Item Efectividad de un plan de entrenamiento HIIT sobre las personas con prediabetes(2025-03-11) Puruncajas Rodríguez, Cristina Isabel; Tello Moreno, Mónica Cristina; Universidad Técnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Centro de PosgradosPrediabetes is characterized by having blood glucose levels that are higher than normal, but not high enough to meet the diagnostic criteria for type 2 diabetes mellitus. This intermediate state predisposes people who suffer from it to precede diabetes. This research proposes a HIIT training plan as a method to reduce high glucose levels in people suffering from prediabetes, with the aim of testing the effectiveness of this training type prescribed and dosed by health personnel. This proposal was originated from the interest in improving the health conditions of the study population and at the same time providing an alternative, timely and effective treatment; and that it does not represent a high cost for the institution where it is developed. The research focuses on determining the effectiveness of the HIIT training plan in the treatment of people with prediabetes, in addition to the behavior of other physiological parameters during its execution. This analytical intervention project, with a quantitative, prospective, longitudinal and application-level approach. It was carried out at the Latacunga Type C Health Center with a 13-week intervention: the first week after the evaluation, the participant was adapted to the exercise, then the training plan was applied for 12 weeks and finally the effects after it were evaluated. The parameters evaluated are: VO2peak (6-minute step test), fasting glucose and risk of diabetes mellitus (FINDRISC). At last, the research findings reveal that HIIT training combined with a low-calorie diet is an effective intervention to improve several health indicators in people with prediabetes, such as: fasting glucose, VO2peak, HRsubmax and consequently the risk of developing diabetes. In Primary Health Care, the Family Physician is the fundamental pillar in the comprehensive care of the individual, family and community in all stages of life. Faced with the increase in older adults worldwide, the WHO affirms that this age group currently represents 11% of the world population and projects that by 2050 they will represent 22% of the total population in the world. Aging is proportional to the appearance of non-communicable chronic diseases in the elderly, generating a real public health problem. Therefore, it has been seen the need to carry out the present investigation in this age group, whose objective was to establish the relationship between sociocultural determinants and depression in the elderly with type 2 diabetes mellitus and/or hypertension in the central and southern Zumbalica neighborhood in 2020. The research had a cross-sectional, analytical, observational quantitative approach. Universe of 103 older adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus and/or hypertension residing in the central and southern Zumbalica neighborhood. Sample represented by 100 older adults who met the inclusion criteria. A survey was applied which included questions on the sociocultural aspect, the Batalla, Morisky Green tests and the Yesavage geriatric depression scale. The results were that 81% of the older adults studied have depression; being is more frequent in older adults with DM and HTA together. The determinants that are strongly related to depression were sex, marital status, educational instruction, occupation, coexistence, adequate knowledge of the disease and adherence to treatment. In conclusion, sociocultural determinants have a positive relationship in the development of depression in the elderly with DM and / or HTA.Item Estrés emocional factor de riesgo para el desarrollo de enfermedades crónicas: caso de estudio parroquia Tanicuchi - Ecuador(Universdidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Centro de posgrados, 2021-04-01) Acosta Gavilánez, Roberto Iván Md.; López Guerrero. Md Esp., Ana AbigailThe research focused on determining whether emotional stress is a risk factor for the appearance of chronic diseases in the age group between 25 and 65 years old belonging to the Tanicuchi parish in the Lasso neighborhood. The methodology applied in the present investigation has a qualitative approach and a quantitative approach, in addition, it had an inductive and analytical investigation and also had a descriptive scope. For the research, the population registered in the Lasso Health Center was considered, patients between 25 to 65 years old who belong to the Tanicuchi parish, on the other hand, the sample was determined based on the research needs, it was determined to 98 patients from 25 to 65 years old belonging to the Tanicuchi parish. The relationship between chronic diseases and the presence of the stressor is obtained as a result, considering a p value of 0.890, a significance value greater than 0.05, to conclude, it is concluded that there is no significant value between the study variables, thus understanding that emotional stress is not a risk factor for the development of chronic diseases.Item Morbilidad oculta de Diabetes Mellitus Tipo 2, prediabetes y factores de riesgo en San Miguelito: Barrios el Centro y Yacupamba año 2016(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud-Dirección de Posgrado, 2016-11-01) Corella Galarza,Cristian Alexander Md.; Bracero Tobar Dr. Esp,Wellington IvarObjectives: Determine the incidence of type 2 diabetes , impaired Fasting glucose and Risk factor's in San Miguelito neighborhoods: Centro and Yacupamba, 2016 and identify the epidemiological, clinical and anthropometric characteristics of prediabetes and type 2 diabetics. Methods: Descriptive cross-sectional study in people over 45 years of the community of San Miguelito: Neighborhoods The Center and Yacupamba 2016. The sample consisted of 166 people calculated using EPI INFO version 7. The sample selection was done by stratified random sampling using the random number generation. FIND RISK test was applied to all patients and laboratory tests performed: fasting glucose test and oral glucose tolerance. Results: The incidence of type 2 diabetes was 2,4%, impaired Fasting glucose 9%. Predominance females , housewives , farmers and traders. People over 64 were the most incidence of impaired Fasting glucose and type 2 diabetes presented. There was statistically significant association between family pathological history, altered prior glycemia, the body mass index and waist circumference increased the risk for impaired Fasting glucose and type 2 diabetes (p=0,001). The categories of high risk and very high risk according to the test find presented with 16.9 % and 1.85 % respectively. Conclusions: Results of this study show that the findings are consistent with other studies supported internationally. The results confirm the strong association between life styles of preventable diet, exercise, overweight with impaired Fasting glucose and type 2 diabetes. The importance of primary care in a timely capture patients with risk factors, and therefore the development of early education programs that promote healthy lifestyles. Dra.; Mera Ramos Dr. Esp,Gerardo VinicioGestational diabetes is carbohydrate intolerance resulting in hyperglycaemia that is first diagnosed during pregnancy.
