Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2017) Mayorga Chávez, Richard Gustavo; Paredes Salinas, Juan GilbertoAt present, the Ecuadorian Air Force has the capacity and the necessary technology for the creation and construction of unmanned airship called UAV, so the following study was focused on determining the Quality of Painted Surfaces, for which were analyzed different types of paint such as; SHERWIN WILLIAMS, VARNISH and GEL COATS. For the development of the investigation were made test pieces elaborated of composite material (carbon fiber + epoxy resin), analyzing factors of quality such as: Film Thickness, Weight, Adherence, Roughness and Accelerated Aging. The study was developed on the basis of international standards such as: ASTM D3359, ASTM G155 and SSPC-PA2. After the investigative process, it was found that the test pieces painted with EPOXIC GEL COAT had better surface quality compared to the other paints.
