Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2018) Carrera Ramos, Diego Salvador; López Villacís, Gonzalo EduardoThe experimental work was based on the study of the basic mechanical properties (ultimate tensile strength, yield strength, hardness, impact resistance) of aluminum alloy 1060 with magnesium in its different volumetric fractions, the approach of the study arises from the appearance of new materials that are used in the construction of mechanical elements that are part of vehicles and other means of transport, with properties equal or superior to those of traditional materials, being replaced by some of its advantages among which we have its reduced weight and low cost, the alloyed material was subjected to traction hardness and impact analysis obtaining the final results of each of the tests. For the execution of the tests the ASTM standards that regulate the execution of the tests were used, thus the following norms were used: (ASTM E8-00b, ASTM E10-01 Hardness, ASTM E23-01 Impact), this way they executed the analyzes and it was possible to establish the volumetric fraction that presented the best results. With the results obtained it was determined that the groups with the best mechanical characteristics are the Y1 group for tensile tests and the Y2 group for hardness and impact tests presenting the following average properties, ultimate tensile strength: 53.19 MPa, limit creep: 7.29 MPa, hardness: 41.98 HB, impact resistance: 1.12 J / cm2.
