Item Nivel de conocimiento sobre el tamizaje auditivo neonatal de los estudiantes universitarios(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-29) Paucar Valle, Luis Fernando; Chisag Guamán, María MarleneHearing screening is a non-invasive audiological test that consists of detecting problems in sound perception or hearing loss between 48 hours after birth and 6 months of age. The objective of this research was to identify the level of knowledge about neonatal hearing screening of university students. The study had a quantitative, descriptive, non-experimental cross-sectional approach applied to 177 nursing students from the Technical University of Ambato, using a questionnaire designed and validated with a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.9, guaranteeing the reliability of the instrument. Knowledge about the definition of Neonatal Hearing Screening is framed in 76.3%, Diseases that it detects 71.2%, Risk factors 70%, Neonatal Hearing Screening Techniques 66.7%, Complementary exams 67.8%, Signs alarm 50.8%. 50% of the population has theoretical knowledge that must be executed through pre-professional practices with the purpose of expanding their knowledge and improving their skills. Therefore, it is considered relevant to implement continuous training programs to strengthen the teaching-learning process in the academic training process of nursing students.Item Nivel de conocimiento de los estudiantes de enfermería sobre el triaje en el área de emergencia(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-29) Salguero Pérez, Martha Estefanía; Fernández Nieto, Miriam IvonneTriage is a tool used by health professionals that allows classifying the degree of urgency according to the symptoms present, in order to reduce the demand for patients in the emergency area and guarantee effective and adequate care, therefore, it is necessary that health personnel have scientific foundations prior to the management of this area. Objective: Analyze the level of knowledge of Nursing students about Triage in the Emergency area. Methodology: This research is a cross-sectional study, with a quantitative approach; and, it is based on the data collection through the scale of level of knowledge in the management of Triage in the nursing staff (NICMATRIPE), 120 students of the nursing career of the Technical University of Ambato participated in the study. Results: Within the findings found during the investigation we have that 38% of the students fully agree, that is, they know the definition of triage in a significant way, 24% agree, 16% do not even Conclusions: Nursing students from the Technical University of Ambato have adequate knowledge of the emergency service triage process, which contributes to providing efficient patient care in terms of demand and clinical needs at home. of health.Item Conocimiento de la automedicación con antibióticos en adultos(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-29) Vásquez De La Bandera Zambrano, Karla Rafaela; Arráiz de Fernández, CarolinaIntroduction: In the quest to achieve wellness, people have resorted to self-care practices that can be harmful, the World Health Organization (WHO) defines selfmedication as the freedom of individuals to consume over-the-counter medications without a prescription, for self-identified symptoms. Objective: to determine the knowledge of self-medication with antibiotics in adults. Methods: this study is quantitative and descriptive in scope. The sample consisted of 136 adults over 20 years of age who met the inclusion criteria. The questionnaire "Level of knowledge about self-medication with antibiotics in adults" was used for data collection, with validity and a Cronbach's alpha of 0.616 considered acceptable. Results: 54.4% were female, 34.6% were housewives, 35.3% had secondary education, and 40.4% were between 31 and 50 years of age. The 64.0% of participants have self-medicated with antibiotics during the last year and the level of knowledge found is low with 44.1%. Conclusion: the level of knowledge about self-medication with antibiotics is low. The main cause is lack of information and lack of knowledge added to the fact that they are easily accessible and are used to treat symptoms that do not require their use. It is important to focus on education and create regulatory policies for access and dispensing of these drugs to reduce their unnecessary use.Item Conocimientos nutricionales de los estudiantes de enfermería y los hábitos alimenticios(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-28) Ninasunta Toapanta, Daisy Tatiana; Chipantiza Córdova, Tannia ElizabethThe habit of eating is related to factors: cultural, social and educational, hence the knowledge about nutrition can influence how we eat and our nutritional status. The objective of the research is to establish the nutritional knowledge and the relationship with the eating habits of nursing students. For this, an observational, cross-sectional study was carried out, stratified with a quantitative approach, obtaining a probabilistic sample of 285 individuals who underwent two surveys, the first related to nutritional knowledge and the second to know their habits regarding food. In the statistical analysis of the knowledge survey, an average level was obtained in nutritional habits in 69.9%, on nutritional status in 52.78%, nutrient content of food in 61.4% and on related health alterations. to food considered 69.8% as medium level. In eating habits, only 25% eat three meals a day, 50% eat breakfast only once a week and 33% eat lunch once a week. 60% consume only 2 servings of fruits and vegetables 3 to 4 times a week. Water consumption is adequate only in 20.4%. 63.4% consume foods rich in sugar and fat 1 to 2 times a week. In conclusion, this shows that 58% of students do not apply the knowledge they have about nutrition in their eating habits because they eat outside the home.Item Percepción y conocimiento de los internos rotativos sobre el formato Soapier en el registro enfermero(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-28) Moya Constante, Michelle Lizbeth; López Pérez, Grace PamelaBackground: The use of SOAPIER data registers is part of the problem-oriented medical record data system, that explains the difficulties of patients. Objective: To determine the perception and knowledge of rotating interns about the SOAPIER data in the nursing register. Methods: Quantitative and descriptive approach, structured by 107 rotating interns who work in 4 hospitals in the zone 3 of Ecuador. The data collection done through the application of a survey that consisted of two dimensions, the first called perception structured by 6 items and the second knowledge that consist of 4 items, the consistency of the instrument is trough Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient which value was of 0.815. Results: Concerning the perception dimension, for 92.59% of rotating interns, the application of the SOAPIER data register is useful; for 74.07%, this registry permitted to emphasize on the interventions and evaluations performed in nursing; In addition, 51.85% consider it as a satisfactory tool. On the other hand, in the knowledge dimension, 51.9% of nursing interns have information about the SOAPIER format, its applicable, effective and unique; Conclusions: The SOAPIER format is described by being an significant instrument for the growth of rotating nursing interns, allowing the information to be consider in a logical, organized and ethical order, thus making it possible to provide quality healthcare.Item Estrategias educativas en la promoción de la lactancia materna en madres primerizas(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-28) Masapanta Andrade, Joselyn Estefanía; Alvear Arévalo, Martha LorenaBackground: Breastfeeding plays an essential and irreplaceable role in child nutrition, which is why interventions that promote and protect this practice are currently being sought. Objective: to raise the level of knowledge and promotion of breastfeeding in new mothers through educational strategies. Methods: An applied research, educational intervention type, quasi-experimental, descriptive, cross-sectional was carried out during the months of February and March 2023 with a group of 45 mothers. As collection instruments, a questionnaire on knowledge about breastfeeding was used, which through 14 questions classifies knowledge as good, regular and bad. Results: Before the educational intervention, the level of general knowledge of the first-time mothers was regular in 60%, the level of knowledge regarding the importance of breastfeeding was adequate in 57.77% and regarding breastfeeding techniques it was of 45.92%. After the intervention, the level of general knowledge was good at 100%, regarding the importance of breastfeeding the level of knowledge reached was 93% and regarding breastfeeding techniques, 90.93%. Conclusions: The educational strategies for the promotion of breastfeeding applied in the present study were effective, because the mothers went from a regular level of knowledge to a good one, which is significant and beneficial for the effective feeding of the newborn.Item Conocimiento del riesgo obstétrico en mujeres embarazadas de la parroquia Izamba(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-28) Herrera Ordoñez, Alexandra Valeria; Cusme Torres, Nadihezka AmandaCurrently, maternal health continues to be a problem in several countries and due to the prevalence of maternal-fetal mortality in Ecuador, it is important to know the obstetric risks in pregnant women. To determine the knowledge of obstetric risk in pregnant women in Izamba parish. This study was developed under a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional, field study methodology with a simple random sample, whose population consisted of 20 pregnant women over 18 years of age to whom a structured survey with 11 questions was applied. 100% stated that the consumption of drugs and tobacco constitutes an obstetric risk factor for the health of the mother and the baby. According to 60%, blood pressure is also a risk factor; 65% indicated that ovarian cysts are not a gestational risk factor. Regarding diabetes mellitus and renal diseases as obstetric risk factors, the percentage of knowledge is 75% for each. Finally, 100% have stated that bleeding; uterine contractions prior to the delivery date; and pain when urinating, discomfort or blood in urine are alarm signs during the gestational stage. Through this study we have determined the importance of the knowledge that pregnant women have about obstetric risk factors during gestation, since habits, preexisting pathologies or alarm signs can cause physical discomfort to the mother such as anemia, fatigue, tachycardia, spontaneous abortions and in extreme cases mortality; while the baby can be born with low birth weight, intrauterine death, premature births, among others.Item Conocimiento sobre el virus del papiloma humano en estudiantes mujeres de la Carrera de Enfermería(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-28) Guashco Toalombo, Beatriz Hortencia; Jiménez Peralta, Ana LucíaThe knowledge of nursing students during their professional training about the human papillomavirus (HPV) is paramount because of its impact on public health and the role nursing plays in education and prevention. The knowledge of nursing students during their professional training about human papillomavirus is essential because of the impact on public health and the role that nursing plays in education and prevention, young people being a risk group when they omit preventive measures in consequences can acquire HPV. With the objective of determining the knowledge about the human papillomavirus in female students of the Nursing career from the Technical University of Ambato. A non-experimental descriptive quantitative approach study was carried out, with a convenience sampling of 222 students. The information was collected through an 18- question questionnaire validated by experts, with a Cronbach's alpha of 0.89. The results show that 59.0% of the students surveyed are not sexually active and 41.0% are sexually active; in addition, most of them know about transmission routes, risk factors and prevention, 49.5% do not have any doses of the vaccine and 72.5% stated that they have not had a Pap smear test. In conclusion, it is shown that the knowledge of the students is high, however, it is important to sensitize the student about preventive methods such as the vaccine and the Pap test.Item Nivel de conocimiento y actitud frente al examen de Papanicolau en estudiantes universitarias(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-28) Guaman Ashqui, Ibeth Selena; Analuisa Jiménez, Eulalia IsabelThe Papanicolaou test is essential to detect changes in the cervix and prevent cervical cancer, but despite this, the young population has not become aware of the importance of this test and has put aside its practice, either out of fear or ignorance. To determine the level of knowledge and attitude towards the Papanicolaou exam in university students. The research is qualitativequantitative, with a descriptive observational design, for the sampling the cluster sampling was used and later the simple finitesampling formula was applied, in addition as data collection instruments a questionnaire of interviews and surveys was constructed. It can be mentioned that the knowledge level variable is not associated with the practice frequency variable. It is established that adequate knowledge about the test, but little practice of it is due to factors such as ignorance, fear and shame on the part of the personnel who perform the test, so it is necessary to raise awareness about the importance of the test.Item Nivel de conocimientos de RCP básico en estudiantes de enfermería de séptimo semestre(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-09-28) Gavilánez Pérez, Bryan David; Chipantiza Córdova, Tannia ElizabethDefine the level of knowledge of basic CPR in students of the seventh semester of the nursing career; indicate the degree of wisdom in general definitions, identify the most used methodology for theoretical-practical learning and establish the relationship between the learning method and the level of knowledge of basic CPR. Quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive research. Applied by census to nursing students with a finite population of 92 participants. The instrument is approved by experts and is known as: "Level of know ledge of basic CPR and the methodology used in nursing students", with a Cronbach's Alpha coefficient of 0.91. Nursing students in the seventh semester present an intermediate level of knowledge related to basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation represented by 46%. The most used learning methodology was through slides with 48%. The most used learning tool was Zoom with 48%. 70% of the students state that the first obstacle they had was the virtual modality. The most used learning methodology for theoretical knowledge and execution of hospital practices was through slides in virtual mode due to the COVID -19 pandemic and the use of virtual tools that constituted the main obstacle in the knowledge of: CPR definitions, activation and recognition of the emergency service, quality of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and transfer. The same modality was applied for the execution of practices since only 26% accessed the simulation laboratories.
