(2025-06-17) Sanmartin Rodriguez Karina Beatriz; Herrera López José Luis; Universidad Técnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Carrera de Enfermería
Nursing is a profession dedicated to the care, attention and promotion of the integral health of the family, so it is considered that the health professional should manage the level of stress from their academic training and clinical practices, so that in the future they know how to deal with various emergency situations and learn to reduce the stress caused by the workload. The general objective of this research was to identify the factors that influence the performance of clinical practices in nursing students at the Technical University of Ambato. The research study had a quantitative approach, nonexperimental design, descriptive scope and cross-sectional cohort, for which 213 students were surveyed during the period May 2024 – September 2024, who perform their clinical practices and who were legally enrolled in the Nursing Career of the Technical University of Ambato. From the findings it is necessary to identify that “lack of competence”, “contact with suffering”, “helplessness and uncertainty”, “not controlling the relationship with the patient”, “harming oneself in the relationship with the patient”, “the patient seeks an affective relationship” and “overload” presented a mean >1.50 which corresponds to mild stress.

CUIDADOS PALIATIVOS PEDIÁTRICOS SEGÚN EL MODELO DE MARJORY GORDON: REVISIÓN SISTEMÁTICA
(2025-06-17) Vilca Ruiz Joselyn Mayerli; Fernández Nieto Miriam Ivonne; Universidad Técnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Carrera de Enfermería
Introduction: The main objective of pediatric palliative care is to improve the quality of life of children and their families by alleviating the physical, emotional, social and spiritual suffering associated with serious illness. In order to provide adequate care, nursing staff must perform a first-line assessment that is appropriate, and this is what the theorist Marjory Gordon proposes, which she offers to assess with the eleven functional patterns. Objective: To analyze the studies carried out on pediatric palliative care according to Marjory Gordon's model. Methodology: This is a qualitative, retrospective research, through a systematic review using the documentary technique to collect information in different scientific databases such as Google Scholar, Pub Med, Scielo and Dialnet. In addition, Boolean operators such as "AND", "OR" and "NOT" were used, and the PRISMA statement (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) was used to obtain information. Results: 103 articles were located, which were discarded due to their similarity. We were left with 54 documents, of which 5 met the inclusion criteria, which were articles in English and Spanish, published from 2020 to 2024. The studies mentioned that functional patterns are used for care in clinical practice. Conclusion: Studies showed that nursing theories in palliative practice highlight Jean Watson's Theory of Humanized Care, which allows for interventions that are tailored to the needs of the pediatric patient and family.

PROFILAXIS DEL TROMBOEMBOLISMO VENOSO EN LA UNIDAD DE CUIDADOS INTENSIVOS-ESTRATEGIAS ACTUALES Y PERSPECTIVAS FUTURAS: REVISIÓN SISTEMÁTICA
(2025-06-17) Chicaiza Chisag, Bryan Iván; Quenorán Almeida, Verónica Sofia; Universidad Técnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Carrera de Enfermería
Introduction: Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) represents one of the main risks for patients in Intensive Care Units (ICU). The systematic implementation of prophylactic measures significantly reduces morbidity and mortality rates due to this preventable complication. The nursing professional plays a crucial role in the prevention of VTE by planning and executing interventions to reduce this event. Method: Systematic review based on the PRISMA method, using databases such as: PubMed, Elsevier, Cochrane Library in English, Spanish and Portuguese between the years 2018-2024. Results: Adherence to protocols can face several challenges in clinical practice. These challenges include the high workload of nursing staff, variability in team training and experience, and resistance to change in the implementation of new practices. Addressing these barriers is crucial to ensure effective prevention and improve outcomes in critically ill patients. Conclusion: Despite the variability in the quality of the evidence, the need for additional research on the role of combined modalities is emphasized, particularly in subgroups with different levels of patient risk and the impact of nursing staff management. Future study approaches should be successful in providing clinicians with stronger evidence to make more informed decisions based on the individuality of each patient.

(2025-06-17) Moreta Puca, Luis Fernando; Manzano Quisimalin, Devora Estefanía; Universidad Técnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Carrera de Enfermería
Satisfaction can be defined as the difference that exists between the expectations presented by the patient with the perception or care they truly received. This concept is highly complex since it is directly related to a number of factors, including: experiences that has been previously received, expectations, lifestyle, socioeconomic level and very important values, the health system focuses exclusively on user satisfaction since it is an indication of comfort, permanence, control and implies greater demand for services. A bibliographic review is carried out where information was collected and a documentary technique was used, through scientific search engines available on the web, such as articles and publications of a scientific nature that correspond to databases such as: Scielo, PubMed, ScienceDirect, ResearchGate. Allowing an answer to the research question: What are the factors that influence patient satisfaction with nursing care? The PRISMA 2020 methodology was used for literature reviews. Finally, it was shown that in more developed countries, adequate infrastructure, sufficient personnel; They have a better perception by patients of the care provided, while developing countries, which do not have adequate infrastructure or sufficient personnel, obtain a lower rating with the degree of care.

(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2024-10-03) Quispe Jiménez, Gloria Estefanía; Chipantiza Córdova, Tannia Elizabeth
Leadership is one of the key elements to achieve equitable, humane and efficient nursing care models. Under this context, this research was developed with the objective of determining the type of leadership exercised by nursing staff in the hospital area of the Nuestra Señora de la Merced Municipal Hospital, this with the purpose of diagnosing leadership actions that could contribute or in turn harm performance and job satisfaction in the institution, for this purpose a quantitative, correlational, observational and transversal design methodology was used, which included to a total of 19 nursing professionals with different academic achievements and a minimum professional experience of 3 years. The Blake and Mouton Leadership Styles Test was used as a data collection tool, which was applied virtually. According to the research findings, most of the staff perceive that there is a team leader and to a lesser extent authoritarianism is appreciated, a situation that is highly significant because it shows that the nursing leader maintains a balance between the development of specific tasks at the healthcare level and interpersonal relationships with other professionals in the institution.
