Ltda.(2025-07) Salinas Gonzalez Kevin Giovanni; Tigre Ortega Franklin Geovanny; Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de Ingeniería IndustrialThis project presents an improvement in the extrusion process of Avipaz Cía. Ltda., a company dedicated to the production of extruded food. Deficiencies in productivity and quality were identified, especially in the product Dogy Adult 30kg, derived from waste such as waiting, incorrect processing and defects. Through time analysis, flowcharts and value chain mapping (VSM), it was determined that the current cycle time is 211.29 minutes, with the bagging area being the main bottleneck. Based on the weighted factor method, specific Lean Manufacturing tools were selected: SMED to reduce setup times, 5S to improve work order and standardization, Jidoka to stop the process in case of defects, and TPM for efficient equipment maintenance. The theoretical implementation of these tools reduced the cycle time to 166.93 minutes, reducing the total process time by 21% and improving responsiveness to demand. Concrete proposals were developed, such as cleaning manuals, signage, preventive maintenance and compliance records, consolidating a culture of continuous improvement. The new VSM showed an alignment of the process to the takt time, guaranteeing efficiency in the company's production. In conclusion, the proposed application of Lean tools made it possible to optimize the extrusion process performance, increase production and improve the quality of the product.Item Modelo lean manufacturing para la eliminación de desperdicios en la empresa Curtiembre Aldas(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial, 2025-02) Peñafiel Ibarra Juan Carlos; Ortiz Guerrero Daysi MargaritaThis project presents a proposal for implementing Lean Manufacturing methodology at Curtiembre Aldas, located in the Tungurahua province of Ecuador. The company specializes in transforming cattle hides into finished leather for footwear and clothing. The main focus of this proposal is to eliminate non-value-adding activities, targeting key wastes such as unnecessary movements, excessive transport, and waiting times. Through the use of Lean tools, these issues within the company were addressed effectively. The research suggests the application of the 5S methodology to improve workstations by introducing manuals and systems for order and cleanliness. This approach aims to minimize time lost searching for tools or cleaning equipment, resulting in a significant 35.6% improvement compared to the company’s initial performance. As part of the SMED methodology implementation proposal, internal activities were converted into external ones, effectively organizing the necessary tools and equipment at the workstations. This led to reduced machine changeover times: from 25.83 minutes to 15.11 minutes on the splitting machine, from 68.44 minutes to 46.54 minutes on the trimming machine, and from 31.42 minutes to 19.06 minutes on the fleshing machine. Following the implementation of both methodologies, noticeable improvements were achieved in the production processes of Curtiembre Aldas, particularly in the ribera area.Item Estudio de tiempos y movimientos para la mejora de la productividad en el proceso de producción de suelas para calzado en la empresa Preplast(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de Ingeniería Industrial, 2023-03) Yumbulema Yumbulema, Jaime Iván; Ortiz Guerrero, Daysi MargaritaThe unproductive times, non-standardized times, and unnecessary movements in the production area of the company has generated a low productivity and non-delivery to customers, so, this research project deals with a study of times and movements in the process of injection of shoe soles in the company PREPLAST to increase production levels. The research starts from the identification of the current situation in which the productive process of the company is located, collecting information on all its processes and facilities through direct observation and interview with the administrator and the production manager. Likewise, an analysis has been carried out with the sales histories of the last year provided by the administrative area, managing to identify that the Lili expanso chocolate 37 sole is the most demanded product, therefore, this model of sole was the object of study in the present research. Through the measurement of times by timing, development of flowchart, analytical diagram, synoptic diagram, man-machine diagram, route diagram, plant redistribution and application of the SMED methodology, it is possible to establish improvements in the productive process of the company. As a result of the present research, it has been possible to establish the standard time for each area that makes up the production process of the most demanded soles, and from the times and distances traveled, a redistribution of plant has been proposed in order to minimize the transportation costs carried out. Likewise, the preparation time of the injector has been reduced by applying the SMED methodology, increasing the number of soles produced in a working day.Item Estudio de tiempos y movimientos para la mejora de la producción en la empresa textil Ram Jeans(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería en Sistemas, Electrónica e Industrial. Carrera de Industrial, 2023-03) Alba Paredes, Bladimir Santiago; Tigre Ortega, Franklin GeovannyTime and motion study is a tool that, when implemented, provides benefits such as the reduction of execution times of the activities and the increase in production in the areas of industrial manufacturing, basis that characterizes this methodology is the elimination of waste and increase production, considering that into organizations problems occur frequently and activities flow tends to be interrupted, that’s why it is necessary to standardize and reduce waste generated. The textile company "Ram Jeans" that is dedicated to the industrial production of jean pants, saw fit to improve the deficiencies that it has regarding disorder, poor control of waste, times, waiting, interruptions, transportation and unnecessary movements that are restrictions for the productivity. This research project objective of proposing lean manufacturing tools and an improvement plan for company's production benefit, reducing waste, which after analysis was identified as: waiting, unnecessary transport and inventories. Collection of information with surveys application, interviews and the study of times as a first analysis, established the current productive situation, areas, threads, activities, resources, etc., later the diagrams and manufacturing tools helped to identify activities that restrict the flow of the process and the production capacity in the company. To recognize the waste of the manufacturing process, VSM map was applied, through this tool the information corresponding to the activities that add and those that do not add value was obtained, in addition, operational tools were applied to improve the performance of the company. SMED implemented the reduction of times regarding waiting and unnecessary transport, 5S methodology maintained order and cleanliness of the workstations. Reduction of times in clothing area had a decrease from 7.1 minutes to 5.03 minutes, which is equivalent to an improvement of 29.15%, in addition, its production capacity increased from 1,248 u/month to a production of 1,440 u/month, equivalent to an improvement of 13.33% complying with the proposal to improve production.Item Manufactura esbelta en el proceso de extrusión de alimentos para mascotas de la empresa Bioalimentar Cía.
