The study of the coatings in carbon steel A-36, and its incidence in the corrosion rate using the chamber of salt spray, for which three types of organic coatings were chosen, and their anticorrosive behavior was studied. In addition to this, the effect of the initial cleaning rates prior to the application of the coatings was studied. The test was performed according to ASTM B117, which establishes the parameters necessary to perform the accelerated corrosion test in a salt spray chamber, in addition to the necessary laboratory controls that prove the test. The corrosion rate was calculated according to ASTM G1, and the coatings will be purchased to establish which is the best protection. Additionally, the degree of corrosion of the coatings was established by visual inspection according to ASTM D610. The best corrosion protection methods for A-36 carbon steel were established
