El Body Shaming y la Adaptación Social en estudiantes universitarios

The student dropout rate in universities and the low persistence rates, particularly in the first year of study, have led to questioning the various factors that influence the transition of students to this new context. As a result, it has been established that body shaming is an emerging factor in the adaptive process, which has not been adequately studied, especially for young university students. Therefore, the influence of body shaming on university adaptation was examined in order to serve as a starting point for the development of intervention strategies that facilitate a successful transition to professional life. The objective of this research was to examine the influence of body shaming on university adaptation through the development of a research instrument (questionnaire) that allowed for the evaluation of the interrelationship between the study variables. The analyzed sample consisted of 177 students from the Early Childhood Education program at the Universidad Técnica de Ambato. It was based on a mixed approach and two data collection instruments were used: a teacher interview related to social adaptation to the university environment and a questionnaire to explore students' perceptions of body shaming and its possible relationship with university adaptation. The main results reflect that within the factors of the adaptive process are social interaction, academic performance, integration into university life, sociocultural adaptation, and social support. The research instrument met the proposed objective and allowed for determining that young university students who experience body shaming perceive this phenomenon with anxiety, feelings of shame, low self-esteem, and anxiety related to body image. Therefore, the mentioned indicators can trigger disorders and limit the social adaptation of the university student. It significantly affects academic performance and social interaction, concluding that body shaming influences university adaptation. Social behavior and the use of digital devices in high school students in Ecuador is a topic of interest and relevance. Young people in this educational stage are increasingly immersed in the digital world, using cell phones and computers not only for entertainment, but also for communication and learning. Interaction with technology significantly influences patterns of social behavior, affecting everything from the way they relate to peers to how time and attention are managed. Devices offer numerous educational opportunities and social connection; In addition, they present challenges such as exposure to misinformation, cyberbullying, and technological dependency. Research identifies the need to understand how these elements interact and affect the development of the adolescent's personality and behaviors. The objective was to investigate this relationship through a quantitative approach, developing a structured survey and direct observation as data collection techniques. A descriptive and correlational design was worked on, focused on characterizing phenomena and establishing relationships between relationships between social networks and behavior. The data were taken from second and third year high school students from an Educational Unit Cotopaxi - Ecuador; At the same time, an exhaustive bibliographic review was carried out to theoretically contextualize the research and verify the student reality. Results reveal significant patterns of digital device use, highlighting how these affect social behavior and perception of the environment; In addition, a high dependence on digital devices, the Internet and social networks is evident. A correlation is identified between intensive device use and certain specific social behaviors. The importance of understanding the dynamics between the use of digital devices and the development of social behavior of adolescents is highlighted, underlining the need for educational and social strategies that promote responsible and balanced use of technology among high school students, formulating a protocol to support the study problem. The Digital Communication and journalistic coverage on digital platforms have had a very significant boom not only in Ecuador but also in Latino America and the world, whether in the sports, social and economic part, this is how they are driven to create various methods and strategies to reach any target audience within the different digital platforms , since not being present in them today is not an option. The research determined the importance of digital communication and journalistic coverage on the social networks of club Deportivo Macará, in order to improve and potentiate the contents with in the different digital channels of the club. The research has made clear the objectives both general and specific that have allowed to determine the importance of being present in digital social networks today, as do various sports teams around the world with criteria, responsibility and generating content according to the reality of the context in which the research was developed. The support of club Deportivo Macará was important in research since through its digital channel and its followers have obtained relevant and important data and information, supporting the improvement and potentiate institutional social networks, to afford alternatives and communication elements for development in each of the social networks used with in the club , the rise of Ecuadorian soccer in international turners allow the eyes of the world to pay attention to Ecuadorian soccer, and what a link more, than social networks to know the institutional, sports and human aspect of Club Deportivo Macará.
La Comunicación mediante el uso de la aplicaciones móviles de medicina en tiempos de pandemia

Mobile applications are portable tools that allow users to benefit from multiple services. In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, mobile technology was one of the protagonists in several areas of social life. Apps in the medical field made it possible for users to maintain sporting habits that enable them to cope with stress, and telemedicine services facilitated the resources for medical care to be provided if necessary, and with these options ensured social isolation. This study reflects on the importance and benefits of the use of mobile medical applications in times of pandemic from a communicative point of view. In this sense, the development of the research is feasible because the necessary theoretical background exists, in addition to having all the human and material resources to obtain results in this study. It is also important to point out that a mixed methodology (qualitative and quantitative) was used in this research, in order to expose technological, theoretical and methodological elements, considering also the application of a survey to obtain the necessary data for the analysis and evaluation of results to the students of the Communication degree of the Technical University of Ambato. The main results showed that mobile applications in times of pandemic were important elements for students in the medical area. This allows us to reflect on the role of technology today and its social importance. It also proposes social criticism on the importance of applying efficient communicative alternatives in technology so that the broadcasting of messages of collective interest can successfully reach the target audience.
El discurso ideológico-pedagógico en el cine de ficción. analogía entre la película “Contagio” de Steven Soderbergh (2011) y la pandemia del Covid–19

The Covid-19 pandemic has radically affected society's daily life, and the global health crisis has brought to the forefront situations that were thought to be distant and improbable. However, this type of events have been repeatedly treated in narratives, mainly in fiction films. For this reason, many people used movies with themes related to the virus and pandemic to understand what was going on around them and even to seek answers to those questions that science could not answer clearly. The objective of the research is to analyze science fiction cinema as an ideological pedagogical narrative in the face of health crises, for which the aim is to carry out an analysis of the filmic discourse from the perspective of communication, social sciences and cinema, linked to a qualitative approach where through the reflection of the film "Contagion" (2011) by Steven Soderberg, linked in an analogical way to the analysis of news in the context of the covid-19 pandemic in the United States, United Kingdom, Spain, Brazil and Ecuador, allows understanding how these discourses can influence society. It is concluded that fictional cinema, rather than rehearsing a spectacle of catastrophe and destruction scenarios and leaving open the arrival of the end of humanity, can help social criticism, understand with its narratives responses and decisions of the collective imaginary, reactions to similar scenarios and learn to understand the behavior of people in different social contexts.
La educación virtual y las herramientas comunicativas adoptadas por los docentes para la enseñanza durante la pandemia en el cantón Salcedo

The present research work analyzes the fundamental role played by communicative tools within the educational processes, the protagonism generated based on the existing need to prevent students from stagnating in their educational levels, as a result of the health emergency generated by covid-19. The role played by these strategies to be channels that allow teachers to transfer knowledge to their receivers, in this case the students, is one of the aspects investigated in this thesis. In order to carry out this project, the Salcedo National School in the province of Cotopaxi was chosen as the field of research. This school was chosen in order to analyze the reality of the educational process experienced by the students during the two years of the pandemic. Thus, the different tools and strategies that were providedby the teachers to continue with the academic period have been analyzed. The importance of technology during the pandemic is also analyzed, being thefundamental axis and the medium where education moved to, adapting to the time thatpassed at that time and providing the facilities so that both teachers and students can recreate an environment similar to the one that took place in the classroom, but now from their respective comfort zones. In order to obtain more real data, a quantitative approach was applied in this researchwork, where statistical information was obtained that led to know the experiences thatthe students had in that period of online study
Esquema piramidal un modelo distópico: análisis del discurso de representaciones sociales a través de Facebook.

ABSTRACT The research shows a deep analysis of the communication strategies and identifies the discourse of social representations used by the leaders of pyramid scheme companies to recruit members and commit various crimes that leave the associates immersed in a dystopian world. The research proposes a detailed analysis of the leaders, the process of recruiting members and the power of social networks. With the rise of digital platforms also increased the risks of being victims of scams or other computer crimes that affect people who are attracted by tempting offers end up trusting in this type of illicit business which are not regulated in the virtual world. Pyramid scheme companies advertise through social networks with the sole purpose of committing various crimes and harming participants economically and psychologically. By means of a descriptive qualitative approach, the analytical-synthetic methods were combined, using techniques such as direct observation and the study of three real cases of pyramid companies that occurred chronologically at macro, meso and micro levels. The study was carried out by means of observation cards to analyze at the macro level the company “UNO” dating from 1920 in the United States; at the meso level, the company “DOS” created in 2017 in Ecuador; finally, at the micro level the company “TRES” founded in 2020 in the city of Ambato. As a result, the power of social networks to cause irreparable damage is confirmed, but it is also determined that they are currently used to dismantle criminal organizations that seek to exercise ideological control and violate the rights of affiliates.

Muchas de las actividades se generan en la actualidad con el apoyo de las Nuevas Tecnologías, y es por ello que al hablar sobre firmas electrónicas y mensajes de datos como una forma de comunicación de acuerdo a las normativas existentes en nuestro país como es la de la ley de comercio electrónico, es importante que los Docentes de la carrera de derecho de la FJCS de la UTA conozcan en forma clara y precisa muchas terminologías asociadas con las TICS y que forman pare de la normativa jurídica, se espera que con el apoyo de una herramienta pedagógica se comparta con los estudiantes y se permita un mejor desarrollo de la temática en el aula. La educación es una actividad intencional cuyo desarrollo exige una planificación dentro de aula, el profesor es el responsable último de la acción educativa ante los alumnos y que mejor el uso de una herramienta que sea manejada de acuerdo a las necesidades del estudiante. La herramienta multimedia permitirá explicar en forma precisa la importancia de conocer sobre las firmas electrónicas y mensajes de datos con términos relacionados con las TICS y con la normativa jurídica.

For this reason this research was proposed, in order to understand how the current world is in the province of Tungurahua, in order to propose from the Technical University of Ambato, a panorama of understanding about education and communication. From that point, certain solutions are proposed, from social networks, especially from Facebook, so that real teaching-learning processes are carried out, in order not to waste this new technology that serves people. El manejo de la información oficial en tiempos de crisis: Caso conflictos armados entre Ecuador y Perú

In research work, he presents documentary analysis of news videos and reports issued in the months of January, February of the year 1995 during the Alto Cenepa war conflict; Along with them, the life stories of the military and war correspondents who were on the battlefield. The objective is to show whether the Ecuadorian and Peruvian media broadcast the correct information to their compatriots, and thus did not provoke disinformation at the international level. Obtaining the data was based on qualitative analysis, relating it to bibliographic research on wartime. There is a brief history of how the media ventured into the first World Wars, their participation in the Falklands War and their role in the Cenepa War. The analysis and interpretation of results of the information collected is described, through documentary analyzes of the videos of the news and reports of the Cenepa War, the life stories of participants in the 1995 armed conflict are analyzed. encourage communicative research, through the analysis of documents and videos, with them seek or discover how it positively influences the media; producing, generating quality reports and easy to understand.

THEME: "Net politics, movements, parties and political alliances and its incursion in the social network Facebook in the city of Latacunga in the forty-five days of the campaign season for the elections of March". In the center of the country is located the city of Latacunga, capital of the province of Cotopaxi where the research was conducted. Every four years in Ecuador, the sectional elections to elect representatives are held with civility. As technologies continue to advance, changing the way and strategies to reach voters, the research is based on ways to campaign politically, especially on digital social networks such as Facebook. At a national level, we observed an electoral battle that the candidates had during the election season, where they sought victory with their own party and using traditional strategies, getting involved with the booming social networks; but, without a previous study of the strategy required according to the needs, geographical conditions, economy, ideology, culture, among others. Few candidates worked hand in hand with a communicator or political advisor before planning political strategies. For the candidates it was a real challenge to participate in this electoral contest of March 24, 2019. How was the image of the different political parties handled in Facebook, did the propaganda strategy work for this social network, what kind of reception does Facebook have in Latacunga? The level of knowledge of the city of Latacunga regarding the Internet and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT); the objective of the research was to analyze the social network Facebook as a contemporary political space.
Las políticas públicas y factores que generan desempleo en jóvenes profesionales del Trabajo Social

The purpose of this research is to study a current problem, focused on the analysis of public policies and the factors that influence unemployment, especially among Social Work professionals in the city of Ambato, a population that affirms that the fact of studying and obtaining a university degree does not guarantee a stable job; In turn, through this work we intend to diagnose if the professional profile of the social worker has high levels of knowledge, creativity and leadership that fit the labor market, as well as to study the particularities and conditions that public and private companies handle for the insertion of new professionals in jobs, and how the country through its public policies give support to new professionals in social work for the search for employment. The research is based on a mixed approach, which collects, analyzes and links quantitative and qualitative data in the same study, so it was necessary the application of surveys and interviews with which relevant information was obtained, concluding that current public policies on youth employment in Ecuador, help to address the factors that generate unemployment in young professionals of Social Work, allowing them to access a job through the various projects that have been created, reducing the unemployment rate in the country

The objective of this research is to strengthen the elements of community communication in the administrative water boards of the province of Azuay, for which we proceeded to the use of research methods and techniques that allowed the proper development of the same. For the gathering of information it was necessary to apply interviews to the directors of the community organizations studied and an observation guide to the social networks (Facebook and Twitter) of the water boards; After this, the existing problem was visualized, which basically lies in the management of the contents published on social networks for the transmission of information to users; so it is prudent to describe a proposal focused on strategies to improve the quality of information through social networks; Basically, these strategies focus on improving the types of content published, as well as redesigning the pages of both Facebook and Twitter in a way that effectively takes advantage of existing tools on the page; It is also recommended a series of indicators that will allow evaluating the effectiveness of the application of strategies in improving the quality of information disseminated. Finally, it is recommended to the administrators of social networks that they be trained in topics related to the effective management of Facebook and Twitter, making the most of the use of these systems to disseminate information in a fast and timely manner.
Redes sociales en el pueblo Kichwa Salasaka: estudio comparativo entre nativo y Millennial gigital

The globalization of information derived, among other things, the accelerated advance of telecommunications that has led to the easy access to knowledge of other cultures and traditions; Due to this, it is common to see how society has been appropriating foreign fashions and cultural patterns, leaving behind the native cultural and folkloric roots, losing cultural values and identity. The use of digital social networks is changing the dynamics of life; for example, Facebook constitutes a space of communication where different cultures and ideologies converge, between patterns of behavior, social relations, traditions; in itself the elements that ancestrally have been part of the culture of individuals, which are being modified by the impact of this medium. The structure of Facebook induces the user to join a hegemonic language in the network; However, it is not only the network that leads young people to forget the language, for example the Kichwa, but it is the same context of the indigenous youth that makes the learning of a Kichwa reader-writing impossible; so the transfer of the language to the social network has not had its development according to the generations that have experienced the advance of digital communications. For an educational model of literacy in digital culture and technology aimed, mainly, at the training of adolescents and young people as citizens of the digital ecosystem. For this, we have structured this essay in three sections. In the first we describe the main characteristics that define the so-called generation of young people born at the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st (which some authors have called Millennials) as a contemporary generation and deeply marked by the emergence, generalization and omnipresence of digital technologies. In the second, we approach the concept of digital identity as a key and substantive element to be able to function successfully in cyberspace as a subject with definite identification signs.
Las redes sociales en la generación z del cantón Cevallos: usos y preferencias en la plataforma Facebook

The following work has been done to analyze the uses and preferences thata the z generation from Cevallos has, specifically on the social network Facebook, interest in this topic arises by showing an interaction different from the conventional one, this group that includes from 10 to 24 years prefers to communicate through technological resources like the cellphone and computer, using digital platforms that provide much more than a space for dialogue, but an interaction through different information and entertainment tools. Research background was used for this process, these allowed knowing concepts and referencing the place of research in addition, through a quantitative approach, using the survey's investigative tool, through a questionnaire applied to 330 people, characteristics were obtained that identify this population group better known as digital natives, with a high consumption of the Internet and among the main uses of this communication channel is the use of social networks, such that Facebook is one of them when used by 7 out of 10 people daily and although it is currently in decline due to the demand from other social networks, it is still the most used by this generation, which is constantly in search of spaces that satisfy their technological expectations changing according to consumption categories such as: communication through conversations, entertainment, interest in education and generally interaction. Facebook being the most used network by the Cevallos generation Z, opens the door and imposes a great challenge for technology lovers: maintaining an updated platform and fulfilling the technological wishes of digital natives.
Las relaciones públicas y las redes sociales ONLINE, en el área de comunicación de las empresas públicas del GADMA

This research allows the study of public relations and online social networks in the area of communication of public enterprises of GADMA, for which research, background and theoretical frame of references was used, so the definitions and elements of the variables were known. The study of the variables was developed through a qualitative and quantitative approach; while the basic modality of investigation is bibliographical because of the revision of texts and antecedents; and a study in field by the collection of information with the technique of survey and check list, in addition the level or type of investigation is descriptive and correlational; this is the way we establish the techniques that manage Public Relations in the public companies of the GADMA. It´s well known that not all have an appropriate internal bulletin, all the messages and information are send directly or through multimedia, they not use Videoconference or meetings ; and the websites or social networks are not adequately managed to publicize the relevant information and share content that the public can find interest. In addition, we investigated the importance of the use of online social networks in the area of communication of public enterprises of GADMA, through the checklist was determined that are not managed properly, in the field study found that social communicators They think that the use of social networks is important and that it is necessary to transmit relevant information, that is why it is necessary to manage them properly. Public employes stated that it is necessary to create a basic manual for the use of online social networks as a valid proposal to solve the research problem.
El Retorno de George Orwell. La Videovigilancia y el control en el mundo contemporáneo. Caso de estudio la película: The Truman Show

In contemporary society, video surveillance has emerged as a crucial topic within studies on social control and subjectivity; however, in the Ecuadorian context, this phenomenon has not been sufficiently explored. Since the premiere of the film “The Truman Show” in 1998, directed by Peter Weir, which shows the life of Truman Burbank, a man who ignores being the protagonist of a reality show in which his life is monitored relentlessly, A new field of debate opens about constant surveillance and its influence on the construction of identity. This research will focus on the politicization of video surveillance, approaching it from a critical perspective to discuss how constant control manifests itself in modern societies and its implications on individual freedom. The methodological approach of this thesis is divided into two parts: the first part will use a comparative matrix that integrates various theoretical perspectives on surveillance and its impact on subjectivity, contrasting the points of view of different authors to articulate a robust theoretical framework that critiques and explore video surveillance in contemporary societies. In this way, it is hoped that the research will not only provide a deeper understanding of how video surveillance is represented in “The Truman Show”, but also contribute to the debate about the ethical and social implications of living under constant observation. The second part of the study consists of an analysis of the discourse on surveillance in “The Truman Show” to identify and examine the elements that construct the narrative of control and monitoring in the film. Through an analysis matrix, the surveillance mechanisms and how they affect the perception and behavior of the protagonist will be detailed, establishing parallels with contemporary practices of digital surveillance. This analysis will allow us to better understand how cinema can represent and question surveillance as a social and cultural phenomenon. This exploration will allow new researchers to focus on video surveillance as a complex and relevant topic within Communication and Social Sciences studies

Sexting is a phenomenon driven by the diversity of digital devices and the accessibility that young people have every day at an earlier age. Sexting is present in the digital communication of young university students, which can lead to problems related to the misuse of technology. The use of WhatsApp is common since it has ease of interaction through text, audio and video, in which content is sent, sent or received. The results show an acceptance in the cultural and social environment; however, the misuse of this practice could harm one or more people. Through a qualitative and quantitative study, digital communication of several advantages that are positive for dialogue and interactivity between people was determined; Likewise, the university women found will be the people who frequently use this activity. In turn, consider that it is not done with social problems in studies due to the dissemination of sexual content on the WhatsApp social network. The variation of digital communication, new technologies and the appearance of digital applications for communication, make communication development and viability more and more immediate. It merits a responsible and adequate use of this activity, specifies the preparation of workshops, tutorials, publications, arts, generated from higher education institutions, where the theme of the sea on the limitations and consequences of current Information and Communication Technologies .
El stalking en redes sociales digitales en la etapa de enamoramiento en estudiantes universitarios

Stalking in digital social networks during the infatuation stage refers to the inappropriate use of intemet browsing that relates to communication with one's partner, through online applications where posts, connectivity, location, and views are activated, in order to stalk, control, harass, and intrude repeatedly and intrusively. The research focused on analyzing the influence of stalking during the infatuation stage in university students, specifically examining the factors and characteristics of digital harassment in Communication students at the Technical University of Ambato. A mixed approach was used, using the survey as a quantitative technique and the questionnaire to assess abuse in teenage relationships (CARPA) created by Calvete, Machinbarrena, González, and Fernandez in 2021, consisting of 21 items distributed in four dimensions - online control, actions, reactions, and self-perception of the relationship. The target population consists of 360 young people, with a sample of 187 individuals, within a limited range of 18 to 25 years old. In the qualitative part, a focus group with 3 participants who were stalking victims was conducted using the interview guide created by Zbairi in 2015, consisting of five questions that covered the dimensions of knowledge, experimental situation, past experiences, victim's perspective, and solution opinions. This exploratory, descriptive, and correlational study employed an analytical-synthetic, hypothetical-deductive, and inductive method. The results reveal the presence of problematic behaviors, showing appropriate use of digital platforms and influence on romantic relationships. The perception of stalking derives from digital violence, referring to a neologism of espionage, for obtaining information and control of movements. Based on the schematization of the narratives, the lack of knowledge about stalking and gender differences in responses highlight the need for a gender-sensitive approach in understanding and addressing digital stalking in university settings.

Web 2.0, from the presidential elections of 2006, marked in Ecuador the beginning of a milestone in political communication, at the national level and subsequently local scenarios. The new platforms, provided by the Internet, opened an alternative channel for the dissemination of information and propaganda; and, thus, that the digital social network Facebook has been established in an ideal space for campaign managers to try to capture the electorate through this digital space. This research shows the growing acceptance of Facebook in all the target groups of Chimborazo, as well as the possibility of using the platform as an alternative communication channel for political campaigns, in addition to traditional media. Objectives are established to analyze the impact of the digital social network and the propaganda actions of the four candidates that won a seat in the National Legislative Assembly. The conclusions undoubtedly acknowledge that Facebook in all age groups is the social network most used in Ecuador, but we are still far from reaching the concept of the professional use of this tool as an alternative channel of communication in political campaigns, in the provincial scenarios.
