Item Análisis de la incidencia de los flujos de movilidad en el espacio público de la calle Simón Bolívar, entre Eugenio Espejo y Olmedo en 2026(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURA, 2026-07-07) BaronaLozada Keyla Anais; Sarzosa Soto Richard Esteban; UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURAThis study analyzes how mobility flows influence the socio-spatial dynamics associated with public spaces. The research arises from the need to recognize mobility as a catalyst for multiple spatial interactions and urban processes. Although the relationship between mobility and public space has been addressed in Latin American studies, these phenomena are often examined separately, overlooking the ways in which they are interconnected. The research adopted a qualitative approach supported by both qualitative and quantitative techniques and instruments. Data collected through bibliographic review, spatial quantification, interviews, and observation sheets were analyzed individually and collectively through mapping and triangulation methods. The findings made it possible to identify four main dimensions through which mobility relates to public space: mobility as a generator of social encounters, an activator of urban environments, a producer of spatial fragmentation, and a factor that shapes urban perceptions. Overall, the study concludes that mobility significantly influences public space; however, it is not the sole determining factor, since other conditions contribute to processes such as appropriation, sense of belonging, and perceptions of urban livability. The research confirms the proposed relationship between mobility and public space while also revealing additional aspects for future analysis. Furthermore, it highlights that any street-related intervention, whether linked to mobility or not, should acknowledge existing socio-spatial dynamics in order to avoid negatively affecting the urban environment.Item Rediseño del Parque Infantil del cantón Patate, Tungurahua(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURA, 2026-07-07) Vargas Balladares Lenin Damian; Obando Navas Carolina; UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURAThe children's park in the Patate canton is more than just a green space; it's a public area dedicated to recreation, community gatherings, and play activities for local children and tourists visiting this Magical Town. Currently, it faces several problems related to its physical, functional, and spatial condition, such as deteriorated street furniture, accessibility issues, and, above all, an alarming sense of insecurity due to the park's poor visibi-lity, as it's located behind the Patate Coliseum. This location diminishes the quality of the public space and limits its use. With this in mind, this research aims to analyze these deficiencies not only from a technical perspective but also from a human and social dimension. The goal is to identify the main shortcomings of this space in order to esta-blish intervention criteria that will improve its functioning and integration with the urban environment. The research employs a qualitative approach, allowing for an understanding of public space through direct observation and spatial analysis from its physical, social, and urban dimensions. This involves listening to the real needs of the parents and children who live in this beautiful canton. The information obtained is systematized and analyzed to establish redesign guidelines that will revitalize the area. As a result, an architectural and urban proposal is presented that seeks to reorganize recreational spaces, improve pedestrian routes, incorporate ap-propriate furnishings, enhance safety, improve accessibility, and strengthen the park's connection to the urban fabric of the Patate canton, thus promo-ting a more inclusive, functional, and higher-quality public space for the community.Item Diseño de Anteproyecto Arquitectónico de un Centro de Procesamiento de Fruta, Santa Cruz, Galápagos, Ecuador(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURA, 2026-07-07) Vargas Acosta Lenin Adrian; Molina Dueñas Víctor Hugo; UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURAThe Bellavista Parish, located in the agricultural zone of Santa Cruz Island, Galápagos, Ecuador, concentrates most of the canton's productive activity. Despite having 357 active Agricultural Production Units with an average of 23.70 years of continuous operation, local production covers only 44.8% of the island's food demand, while the territory receives 290,404 tourist arrivals annually. The Santa Cruz County Development and Land Use Plan 2021-2032 confirm a lack of strategies to add value to agriculture and infrastructure. The proposed solution advocates designing a Fruit Processing Center in the Guayabillos area of Bellavista Parish, applying agro-industrial architectural principles and sanitary criteria consistent with the special regime of the Galapagos Islands. The research adopts a mixed qualitative-quantitative method with a projectbased approach, based on Groat and Wang (2013), structured in four phases: identification of the territorial need within the cantonal PDOT (Territorial Development Plan); analysis of the feasibility of responding to the need with a preliminary architectural design; expert validation using the Delphi method, with semistructured interviews processed in Atlas.ti; and triangulation of criteria to produce project guidelines. The main result is the preliminary design of the Center, organized into two independent circuits that share the same volume: the certifiable production circuit on the ground floor and the visit and administration circuit on the upper floor, structured according to the forward march principle of Casp Vanaclocha (2004) and the thought of dwelling by Heidegger (2015).Item Propuesta arquitectónica de un Centro de Gestión y Control animal, a partir de principios de modularidad para el cantón Ambato(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURA, 2026-07-07) Tisalema Vargas Cynthia Aracelly; Lara Orellana Fausto Andrés; UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURAIn recent years, there has been a lack of concern regarding the problem of animal abandonment in Ecuador; several studies reveal that the numbers are rising sharply each year. There is currently a need to address the issue of urban street animals; proper management is required to control the population of abandoned animals. Municipal collaboration is essential to initiate a committed adoption program free from exploitation, one that positively promotes animal welfare, public health, and civic harmony. To develop the proposal, a process of observation, analysis, and strategic decisionmaking was employed, grounded in theoretical and conceptual foundations for selecting the construction system. Regarding material selection, a preliminary inventory of materials was compiled, focusing on equipment for animal management. Semi-structured interviews identified specific requirements related to veterinary care, institutional constraints, and design. The architectural proposal focuses on material modulation and the appropriate use of these elements, with the primary objective of reducing environmental impact while promoting spaces that are easy to maintain, hygienic, and durable. In this way, principles of architectural modulation are incorporated that positively address the need for the rescue of street animals, thereby effectively establishing the appropriate facilities for an Animal Management and Control Center.Item Diseño arquitectónico de un Centro Comunitario de Integración Social en la parroquia Bolívar, cantón Pelileo(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURA, 2026-07-07) Paredes Acosta Shirley Dayana; Rojas Molina María Augusta; UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURAThis research develops the architectural design of a Community Social Integration Center in the Bolívar parish, Pelileo town, intended for school-aged children and senior citizens, considered priority groups within the community. The proposal arises from the identification of the need for suitable spaces that promote social integration, cognitive development, community participation, and the physical and emotional well-being of these users. The study adopts a qualitative approach through documentary, bibliographic, and field research, complemented by interviews with specialized professionals, direct observation, and analysis of architectural precedents. Based on this methodology, design criteria oriented toward sensory, adaptive, and flexible architecture are identified, understood as a strategy capable of responding to the changing needs of different age groups and fostering inclusive spatial experiences. The architectural proposal incorporates principles of universal accessibility, functional environmental comfort, multisensory stimulation, and flexibility, with the purpose of strengthening intergenerational interaction and improving the quality of life of the users. It also aims to establish itself as a community facility that contributes to social cohesion, cultural strengthening, and the holistic development of the population of the Bolívar parish. As a result, the project proposes an infrastructure capable of responding to current social demands through inclusive, safe, and adaptable spaces, becoming a benchmark for community integration and well-being for vulnerable groups within the rural context of the Pelileo town.Item Diseño de un sistema de residencias gerontológicas modulares en la parroquia de Santa Rosa(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURA, 2026-07-07) Nuñez Arias Eliana Samira; Rojas Molina María Augusta; UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURAThis integrative project aims to design a modular gerontological residential system in the parish of Santa Rosa, Ambato canton, focused on providing care and accommodation for older adults living in conditions of poverty, abandonment, and social vulnerability. The research responds to the growing challenges generated by population aging and the lack of specialized infrastructure capable of ensuring adequate living conditions, health care, safety, and social inclusion for this priority population group. The study identifies significant social and housing deficiencies affecting older adults in Santa Rosa, including poverty, inadequate housing conditions, limited family support networks, and restricted access to specialized services. Furthermore, the existing facilities intended for elderly care do not meet the technical standards required for comprehensive gerontological assistance, resulting in barriers related to accessibility, comfort, health care, social interaction, and residential support. The methodological approach combined documentary research, regulatory analysis, interviews with professionals involved in elderly care, architectural case studies, and territorial assessment of the selected site. These methods enabled the establishment of design guidelines based on the physical, emotional, and social needs of older adults, while considering the environmental and urban characteristics of the context. The proposed architectural solution is based on principles of modular architecture, universal accessibility, environmental comfort, flexibility, and integration with nature. The project includes residential, administrative, complementary care, and service modules organized through a functional system that promotes autonomy, social interaction, and active aging. Green areas, therapeutic spaces, and community environments are incorporated to enhance physical health, emotional well-being, and social participation.Item Propuesta de Diseño Urbano de un Sistema de Corredores Ecológicos y Espacios de Permanencia: Diseño del Primer Tramo en la Parroquia García Moreno, Pelileo, Ecuador.(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURA, 2026-07-07) Moreta Moreta Ronnie Anthony; Heredia Gamboa Edgar Andrés; UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURAThe urban–architectural design of ecological corridors, viewpoints, and resting areas as a territorial articulation strategy along the San Ildefonso River in García Moreno parish, Pelileo canton, responds to the need to reorganize and enhance this river edge as a structuring element of the territory. The limited availability of public spaces and the weak relationship between the community and its natural environment highlight the need for an integral intervention. The proposal establishes a continuous system of ecological corridors, contemplation nodes, and staying areas aimed at improving pedestrian connectivity, territorial integration, and spatial quality. Sustainability criteria are incorporated through reforestation with native species and green infrastructure, promoting biological connectivity and the restoration of the riparian ecosystem. The project applies Geographic Information Systems to analyze physical conditions, risks, and vegetation cover, ensuring appropriate spatial implementation. The proposal is framed within the Organic Law of Land Use and Management, fostering sustainable development and equitable access to public space. Overall, the project redefines the river edge as a strategic urban infrastructure, generating social, environmental, and territorial benefits for García Moreno while consolidating a replicable model of urban–landscape intervention that integrates nature and the built environment. Furthermore, it enhances the landscape as an identity element, encourages recreational and cultural activities, and improves the quality of life of inhabitants, while promoting local development and sustainable tourism in alignment with current and future territorial dynamics.Item Diseño de un centro gastronómico cultural en la parroquia San Buenaventura, Latacunga(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURA, 2026-07-07) Moreira Castro Sandy Mikaela; Rojas Molina María Augusta; UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURAThis research proposes the design of a Cultural Gastronomic Center in San Buenaventura as a strategy to strengthen traditional culinary activities and enhance their contribution to local development. This project proposes an infrastructure that allows for the integration of spaces dedicated to the production, marketing, learning, and consumption of food, benefiting the community and promoting better functional organization that meets the needs of merchants, producers, and visitors. The architectural proposal seeks to preserve and disseminate the gastronomic knowledge specific to the area by incorporating spaces for workshops, demonstration gardens, exhibition areas, and community gathering spaces. Similarly, it establishes a direct relationship between architecture, culture, and the urban-rural landscape, using criteria of sustainability and accessibility. As a result, the center is developed as a facility that fosters a sustainable economic dynamic, capable of strengthening the community’s cultural identity and establishing itself as a point of interest for tourism and education. In this way, the research demonstrates that proper spatial planning can contribute significantly to the preservation and promotion of San Buenaventura’s gastronomic heritage.Item Diseño Arquitectónico de un Centro de Interpretación Etnobotánico en el Parque OMAERE en la ciudad de Puyo, Pastaza(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURA, 2026-07-07) Meléndez Oñate Andrea Antonella; Carranco Muñoz José Miguel; UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURAThis thesis addresses the Architectural Design of the Ethnobotanical Interpretation Center at Parque Omaere, located in the city of Puyo, Pastaza province. The research emerges in response to the progressive erosion of Amazonian biocultural knowledge, a condition stemming from the absence of specialized infrastructure for the communication and dissemination of this heritage, the growing disconnection between the urban fabric and its natural surroundings, and the loss of vernacular architectural identity as an expression of Amazonian dwelling. The study adopts a qualitative approach with a descriptive scope, grounded in a methodology that integrates bioclimatic sity anylis, surbey and interviews with key stakeholders, typological analysis of the vernacular architecture of the Kiwcha, Shuar and Waorani nationalities, and the examination of architectural references at both projectual and functional levels. The triangulation of these sources constituted the central methodological contribution, enabling the convergence of findings into design criteria that ultimately shaped the project’s strategies. The proposal originates from a reinterpretation of Amazonian vernacular constructive principles, without formally reproduction them. Building upon the reinterpretation design strategies are incorporated to structure a pedagogical sequence from introductory to experimental articulated by a central circular hearth (fogón) as the symbolic and social nucleus of the project, reinterpreting the essence of Amazonian dwelling. The Amazonian chakra is integrated as natural cooling system through vegetative strata, while the use of bamboo ensures passive hygrothermal comfort. The project thus operates as a mediating device between the city and the forest, preserving and transmitting Amazonian ethnobotanical memory through a contextually meaningful architectureItem Diseño de anteproyecto arquitectónico de rehabilitación de la estación del ferrocarril sector Ingahurco, Ambato(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURA, 2026-07-07) Jácome Mise Cristina Belén; Castro Martín Verónica Alexandra; UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURAThe train station in the parish of Ingahurco, formerly a historical, cultural, and tourist hub of the city of Ambato, is currently in a state of complete neglect, resulting in damage to the infrastructure and a lack of functional uses that meet the needs of the community. This has led to severe problems of insecurity, vandalism, illegal occupation, and, above all, a loss of heritage value. Internationally, various organizations have identified similar cases, which negatively impact on the community and its identity. Nationally, two significant examples are the Chimbacalle and Durán train stations, which demonstrate the absence of policies to support their preservation. Specifically in the parish of Ingahurco, the train station has become a clear case of heritage and urban risk related to a lack of appropriate management. Studying this problem is relevant because it presents an opportunity to rescue this space, increase security, and simultaneously revitalize the city's tourist and cultural identity. To develop this topic, a qualitative research approach using a case study methodology is proposed, connecting with physical and heritage study. The expected results include a general diagnosis of the building's current state, an analysis of the urban and social environment, a distinction of uses within the station, and a proposed architectural design that is functional and meets the community's needs. Likewise, the aim is to create guidelines that ensure its conservation and reintegration as a community space for the parish. In conclusion, this research aspires to enhance the heritage and contribute to the urban planning of Ambato.
