Currently, this type of industry produces products derived from all types of fibers, such as polyester wool, silk and nylon. This research project aims to analyze the factors of innovation in the textile sector of the province of Tungurahua, in order to investigate the obstacles that exist, in the innovation of the companies The results obtained suggest that innovation is a fairly incipient element within the textile sector, that there is ignorance of economic and non-economic programs to support innovation, and that intellectual property protection is not of interest to entrepreneurs. of the textile sector. In this respect, it is concluded that there is an aspect of the regional and sectorial system of innovation that requires attention from those who formulate and design the policies of the National Innovation System, in order to improve and increase the innovative activity within the productive sectors, particularly in the textile sector.
