is of quantitative study, 30 participants attended during 12 weeks of intervention. The evaluation was performed with physiotherapeutic tests Mini Best Test and UP & GO, both were applied at the beginning of the sessions. The last evaluation was made after the last session of the exercise program. An intervention program with exercises in both sitting and standing was designed according to the physical-functional capacity of the population with daily sessions of 45 minutes 3 to 4 times per week. After the application of the protocol of therapeutic exercises accompanied by music therapy and when making the final evaluations it is concluded that positive results were obtained in the quality of walking in aspects such as coordination, speed and breadth of passage in relation to the initial evaluation
