Item OMEGA 3 Y SU RELACIÓN CON LA INFERTILIDAD FEMENINA(2025-06-18) Tiglla Chingo Katerin; Hidalgo Morales Kattyta Patricia; Universidad Técnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Carrera de Nutrición y DietéticaFemale infertility is considered a complex phenomenon, influenced by various individual and environmental factors, posing a global challenge. It is classified as primary, characterized by the absence of a previous conception, and secondary, following a successful pregnancy or previous conception. Factors such as constant exposure to pollutants and chemicals, current lifestyles, and delayed childbearing periods play a crucial role in its prevalence. In addition, pathological conditions are highlighted, with polycystic ovary syndrome, endometriosis, and uterine fibroids being significant in this context. Global health organizations estimate that one in six couples face difficulty conceiving. In this regard, the impact of omega-3 consumption on female infertility is being investigated, boosting oocyte quality and reducing inflammation; although the evidence is contradictory, underscoring the need for a deeper focus on assisted reproductive techniques (ART). Studies suggest that ovarian stimulation reduces spontaneous abortions and optimizes uterine conditions to improve embryo quality. Incorporating supplements that support these conditions could be essential in the management of female infertility.
