Item Interseccionalidad y permanencia en Carreras de Ingeniería(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-07-09) Oñate Villalba, Dayana Madelein; Chiliquinga Vejar, Lorena Del CarmenThe permanence of women in engineering careers constitutes a relevant challenge in higher education, due to structural, social and cultural inequalities in STEM areas. The present research analyzes the relationship between intersectionality and the permanence of women in engineering careers at the Technical University of Ambato, considering factors such as gender, socioeconomic situation and social context that influence their academic career. The study was developed from an intersectional perspective taking into account the impact of economic, educational, cultural and social factors on the continuity of students within higher education. To achieve this, a mixed methodological approach was used that integrated quantitative and qualitative tools with the purpose of obtaining a broad understanding of the phenomenon. In the quantitative phase, a questionnaire was applied to engineering students, focused on analyzing variables such as family environment, academic motivation, social support, vocational guidance and the perception of gender inequality. Additionally, in the qualitative phase, an interview guide was carried out that was validated by experts, which allowed us to know the experiences and perceptions of the participants about their academic permanence. The results show that the permanence of women in engineering does not depend only on academic performance, but also on structural and sociocultural factors, gender stereotypes, economic limitations, social barriers and the level of institutional support. In this sense, research provides evidence to strengthen policies and strategies aimed at promoting gender equity, inclusion and continuity of women in higher education.Item Uso de la Inteligencia Artificial en estudiantes de Trabajo Social(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2026-01-20) Chasipanta Pila, Melida Janeth; Chiliquinga Véjar, Lorena Del CarmenThe incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) tools has significantly transformed academic and professional practices in higher education. In the field of Social Work, a discipline committed to vulnerable populations and grounded in ethical principles of social justice, human rights, and self-determination, it is essential to understand how future professionals are adopting these emerging technologies during their academic training. The objective of this study was to analyze the use of artificial intelligence among Social Work students at the Faculty of Jurisprudence and Social Sciences of the Technical University of Ambato. The research adopted a quantitative approach through the application of a self-designed questionnaire, subjected to content validation and reliability processes. The questionnaire was designed to measure four dimensions and was administered to 224 Social Work students aged between 21 and 23 years. The results revealed that the use of AI has been universally and practically integrated into the students' academic and professional activities, optimizing their learning processes. Furthermore, three levels of use of these tools were identified: high, medium, and low, with a predominance of the medium level. This suggests that the group has moved beyond the initial discovery phase but has not yet reached a level of expertise. It was also determined that these tools are primarily used for idea generation, writing, study case simulation, and creative and content production tasks, as opposed to methodological and analytical tasks. Finally, the findings allowed for the identification of professional Social Work practice activities where AI is most frequently used, such as searching for information on public policies, developing educational materials, and resolving complex situations. However, its integration faces resistance in core professional activities, likely because these require trustbased relationships, human sensitivity, ethical judgment, and a deep understanding of the sociocultural contextItem Calidad de vida en la emancipacion en estudiantes Universitarios(Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2025-02-21) Guevara Carrasco, Erika Lizbeth; Torres Carrillo, Silvia SusanaThe present research aims to determine the influence of quality of life on the emancipation process of university students at the Technical University of Ambato (UTA), specifically those enrolled in the programs of Social Work, Social Communication, and Law. This study addresses a complex phenomenon that combines personal, social, and economic aspects, analyzing how students face the challenges of independence within a university context. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, integrating quantitative and qualitative methods for a comprehensive understanding of the phenomenon. The total population of 20 students was included, conducting a census to ensure the participation of all eligible individuals. Structured questionnaires, adapted from the WHO Quality of Life Model (WHOQOL), were used to measure the dimensions of physical, psychological, social, and environmental well-being. Additionally, semi-structured interviews were conducted to explore the motivations, challenges, and experiences of emancipated students, complementing quantitative results with interpretive and narrative analyses. The findings reveal that the quality of life of emancipated students is a multidimensional construct, influenced by factors such as emotional well-being, financial security, and social support networks. Quality of life levels were moderate across most evaluated dimensions, with the highest satisfaction reported in social relationships (3.80) and the lowest in the economic domain (3.0). Older students (aged 22–25) demonstrated better adaptation strategies, translating into higher levels of psychological and environmental wellbeing. Emancipation was primarily motivated by the pursuit of independence, maturity, and a more focused academic approach. The main challenges identified included financial precarity, stress management, and maintaining healthy routines, all of which negatively impacted the students' psychological and physical well-being. Educational institutions were perceived as a significant area for improvement. Only a portion of the students reported receiving tangible support from the university, highlighting the need for more robust programs that address financial and emotional assistance. The study concludes that emancipation is a process driven by the pursuit of personal independence and the development of autonomy, but it is accompanied by significant challenges, particularly in the financial and emotional domainsItem Situación socioeconómica y elección de una carrera universitaria en estudiantes de tercero de bachillerato(Universidad Tècnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2024-08) Cueva Morales, Cristina de los Angeles; Espín Miniguano, Anita DalilaThe socioeconomic situation is one of the most studied aspects within families, despite being a variable of great relevance to other dimensions. The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of socioeconomic status on the choice of a university career among third-year high school students at Unidad Educativa Capitán Giovanni Calles, in the city of Pelileo, during the year 2024. It aims to analyze the motivations of students in choosing a career, as well as identify the processes that produce social inequality, which influence decision-making when determining educational practices that affect young people's learning. The applied methodology was quantitative, descriptive, and correlational, involving a population of 51 students: 14 women and 34 men, who were evaluated using a survey instrument consisting of 21 questions created by the researcher of this study, validated by experts in related fields. The results determined that the economic factor is dominant when choosing a career, and most students want to pursue a career of their affinity without pressure or influence from their parents or society. The motivation of students receiving full support from their parents significantly influences academic performance and personal development. Likewise, social inequalities and educational competition are complex events that are correlated and significantly influenced by the social position of the students, affecting their academic performance and access to equitable opportunities. Educational practices through vocational and professional guidance are fundamental to ensuring a successful transition to higher education or the labor marketItem Expectativas académicas y el estado emocional de los estudiantes al ingreso a la educación superior(Universidad Tècnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2024-03) Fuentes Amancha, Jonathan Stalin; Espín Miniguano, Anita DalilaThis research project focuses on exploring the intricate dynamics between academic expectations and the emotional state of students upon entering higher education. The primary objective is to comprehend the academic goals and aspirations of students, while also assessing emotional factors such as stress and anxiety, specifically centered on two components: academic expectations and emotional state. The adopted approach is quantitative, with a descriptive-correlational level and the application of hypothetical-deductive and analytical-synthetic methods. The research was conducted with a population of 122 leveling students in the Faculty of Jurisprudence and Social Sciences. To collect data, a survey tailored to students' needs was designed and administered to fulfill the study's objectives. The results indicate that academic expectations are preconceived, and the emotional state reflects a conscious control over the learning process, thereby strengthening students' cognitive processes. In conclusion, this study aims to contribute to the design of interventions and educational policies that foster a supportive environment, enhancing the experience and academic success of students during this crucial transition phase into higher educationItem El derecho a la educación superior y el acceso de los venezolanos a la universidad pública ecuatoriana(Universidad Tècnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Derecho, 2024-02) Villacis Villacres, Tatiana De Los Angeles; Espín Meléndez, María CristinaThe Right to Higher Education is included in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, so each Member State has the obligation to guarantee the fulfillment of this right, so it is essential the correct application of the principle of equal opportunities so that all people, both nationals and foreigners can access this education. In addition, the importance of a correct access to a quality higher education arises since this is the one in charge of training professionals, favoring personal development, so that in this way they expand their capabilities to promote the progress of a country, such as the creation of projects that generate new jobs. The importance of the research topic lies in the fact that it is a current situation due to the large Venezuelan migration produced in the last 5 years to Ecuador in search of better living conditions, due to the situation in which their country of origin finds itself. The present work is within the research line of Public Policies, Law and Society proposed by the Technical University of Ambato, which will allow us to have a clear perspective of the Ecuadorian legal system regarding the opportunities for Venezuelan migrants to access higher education. Establishing that the State is a guarantor of rights, therefore it must protect the right of access to higher education for Venezuelan migrantsItem La inclusión socio educativa de las/os estudiantes con discapacidad de la Universidad Técnica Luis Vargas Torres de Esmeraldas(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Unidad de Posgrado, Maestria en Trabajo Social Familiar, 2020-09) Castillo Caicedo, Lourdes Ximena; Torres Carrillo, Silvia SusanaThe higher education system of Ecuador has undergone, for a few years, changes in the pedagogical model on inclusive education, in this context the universities of Ecuador through their institutional policies must advance towards more inclusive educational practices that allow them to offer something so simple and linked to the legal norm such as the “principle of equal opportunities”. From this inclusive framework, the teaching-learning processes and university life can adequately respond to the real conditions of personal, social, academic and professional development of university students with disabilities; not only as an indispensable issue to improve quality processes, but as a key factor in building fairer, more equitable and democratic societies. In this sense, the objective of this research focuses on analyzing the processes of socio-educational inclusion of students with disabilities at the "Luis Vargas Torres" Technical University of Esmeraldas. The research begins with a theoretical review on aspects related to inclusive experience in international universities, disability, educational inclusion, also compiling all the international and national legal regulations with criteria of relevance to inclusion. The study applies the quantitative methodology, in order to analyze the data and propose actions that allow, through the conclusions and recommendations, to propose adequate attention to students with disabilities in order to promote inclusive education processes at the Luis Vargas Torres Technical University. from Esmeraldas.Item Las políticas públicas de ingreso a las instituciones de educación superior y el derecho constitucional a la educación en Ambato(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Unidad de Posgrado, Maestria en Derecho Constitucional, 2020-09) Bejarano Lizano, Jeaneth Alexandra; Montero Solano, Juan PabloThe present research work is initially directed toward the study of the origin of public policy in order to have a determined knowledge for which the public policy is destined or is created, its characteristics in the social environment, which is democratic, and its execution supports the development of society, which manifests the need for the creation of such policies that guarantee the educational rights of the community, This research is based on a study of education policies in Latin America, where Ecuador is one of the countries that has tried to modify its regulations as a result of questions about Ecuadorian regulations. policy of access to higher education that has been implemented in contemporary constitutionalism to guarantee the right to education and thus know what are the general mechanisms and their application in the Ecuadorian regulations focused on the welfare of citizenship in the free development of the aspirants to higher education within the good life. Similarly, it has been considered important to review how various constitutions such as those of Chile, Argentina, Peru, and Venezuela, among others, have included education as a fundamental and very important right for the development of society. In this context, we should also investigate how the Ecuadorian State, through its educational policies, intends to guarantee the right to education versus its application in Latin America in order to compare whether or not there is an application to equal opportunities that should be recognized when accessing university studies. The same applies to the analysis of international instruments that guarantee equal access.
