The present technical project is based on the design, construction and functional tests of a LPG burner where information on types of burners, material characteristics was acquired, selecting the best alternative through weightings with criteria such as: cost, performance, characteristic of flame, ease of transfer and primary air with which the fuel-oxidizing mixture will be made. The main elements such as the fire cylinder, injectors and the structure that will support the cylinder and components were designed, as well as thermal insulators such as glass wool, ceramic fiber and alumina ceramic tube. In order to obtain temperature data in the fire cylinder, technological equipment was used such as: pyrometer, anemometer, thermal imager and LPG consumption meter, in addition to thermal calculations thermal expansion, combustion and losses caused by heat transfer were determined. With the use of a software, combined losses by convection and radiation were established in the Sankey diagram (5.7 porcent) , losses due to solid burns (6 percent), losses from the rear of the cylinder (7.6 percent) were established in the Sankey diagram) and unquantified losses (10 percent) obtaining a useful heat of 7.8 kWh and an efficiency of 70.7 percent of useful hot air flow. Finally, with the help of a software it was possible to analyze the shape and color of the burner flame reaching an optimum operating range with a blue flame length between 11.8 to 15.2 cm and a temperature of 487 degrees Celsius, showing the minimum presence of unburned which benefits the efficiency and calorific value of the LPG burner.
