Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2022-09) Alvarez Acosta, Joel Alexis; Quilligana Valle, Andrés Marcelo; Espín Guerrero, Víctor RodrigoIn this research, we experimented on the cutting parameters, such as: feed rate, amperage, gas pressure and preheating times, obtaining surface quality values in the materials used at industrial level, such is the case of ASTM A36 and AISI 304 steel, because the manuals or guides were limited to a range and not to a specific value for thermal cutting of elements. The study was developed in collaboration with the company MAQUINARIAS ESPÍN from the city of Ambato. To establish the number of specimens, the Taguchi method was used, which together with the statistical technique ANOVA allowed verifying the hypothesis based on the incidence of the cutting parameters within the oxy-fuel and CNC plasma processes. A tolerance analysis of perpendicularity and average profile height was performed on the specimens tested according to the AWS C4.6M:2006 standard, which contains acceptance ranges for the quality of the cut surface, and then evaluated in order to obtain the optimum oxyfuel and plasma parameters.
