Item Programa de ejercicios basado en el Método Perfetti para el deterioro cognitivo leve en adultos mayores(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Centro de Posgrados, 2023-07-06) Quispe Arias, Jenny Germania; Celi Lalama, Daniela NatalyThe purpose of this research work was the application of an exercise protocol based on the Perfetti method in older adults with mild cognitive impairment, of the My Golden Years care unit, Salcedo Canton, Mulliquindil Parish. This is an observational development project, with a longitudinal study, with a prospective quantitative approach.: The assessment instruments used were: the Mini Mental State Examination test (Mini Mental) that evaluates the cognitive state of older adults and the Barthel Index (IB) to evaluate the ability to perform activities of daily living (ADL). The census population sample is 20 older adults, 11 men and 9 women, between 65 and 85 years old, with a low level of schooling. The results obtained with the application of the IB are an average of 85 to 90 points out of 100, which represents a slight dependence to execute the activities of daily living. The initial assessment of the Mini Mental test gave an average result of 23 that as a result gives us a Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). An exercise program based on the Perfetti method was applied to stimulate cognition and observe the impact that gender in the improvement of the development of the ADLs, was carried out in 10 weeks of extension two therapeutic sessions per week, with a duration between 40 minutes approximately. At the end a new final evaluation is carried out, applying again the Mini Mental test, an average result of 27 points is achieved, which marks a normal degree in relation to cognitive impairment. In addition, the IB is applied, which marks an average of 95 to 100 points which translates into an independence of older adults in ADLs, which allows us to say that through learning tasks that include motor behaviors, and memory can maintain healthy aging.
