    Análisis del coeficiente de fricción e índice de inflamabilidad de un material compuesto a partir de matriz elastomérica de látex reforzado con gránulo de caucho reciclado

    The present experimental work aims to analyze the coefficient of friction (static and dynamic) and flammability index of a composite material made from elastomeric latex matrix reinforced with recycled rubber granule. Composite specimens with volumetric composition of 60 percent Synthetic latex and 40 percent Recycled rubber granule (particle size of 0.841 mm) were made, and simple material specimens with 100 percent synthetic latex configuration were also made. In addition, aluminum molds were manufactured with the purpose of facilitating the vulcanization process required by the samples. Friction tests (Use Guide for English XL Variable Incidence Tribometer) and flammability were performed under regulations (ISO 3795). Friction tests were carried out on the two materials on three types of surfaces under dry and wet conditions, the values were taken in the 4 directions (north, south, east, west). As a result, the factor with the highest incidence on the value of static and dynamic friction coefficients is the “Condition”. In the case of the “Material” factor, the coefficients of friction of greater value were for the material with a 100 percent synthetic latex composition. While in the "Surface" factor the wood type obtained higher values compared to the other two. On the other hand, it was determined that the “Orientation” factor has no impact on the measurement of friction coefficients. Finally, material flammability tests were performed, for the composite material the burn rate had a value of 9.23 mm / min. While, for the simple material the burn rate was 7.94 mm / min.

    This investigation work is about analyzing the mechanic characteristics of different configurations of a compound material of elastomeric matrix of reinforced latex with granule of recycled rubber, with the purpose of obtaining a material with optimum mechanic characteristics to elaborate floors. It was generated different configurations of compound material, varying the size of the reinforcement and the volumetric composition of matrix and reinforcement. It was elaborated the standard samples, mixing the material according to the configurations and placing it in aluminum molds which help up to the vulcanization process of the samples. It was conducted the required tests for the mechanic characterization, which are: traction (NTE INEN 1165), compression (NTE INEN 889) and hardness (NTE INEN 887). The results because of the tests are tabulated, averaged, charted and compared. With the corresponding analysis it was determined that the material with the optimum mechanic characteristics for the elaboration of floors is the A3 type which owns a granule size of 0-0,841mm o Tamiz #20 and a volumetric composition of 60% matrix (latex) and 40% reinforcement (recycled granule of rubber). To this material will carry out a test of flammability (ASTM D635 -14) to know its characteristics in case of fire.
