    This thesis designs and assesses Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) integrated with the conventional sewer along Cerro Casigana–Av. Manuela Sáenz (Ambato, Ecuador) to reduce urban flooding. Using hydrologic analysis (Rational Method), thematic mapping, and NDVI-based indirect infiltration diagnostics, the study finds prevailing bare soil (55.82%) and sparse vegetation (28.07%), which increase runoff towards lower areas. A scenario comparison shows that SUDS + sewer (French drain, hydrodynamic separator, functional revegetation) reduces sewer inflow by ~30% (from 1.56 to 1.09 m³/s at I=60.50 mm/h), thus mitigating overflow risks and O&M loads. The integrated approach proves feasible and scalable for similar urban settings in Ambato; a phased implementation and performance monitoring are recommended.
