Maestría en Diseño Mecánico, 2016) Cruz Villacís, Juan Serafín; Castro Miniguano, Christian ByronThe present research work focuses on the topic, “Study of the die-cutting process and its influence in footwear production, in the province of Tungurahua”. The methodology used is a bibliographical study with functional tests which are the fundamental basis for the analysis and interpretation of the results. The results obtained were satisfactory, as the surveys carried out showed that the die cutting process influences the manufacture of footwear in the province of Tungurahua. Since a high percentage of companies do not use a high tech manufacturing method. The present research also proposed the design of an automatic and economic diecutting machines which would satisfy the necessity of the micro-entrepreneurs allowing them to be more competitive. The design of the machine includes a predictive maintenance plan based on the Weibull method which provides a wide reliability of the system and allows to open research areas.
