Mg, Mishelts VanessaComplementary feeding is introduced at six months of age, because the infant's energy needs increase and breast milk does not cover this energy requirement. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce foods according to age. To identify best practices and enhance areas to improve complementary feeding in infants, through this research we hope to contribute to the promotion of healthy and safe feeding practices for infants. A bibliographic review of the literature of the last five years in Spanish, English and Portuguese was carried out, using scientific databases such as sCielo, Redalyc, Scholar, Elsvier; taking as inclusion criteria original articles, bibliographic review, systemic review and observational studies. Early weaning can be a problem for child nutrition, since this can trigger malnutrition and anemia in infants, breastfeeding and adequate complementary feeding are crucial to prevent child malnutrition, there are several methods that promote the autonomy of children and stimulates their psychomotor development, promoting a good management of healthy habits
