Item Entrenamiento Respiratorio y sus efectos en el índice Bodex en pacientes con Enfermedad Pulmonar Obstructiva Crónica(2025-03-17) Carvajal Escobar, María Belén; Sandoval Velásquez, Gloria Gabriela; Universidad Técnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Centro de PosgradosRespiratory training has emerged as a crucial strategy in the management of chronic respiratory diseases, especially in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This therapeutic approach aims to optimize lung function and improve quality of life through specific breathing techniques and physical exercise. The effectiveness of respiratory training can be evaluated using the BODE index, a comprehensive tool that measures the severity of COPD and its impact on patient health. Given the details outlined above, respiratory training can positively influence the components of the BODE index, providing a clear understanding of its benefits and its role in the treatment of COPD. Objective: To determine the impact of respiratory training on the BODE index in patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Methods: To comprehensively evaluate the status of COPD, the BODE index was used. Lung function was measured using spirometry, while PImax was used to assess the strength of the inspiratory muscles and the elastic recoil of the lung tissue. Additionally, BMI was calculated considering the height and weight of each patient. Various scales, such as the mMRC, were used to assess dyspnea, and vital signs were monitored both at the beginning and at the end of respiratory training. Results: Respiratory training can lead to an improvement in the BODE index, with reductions in dyspnea symptoms and increased functional capacity. Patients showed an improvement in quality of life, a greater ability to perform daily activities, and a decrease in COPD exacerbations. Conclusions: Respiratory training represents an effective intervention for improving the BODE index and, consequently, the quality of life in patients with COPD. The implementation of respiratory training programs should be considered as an integral part of the management of COPD, with the aim of improving lung function, reducing dyspnea, and enhancing exercise capacity, contributing to better overall health and well-being of patients.Item Programa de entrenamiento muscular inspiratorio en el club de adultos mayores del cantón Patate(Universdidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Centro de posgrados, 2022-02-01) Robayo Jácome, Alejandra Estefanía; Robalino Morales, Gabriela Estefanía Lcda Magister,Pulmonary rehabilitation is a widely used protocol in different population groups, also including older adults. With these people, aging creates generalized muscle deficit, as well as respiratory muscle involvement. Thus, inspiratory muscle training is the treatment of choice for a significant improvement in inspiratory muscle strength and endurance, exercise tolerance, functionality and independence in activities of daily living, and better psychosocial development. The aim of this research has been to design a training program based on the scientific evidence which supports its validity and that turns it into applicable for clinical practice, promoting a high degree of reliability under a prior review by experts. The early establishment of this type of treatment model in older adults may prevent adverse results associated with the loss of respiratory muscle mass which trigger future hospitalizations in future years, thus protecting the integrity of their health.Item Programa de rehabilitación pulmonar en pacientes en aislamiento hospitalario con covid-19(Universdidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Centro de posgrados, 2022-02-01) Jordán Lescano, Cristina Elizabeth Lcda., Ft.; Ortiz Villalba, Paola Gabriela Lcda. Ft. Mg.Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by the SARS CoV-2 virus is characterized by causing lung damage and multisystem failures. Several of the infected people required in-hospital care and pulmonary rehabilitation, which was of great importance in the acute stage to prevent future deterioration and dysfunctions in the patient, the primary objectives of the rehabilitation program are: to improve dyspnea, fatigue, severe muscle weakness, in order to restore functional independence. For this, it was necessary to search by means of a review of scientific information. Based on these investigations, a pulmonary rehabilitation program was designed in patients in hospital isolation with covid -19, which was reviewed and validated by 5 experts on the subject. carried out a satisfaction questionnaire to 12 health professionals from the physiotherapy area of the Ambato General Teaching Hospital. The validation of the program was carried out through the judgment of experts and the content validation calculation of 15 items, a CVCi greater than 0.90 was obtained in 14 items; excellent agreement between experts, in a single item CVCi 0.88; good concordance between experts, at a general CVCt level was 0.95, indicating an excellent level of concordance between experts and allowed the socialization of the program. Regarding the level of satisfaction of the 12 professionals, it scores between 4 and 5 corresponding to partially and totally satisfied. In this way, it can be indicated that the program can be used in daily practice. PhDThe current situation in the world about the pandemic, it forces to the entire health department to do the appropriate training in order to be able to attend and solve the consequences on people from the pandemic. Due to the importance of having proper personal well trained, it is necessary to educate all the new students, who get involved with all the responsibilities of the hospital, and are about to complete their degree from the University National of Chimborazo faculty of Physical Therapy and Sportsmanship. In regards to training, it is elaborated as an educational purpose which is involved at full at the pedagogy development. Despite of the method of training - online or in class - the final result will indicate the facts and values to be easily applied as part of this educational training. As part of the training, students assimilated, interpreted and applied all the lesson learned related to the symptoms of COVID-19. It is recommend to mandate this type of training to all the Universities in Ecuador that currently have a physical therapy program.
