Objective(s): To evaluate the importance of nutritional status and dietary practic es during pregnancy in pregnant women from the San Vicente de Tena, Napo Province community. • Identify the nutritional status of pregnant women in the San Vicente de Tena community, Napo Province. • Describe the dietary practices used by pregnant women from the San Vicente de Tena Napo Province community during pregnancy.• Identify if there is an association between dietary practices and nutritional status of pregnant women in the community of San Vicente de Tena, Napo Province. • Evaluate the impact of nutritional status and dietary practices on the developm ent of pregnancy in pregnant women from the community of San Vicente de Tena, Napo Province. Methodology: An investigation will be carried out that meets the characteristics of a quantitative study with a descriptive approach, which allows us to reveal the nutritio n al status of pregnant women in the Tena community with a cross-sectional section, carrying out the study in the months of March - May 2024. The sample was develop ed with the participation of 208 pregnant women who make up the universe of particip an ts selected through inclusion and exclusion criteria. Finally, the data were tabulated in the SPSS software to obtain the results.Item Estrategias de terapia comunitaria para mejorar la comunicación entre padres e hijos(Universdidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Centro de posgrados, 2021-09-01) Vasco Alban, Veronica Paulina; Larzabal Fernández, Aitor Lcdo. MSc.This research work was done with the main goal that is improving communication among parents and children of the First level of Bachelor "A" of Juan Benigno Vela School of Ambato town. This project was taken into account due to the need for an intervention that would allow parents to improve communication with their children since the COVID-19 pandemic affected family life. The research emphasized on a pre-experimental design with a quantitative approach. Based on that, a sample of 21 parents were selected through non-probabilistic sampling, a pre-test and a post-test were applied with the Family Communication Scale (FCS) which is elaborated by Barnes and Olson, it measures the perception of satisfaction regarding family communication: listening, expression of affection, discussing ideas and mediating conflicts. The effectiveness of the intervention was verified, so the posttest presented favorable results. It was concluded that the intervention reached significant results in parents when they communicate with their children. It emphasizes the benefits that the whole family will have like getting a better level of communication and a healthy family lifeItem Impacto de las tecnologías de la información y comunicación en acciones de promoción de salud del primer nivel de atención en la comunidad Zumbalica(Universdidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2021-04-01) Rodríguez Castellano, Irene Lisseth; Quenorán Almeida, Verónica Sofía Lic.Introduction: Currently there is a scenario of health transformation as a result of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), which allow optimizing procedures during health practice and in a neat way the information it produces. Objective: Analyze the impact of Information and Communication Technologies in health promotion actions of the First Level of Care in the Zumbalica community. Methods: Methodology allowed to carry out a qualitative and descriptive approach study by means of a saturation of the information; Thus, the data collection was carried out through a semi-structured interview, whose information was analyzed according to the methodology of Demaziere D. and Dubar Claude, attached to the Declaration of Helsinki as a reference to bioethical principles, as well as the respect and confidentiality of information for scientific purposes. Results: Zumbalica community responded favorably to the incorporation of ICTs regarding health promotion at the first level of care, which have been seen as an engine of change in the improvement of services because these tools are no longer conceived As a simple communication system, due to the creation of telemedicine, the growing and demanding needs for quality health care and easy access are covered. Conclusions: The analysis of the impact of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in health promotion actions of the first level of care in the Zumbalica community allowed to reveal that ICT in care is used mainly as a communication tool between health professionals and patients or relatives.Item “Análisis de marcha en adultos mayores indígenas de las comunidades altas de Quisapincha”(Carrera de Terapia Física, 2019-08-01) Mena Toscano, Andrés Oswaldo; Latta Sánchez, María Augusta,Lcda. Mg.The march in the elderly with the passing of the years is decreasing noticeably, which is why this research project is part of the macro project "INFLUENCE OF TRADITIONAL USE OF CHUMBI IN THE TRADITIONAL MUSCLE DISORDERS ASSOCIATED WITH THE MANIPULATION OF CHARGES IN THE WOMAN OF THE ECUADORIAN SIERRA". In this way, it has been considered convenient to carry out the micro research aimed at analyzing the progress of the older indigenous adults in the high communities of Quisapincha, Ambato canton, Tungurahua province, so that it can be known that there is significant physical deterioration in the older indigenous adults. In the present investigation a descriptive, quantitative and observational study method was used that included 30 older adults between 70 and 93 years of age, selected from the communities of Putugleo, Calhuasig Chico and Illahua Chico of the parish mentioned above, as an instrument for data collection was used the Tinetti Test which revealed that the great majority of people evaluated go through a general wear in the muscle-skeletal system leading to difficulties inherent to aging and therefore modification in the gait.Item “Sindrome de distres respiratorio primario en el adulto a consecuencia de neumonia adquirida en la comunidad”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato - Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud - Carrera de Terapia Física, 2017-11-01) Quispe Gualpa, Amparo de las Mercedes; Cedeño Zamora, María Narciza Lcda. Msc.The present clinical case analysis was carried out in a 51-year-old female patient in October of 2013. She presented respiratory distress, cough, expectoration with fever, asthenia, arthritis, and arthritis. She went to a doctor where she was given medication specifies, without improvement, after 15 days, visits the Yerovi Mackuar Hospital for the emergency service due to the persistence of the symptoms where he receives medication, being discharged to his home at three hours, after 72 hours to a private clinic due to the intensification of symptoms where a chest x-ray is performed, the patient's clinical condition is transferred to the Yerovi Mackuar Hospital, where physical evaluation and complementary examinations are performed, diagnosing severe pneumonia, for which she is prescribed oxygen therapy, the Hospital already mentioned above does not have the proper equipment so it att transferred urgently to Ambato Teaching Hospital where he was finally attended to and diagnosed with severe community acquired pneumonia, primary respiratory distress syndrome in the adult, acute pulmonary edema, chronic anemic syndrome, pulmonary septic shock. The patient spent two months hospitalized receiving clinical treatment, to which she was referred to physiotherapy, after going a couple of sessions patient leaves the treatment for work and economic reasons. Currently the patient has respiratory distres, is under pharmacological treatment, to help a greater recovery of the patient has been proposed a physiotherapeutic treatment, based on exercises that help to gain greater lung expansion, which will improve their quality of life.
