Item Ejercicios intermitentes moderados y su relación con la presión arterial en pacientes adultos mayores institucionalizados(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Fisioterapia, 2024-03-18) Freire Núñez, Jennifer Pamela; Reales Chacón, Lisbeth JosefinaThe general objective was to analyze the defects of moderate intermittent exercises in older and institutionalized adults and their relationship with blood pressure. It is a research with a quantitative analytical longitudinal and observational approach that evaluated the effect of intermittent exercises on blood pressure values over time. A total of 29 older adults were analyzed to whom moderate intermittent exercises were applied for 4 weeks, 3 times a week for 30 minutes each session, with a total of 12 interventions. The results showed that there is an inverse correlation between blood pressure and moderate intermittent exercises in older adults, which indicates that the longer the exercises are applied, the lower the blood pressure value will be. In conclusion, moderate intermittent exercise is an optimal protocol to reduce blood pressure in older adults, being a valid tool for blood pressure managem ent.
