Item Identificación de patógenos presentes en la pollinaza de uso agrícola(2025-08) Aucatoma Chisag, Liliana Jeaqueline; Pallo Paredes, Edwin LeonardoPoultry manure, a by-product of the poultry system, is widely used in agriculture as an organic fertilizer due to its high nutrient content; however, their improper use can represent a health and environmental risk. For this reason, the purpose of this research was to isolate and characterize the microorganisms present in fresh samples of manure used for agricultural purposes, collected in Tungurahua, Ecuador. The methodology used consisted of carrying out an experimental study using cultural techniques in selective media, microscopic observations and subsequent molecular analysis of DNA, as a result, the presence of a yeast with particular morphological characteristics was identified, which was molecularly confirmed as Pichia kudriavzevii by sequencing the ITS region, with 99.14 % identity. This species is recognized in clinical microbiology for its opportunistic pathogenic potential and natural resistance to antifungals. Although pathogenic bacteria such as Salmonella or Escherichia coli were not detected, the presence of this yeast implies potential risks to human health, especially in agricultural systems that handle manure without prior treatment. It's concluded that Pichia kudriavzevii can proliferate in favorable environmental conditions, which reinforces the need to apply thermal composting processes to guarantee the safety of the fertilizer
