The present work arises from the need to validate processes of execution of corrosion tests in the salt fog chamber for characterization of samples in shape, sizing and a population that allows easy analysis of the specimens once the test is completed. Regarding the industrial field, the behavior of steel with 18 different processes is analyzed to evaluate the procedure less vulnerable to the values of corrosion rate. Under the ASTM B117 Standard, the test was executed, where it details the parameters to be codified and controlled during the 120 hours of analysis time. By means of the ASTM D610 Standard the degree of corrosion of the samples was determined. Standard G1 details the process of calculating the corrosion rate, for the post comparison using the values obtained. Of the 18 processes established in the study we have three processes with corrosion rate equal to 0 (zero), such as M13B that corresponds to a joint welded with the electrode E6013, with manual initial cleaning (sandpaper) and coated by broaching, M18B which corresponds to a joint welded with the electrode E7018, with initial manual cleaning (sandpaper) and coated by broaching and G18B corresponding to a joint welded with the electrode E7018, with initial mechanical cleaning (pleasant) and coated by broaching. The processes are less vulnerable to the corrosion process.
